  1. Congratulations and well deserved. A beautiful piece of artwork you created with masterful cutting and nice use of the barn wood for a great frame.
  2. Welcome Edward. Most people would not consider your request for help as a bother so if you have someone local who can help you finish getting your new tools setup, please ask them. If not, check for local store or group who might have someone who can help. you've gotten good advice and help already here, not more I can add to that probably as I am a relative newbie myself to the scrollsaw. Yes, the piece you started with is ambitious, but looks like you are doing well with it. Just take your time and don't worry about little miscuts as already noted, probably only you will know once the pattern is removed any way. The main thing I wanted to say though is thank you. Thank you for your service to our country and to the world. As a disabled vet, you have paid a large price for all of us and our freedoms. I am sorry for your injuries that caused your disability. I am sorry that as a result of your service you suffer with PTSD, but wanted you to know that I and my family and so many others appreciate you, your fellow servicemen and women, and your families and your sacrifices. I look forward to your participation here in the Village and seeing what you learn to do with your tools. Good luck and God Bless.
  3. Great work for a first try. You are well on your way. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Beautiful piece of artwork you have crafted and I am sure it will be well received. Thanks for showing it.
  5. Congratulations on another great day. You may break 1000 before the end of the year with only 30 more to go. Guess you will be ready for a break with Santa after Christmas!
  6. That's a puzzle Iggy, just give them the pieces to go with it and they can "replace" the puzzle pieces to their heart's content. Looks very nice - nice of you to be up to doing a special request for a friend.
  7. Thanks to everyone who donated designs this year. I have had a look and lots of new great additions added to the book. I hope if anyone cuts any of them, you will share some pics here in the group. Thanks Travis for your coordination and behind the scenes work to get it all pulled together.
  8. Working hard lately for sure Kevin. All look good. Hope your computer problems clear up for you.
  9. Those are indeed looking good. Look forward to seeing your progress. Thanks for showing.

  13. Ditto to all - especially for thanks to Travis for creating the Village for all of you who have welcomed all who come in. I am now in recovery mode from too much food. Happy Thanksgiving to all celebrating.

  15. Welcome to the Village. May be a little slow today, we have been celebrating our thanksgiving day here in the states. Lots of food and company if most ar like me. I am sure you will get good advice shortly. What kind of work do you do with your saw now? Are there things you are interested in doing that you can't do nowwith the saw you have?
  16. Nice first try Don. Thanks for sharing.
  17. I'm close, I'm in a suburb of the Knoxville, TN area. Dandridge is just about 30 miles slightly north and east of Knoxville. Pretty much the "Foothills of the Smokey Mountains". Maybe its time for you to come back and visit.
  18. Beautiful Job Newfie. Are these for your own family members or are you making them to sell? Either way - someone will be very lucky to be the recipient. On a side note, I have Corel Draw and can probably help you convert the file to another format if you cannot figure it out. You could either send me the file(s) and I can convert, or possibly give you some directions to try. (It's on another computer and been a while since I used it myself but thing I can recall enough to do it once I go back and refresh my memory. ) I could probably add in the bridges to. Just let me know if you want me to help with it. You can pm me here. Extended family descending on my house tomorrow for Thanksgiving but can help possible before or after that.
  19. I too am sorry to hear of the loss of your Cousin Amy. It is difficult to loose family at any time, more so right here at the start of the holidays. I will say a pray for all. It sounds like she was a wonderful woman who will be missed by so many, family, friends, patients and their families. I am sure her children will come to treasure those ornaments you have beautifully crafted for them. Thanks for showing.
  20. Definitely beautiful work and a great saying. Thanks for showing. I am sure she will love it and so will everyone who sees it.
