Hello Valerie and welcome to the Village. I think you will find a lot of helpful and wonderful people here in the village to share your scroll saw adventures with. I am so sorry for the loss of your two sons. As a mother of a daughter and a son, I can only imagine how horrible and difficult that would be for anyone to lose one child, much less two. I will pray that you can find solace in the happy times you had with your boys and know that your daughters are here for you as you all deal with the losses you have had in your family. It was very kind of your ex husband to get you a scroll saw to help you deal with your loss. Sounds like you two have a good working relationship still. That is great. I lost my mom back in April after a battle with Alzheimers. She was only 77. I started working with the scroll saw to do Intarsia work shortly thereafter. I was a newbie to the saw and to Intarsia but have found that I enjoy it and it helps me when I am feeling down about the loss of my mom. It requires me to "focus" in on the task at hand. I pray that you can find comfort as you explore this new art form. We love to see pictures here in the village (and I have been remiss in posting many myself lately). So please, show us what you are doing now with your scroll saw and the yard work that you did/do with your jig saw. God Bless.
