  1. Nice simple system. I picked up a couple of Zipwall poles and a Fast cap third hand at a yard sale. It was at the end of the day and the guy said to just take them. I couldn't do that so I gave him $10 for them. http://www.rockler.com/fastcap-3rd-hand-hd-extension-2-pack?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_content=pla&utm_campaign=PL&sid=V9146&gclid=COSFw-TD-M8CFYxahgodvYAOJA https://www.amazon.com/ZipWall-KT20-20-Foot-Spring-Loaded-Barriers/dp/B00004UFZX/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1477487155&sr=8-5&keywords=zipwall+poles As you can see I still made out very well.
  2. I like having separate blade clamps. When I go on a ornament binge or large fretwork piece I have several clamps preloaded with my favorite blade. When one breaks or wears out I just pop in another. Also if a screw strips I don't have to replace an entire assembly, just a cheap clamp. Hawk G4-26
  3. Nice wood selection and well cut. I absolutely love this pattern and have cut a few in Cherry and Spanish cedar. Thanks Russell for the design.!
  4. From my discussions with Carole Rothman regarding her review of the Jet, you will have to tweak the clamps when you go to the very fine blades. Instead of buying a new saw every 2 years you could have bought a new Hawk as I did in 2005, with normal maintenance it is still going strong with no indication of issues. I will have to check my hour meter to see how many hours are on it.
  5. I thoroughly clean and wax the table on my Hawk, No black stuff.
  6. YUP it is a beauty.
  7. I don't see the point of painting the surface of the table. It is a work surface and it will wear. As long as my table is flat I am happy with Aluminum or steel.
  8. Thank you Scott! How was the State Fair?
  9. That is a great design well cut! For some thing like this a bit of color makes it pop. The only thing I would suggest is for you to use a better quality Baltic birch ply as it seems you have a bit of tear out on the back. You could also use a backer, in case you didn't.
  10. Is the table painted?
  11. I am loyal to the supplier that gives me great service, good delivery time and a fair price. In this case Sloans for all of my blades. Can't say I worry much about price.
  12. I have not heard anything yet. A month for delivery is also not acceptable unless it was something not in stock that had to be made, but you should have been told that up front. I do know that they have a very small staff that is spread very thin. I do give them credit for making the effort to support older machines, very few if any companies do that anymore Delta being one example. Time will tell what happens with Excalibur when Ray runs out of parts.
  13. Maybe it is time for you to get a small kiln and start casing your own blanks. This way an oops can be recycled. Not that you ever have any oopses! Those are really beautiful by the way.
  14. I sent an e-mail to the owner regarding this and will post his response when I get it.
  15. There is no # 87 drill the smallest number drill is 80 (at .0135" you don't want to use that) Scott is correct with the drills for the smaller blades. I would definitely cut them.
  16. You Guys are starting to confuse me!! There is NO SSWS! There IS SSWWC (Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts) by Fox Chapel publishing. There is also a German Magazine "FeinSchnitt kreative" http://www.feinschnitt-kreativ.de/ And the one from SAW (Scrollsaw association of the world) which I have not seen. But with Leldon Maxcy and John Nelson working with SAW it is probably worth a look. Any SAW members out there that can comment? There are also some E mags out there, Again something I have not explored.
  17. I really like the Baby Soda bottles they are bullet proof. http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/store/products/lab-supplies/15-test-tubes-with-caps-and-activity-guide.html?___SID=U
  18. I use 1/4 inch screws and the serrated hangers.
  19. I buy them from Sloans
  20. I use the same as Denny from Klingspore, Model MM7204. I use the 180 and 240 grit. I did make my own once, Not worth my time or effort. And I found that type of mop to be too aggressive. All of them need to be broken in before use. I use mine on the end of a motor or on the side of my Sand Flee.
  21. Hey Scott, "Scroll Saw Work Shop" ? Did you mean Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts?
  22. Great job!
  23. What a great idea for someone that goes to many outdoor shows.
  24. Sehr schöne Arbeit!
  25. Nice design well done. I like how you mounted it.
