  1. That is a beautiful piece of work. I am glad you are keeping it for yourself. So often we make things and never keep any of them. Thanks for your service as a Firefighter. Having had my family home burn when I was in college, I appreciate all the work firefighters do. More unsung heroes that protect us!
  2. Looks very cute and would think it would be a good seller at a craft show. But then, you never know. I agree the color makes it pop but you want to limit your "hands on time" to create them so you make more $. So as Dave suggested you might try just using the black backboard and see how it looks. You could also "spray paint" some backers in other colors perhaps so it is all one solid color but something other than black. Depends really on what you think is going to sell the best and how much work you want to put into making them. Since you are "testing the waters" with this one show. You might have a few of different kinds on hand and see which ones seem to sell the best.
  3. Thanks to everyone who has shared their knowledge and wisdom on this thread. I and I am sure other newbies appreciate your knowledge, input, insight and willingness to share.
  4. Since you have them both cut, always a wise choice to let the customer decide. She might decide to take both.
  5. First, thank you for your service and for all of the vets here thank you. As we approach the 15th anniversary of 9/11, I am thankful for the men and women who have served and protected our country and freedoms. Second, that is a beautiful piece of art that you have created. I like it just like it is - no "frame" needed. I like it on the pallet wood as is. Thanks for sharing your photo of your project.
  6. Another vote for with the names. Stain adds a subtle difference on the "finish" but the names make it personalized and people always like personalized. Can the one with names be stained.
  7. Thanks for beating me to the punch and asking Steve. I had seen several people mention this and I had wondered too.

  20. Welcome from another Tennessean. I'm a relative newbie to the saw and to the Village. Have found everyone here great and quite helpful with any questions. I started out with Intarsia. Trying to get a good grasp on that but doesn't keep me from seeing other things people are doing with their saws and wanting to try all of that too.
