  1. That's just beautiful Jeff. I am not sure which enhances which more - the wood burl or your excellent craftsmanship. Either way, its definitely a winner. You're wife was right. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Glad you got your new saw in Iggy and that you were able to get done the projects you needed before work called you away for the week. To bad you can't travel with the saw! Your new horse puzzles look great. I am sure they will just add to your clientele list. Thanks for sharing your photos. Let us know how your event goes next weekend.
  3. Looking good Kevin. You'll have a large collection done soon. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Glad you got it on your computer Marg. That's step 1, now take your time figuring out how it works. I have Inkscape and probably know just enough to be dangerous. I like to say that I am a jack of all trades and master of none!
  5. one more person and we have 10 (debinoz listed twice by mistake) - I am a newbie so my ornaments were pretty basic ones. Looking forward to seeing what all everyone is submitting.
  6. Glad you and momma were able to spend some time together but clearly, you found more time then many of us to still get to the saw. Excellent looking projects. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Good morning Rob Roy (well, its morning for me still - you would clearly be into the early evening I think.) My scottish roots would spring from my mother's family through my maternal grandfather, his mother, her mother, and back and back for a total of 18 generations to the House of Stewart to King Robert II Stewart, the grandson of King Robert the Bruce (so King Robert the Bruce would be his 20th great, and thus my 22nd great grandfather). My family (my husband, myself and our children) visited Scotland and Ireland back a few years ago. I tried to lay claim to my throne then when we visited the castle but because my lineage seems to spring at some point through an illegitimate line (which might explain how they eventually ended up in America. ) my claims were ignored. - I can't lay claim to tracking all this down - my sister did and put it all together in a book. She has 9 pages of charts showing the linage directly back from my Grandfather to King Bruce. It was really interesting to see and read. While we were there in Scotland and Ireland, I realized why so many people from Scotland and Ireland settled in this area of the US when they came over to America. The East TN area I live in now in particular reminds me a lot of what the Scotland and Ireland areas I visited were like. My apologies for getting us off topic Casey!
  8. Glad you have come out of lurkdom and joined in here on the village. A welcome to you from a relative newbie myself (trying to decide when I can remove the newbie moniker ) - Coming from the South - some here still wouldn't call me a Southerner even though I have been here since I was 9 years old (I tell them I got here as fast as I could.) Look forward to seeing what you are doing with that new workshop and saw.
  9. All nicely cut and put together. Thanks for sharing your photos.
  10. Must be my Scottish roots that get me in trouble. LOL very nice project. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Glad your wife is okay and it was not a malignant tumor. She will appreciate your thoughtfulness in marking the importance of this event to both of you. Thanks for sharing. Edited to fix a typo or two (may still have missed something though.
  12. I thank all of our vets and your families for the service and sacrifices that you have each made for each of us, our country, and the world. I had a grandfather, father, brother, and father-in-law that I know all served at some point in various branches for various lengths of time. God bless you everyone. Great project to recognize and commemorate your father. Thanks for sharing your phot of it. Edited to fix typo(s) I saw. Probably still some though.
  13. Excellent pattern and excellent work on cutting and finishing. I know the recipient will love it. Thanks for remembering to come back and show us the finished piece.
  14. What a beautiful scene John. Excellent work. Thanks for sharing.
  15. I can only imagine the words that would have come out of my mouth should that happen! I am so sorry but I hope that you are able to put it back together again just like Humpty Dumpty. I agree, both are excellent projects but the cabin one just made me wish I had a cabin to hang it in. Thanks for sharing your photos and your heartbreak. Edited to fix multiple typos thanks to trying to post from my IPad.

Very nice project. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Welcome Jim from the other side of the mountains. I live in East TN. Look forward to seeing your work with the saw.
  18. For those who might not check or follow his site, Steve Good has add a very nice pattern to commemorate the Cubbies 2016 World Series Championship. I expect many of these will be cut to celebrate this curse ending championship! Even if you are not a Cubbie fan, but enjoy baseball or know others who do (think children, grandchildren, coaches, etc.) the pattern could be easily used to celebrate other teams, players, coaches, etc. You can find it here: http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2016/11/chicago-cubs-2016-worlds-series-trophy.html
  19. I wanted to update this with some info. I figured out - when I select to go to my User Gallery, depending on how I get there - either on the right side or the left side I see a selection to "edit" next to a delete button - when I clicked on "edit" - I got a list of all my images with everything in "editable" format so I was easily able to add tags, add description, the pattern maker's name, where to find the pattern, etc. for each one. When I had them all filled out and done, I just had to click Finish and Save. This is great when you have several you need to edit like I did. Just wanted to share in case someone else needed to edit several after posting them.
  20. Beautiful cutting of Grandpa's pattern. I love that pattern. Thanks for sharing your photo of it.
  21. Glad you have found another avenue for selling your work Kevin. These look great. Glad you found your cable and are able to share photos of your work again.
  22. Some great looking birdhouses there for the upcoming holidays Larry. Thanks for sharing your "how to" on the using of fish hook earrings instead of screw hooks. I appreciate you sharing your photos to show us what you have done.
  23. Beautiful piece of artwork you have created Helmut. Lots of detail cutting. All looks great. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Welcome to the Village Chris. If you have been a lurker for a while, you know that I am a newbie from East TN. Many on here seem to do other types of woodworking besides just scroll work. Many are turners too. I look forward to seeing some of your work. Would love to see some of your ornaments as I am trying to decide what to try and make for Christmas gifts this year.
  25. Another beautiful piece of artwork you have created Dick. Thanks for sharing. Glad you are pushing your comfort level as your skill set is definitely ready. Thanks for the update on Theresa, I too had wondered where she was - had assumed she was busy getting ready for the craft fair. Sorry to hear she is working 3 jobs that is keeping her away from the saw. Good luck with the fair and enjoy your vacation.
