  1. Very nice. A great toy that works well, any child would love it.thanks for sharing.
  2. Beautiful pieces. When I saw the merry go round I was how cool, and thought it was my favorite then I saw the next piece with the water wheel and thought, no maybe not - as I looked further I realized I would have trouble picking a favorite. I do like the merry go round since it is different from many things people do with their saws. Thanks for sharing your photos.
  3. Another beautiful piece of artwork Dick. Thanks for sharing.
  4. No worries Dan, I appreciate it anytime you can get to it. Thanks.
  5. Don't worry - we all have those "age" moments from time to time. No wonder you were so impressed with the pattern maker's pattern though! Thanks for sharing the pattern too. For those like me who struggle sometimes finding things - here is a direct link to Roly's pattern: http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/gallery/image/10124-xmas-moose-pair-4inch/
  6. I agree with Kevin - looking very festive! I like them as you have painted. Very nice cutting work. thanks for sharing.
  7. Beautiful pieces that the Vets at your Church are going to appreciate Kepy. Thanks to them and all Vets for their service and sacrifice. Thanks to you for honoring them with such great cutting. Thanks for showing them here.

    Hello

Good luck. Perhaps you need to encourage your wife to learn the saw right along with you so she can do some of those projects she is lining up. LOL
  9. Very nice looking project. I am sur the customer will love it. I have always thought about framing photos of our homes we have had over our years together. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Nice start. They will really glitz up with that finish. Thanks for sharing.
  11. How inconsiderate of the buyers. Don't let hey realize if they buy them all they create more work for you and so close to the holidays. How rude! However, they really are cute little fellas so I can see why they want them. Just keep counting the money and you will be alright! How tall are they? If you or anyone recalls where the pattern can be found and can share that would be great. Think they would make cute gifts for friends and family. Thanks for showing.
  12. Glad you had a record day despite Matthew impinging on the week. Hopefully the area can recover from his wrath sooner then later. My prayers for all affected by the storm. I checked out your new ecommerce site. Its looking good and easy to navigate. Now you will need to make sure you add the info. to your cards and such so people who get your card from a purchase or visit know where to go and get more. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Wow Dave. Excellent work all around and I can't even begin to imagine that your customer would be anything but overjoyed with the piece of family art history you have perfectly created with your pattern making and scroll sawing skills. I an in awe of the detail work you have done here. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Very nice cutting. Love the butterfly and using the y as legs. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Thanks for sharing. I am sure your friend will love it in his Man Cave.
  16. Thanks for showing us the difference in using the torch and not John. I like them. Couple musicians in the family would love them I am sure.
  17. I got a magnifying light from JGR back in May, it made a huge difference in my "seeing". The magnification is most important to me! Then I got a second saw - I tried to get a different mag light locally that was not as expensive. It is not nearly as good, I get a lot more "shadow" and bouncing in the visual field then I do with the other one. I am amazed at the difference in them. Well worth the price difference on the 1st one. I tried to get a 2nd one while I was up there recently for another class and they were out of stock. Said manufacturer/supplier said they always get a run on them in the fall when school/colleges start back so I am waiting on them to call and let me know they have them in again. Guess I am going to have to move the 1st light to the 2nd saw until then. (Bit of a pain but using the 2nd saw more than the 1st.) Interestingly enough - when I was taking my 1st class at JGR's, they have them on all their saws - they said they had only had one person in all their years who said they couldn't use it as it caused them to see double. When I got mine on my saw initially - my DH tried it and said "whoa, I can't use that - I see double! Not sure why.
  18. Very neat idea. Waiting on my issue, looks like several great ideas are in there. Thanks for showing and explaining how you did it. You mentioned elsewhere you created a jig for cutting the ball on the bandsaw - as a newbie, I would love to see your jig for doing that if you would care to share. Thanks for showing.
  19. Wow, seems like I should have come on here YESTERDAY when I was struggling with the same type of question on a design or two I was working on cutting out. Some of the "design" lines were so teeny tiny I was trying to figure out how in the heck I was suppose to actually CUT them out. I tried, but the drill bits I had on hand were a little too big. Actually, I thought I had the smallest size I had already in the drill press but lesson learned - didn't double check it. It was too big in the end. I was using 2/0 blades but the hole I had drilled was too big so then I was trying to cut wider to accommodate of the too big of a hole I had drilled. I waited for DH to come home and he showed me where he had some smaller ones then I had. (That's when I also double checked and figured out I had had one smaller then I had in the press but it still wasn't small enough.) Now I will check and see if any of them are #68 or #70. If not, I will go find some. Thanks for asking "just what I needed" to know and to all those who answered!
  20. I myself am too new to give you any critique on your overall cutting. For your sixth piece - I think it looks pretty good. Will you improve with time and practice sure but the main question is do you like it enough to give it to your friends? If so, then they will like it too. Looking at the "hint of color" on the bird and the eggs my vote is no. I think it looks more like "mistakes" or "smudges" that were accidentally left rather than an enhancement to the piece its self. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Beautiful work on that adorable pattern Dick. Make sure you get some more done for the Craft Fair you and your daughter are doing. Should be a good seller.
  22. Very nice cutting. Thanks for showing.
  23. I am sure your grandchildren will love having them, meaning even more that you created them for them. Great that Russell could help you out by creating the patterns for you. Great that you remembered to come back and show him the finished project. Excellent work all around. Thanks for sharing.
