  1. I agree with Len, ornament looks good. Glad to hear vibration is not an issue with it.
  2. Thanks for sharing Dick. always good to learn info on the different saws out there.
  3. Looks good. Glad it has helped to increase your sales. Great idea on repurposing the wire shelving. Your art looks awesome. I understand why it would be selling once customers could see it better on display. Hoping for continued increase in sales for you. thanks for sharing your pics on your setup. The key is to finding the setup that works best for you where you are. I am one of those people who tend to not want to "walk" into the booth area but "Browse" from afar until something catches my eye. With your display at the front, I would be able to "see" your work much better.
  4. Ditto to what everyone else has already said. Your Cat looks great. Thanks for sharing your image. One day I will get brave and try this type of work on my saw perhaps but right now I have plenty of things to learn about Intarsia work - that should keep me busy for quite some time. However, seeing yours and others pictures like this have be putting this type of cutting on my "some day" list.
  5. Thanks for sharing where to find the pattern Rick.
  6. Not Dick, but I believe that all of our Sheriff Deputies still where a badge that says sheriff on them so that it simply shows they work for the Sheriff's dept. (versus the City police for example) - They are all "sheriffs" - they are just "deputy" sheriffs while THE Sheriff is the HEAD sheriff. Least that's my understanding. None in my family and I don't encounter them too often though (thank goodness) but that is what I seem to recall.
  7. Thanks for letting me know where to find it Kevin.
  8. As everyone has stated, that is very kind of you Dick and I am sure they are all appreciated and kept as a wonderful remember since by the family who get them. thsnks for sharing your photo.
  9. I agree, the vases you have cut look fabulous. As a fellow newbie, it looks like you are doing a great job learning to work your saw. thanks for sharing.
  10. Nice job Dick. Steve has several good police patterns there. I am sure your local sherriff's office will appreciate your work. Thanks for sharing your photo.
  11. Both look great as everyone has stated. Thanks for sharing.
  12. That looks great Edward. The blue does pop on the image.
  13. Thanks for sharing Kevin. God to know. I will have to keep this in mind if my Dewalt 788 starts sounding bad or acting up.
  14. Looks good - at least to this newbie - I figured I would stay away from spiral blades for a while - enough trouble getting used to cutting with a flat blade.
  15. Wow, those are very nice Dave. Thanks for showing them. I may have to do something similar up on the House Divided one and give to my Son for Christmas. He will be starting his 2nd year at Univ. Georgia making him a "Dawg" fan and I am a die hard, blood runs deep orange TN Vol fan! Sports stuff is always going to be big sellers - just look how much we pay to "watch" a game anymore!
  16. Sorry funds are low for you right now Kevin. Not sure pharmacist will help you out but I wanted to say that I really like that pattern and you did a great job cutting it out. Can you tell me where to find the pattern? I think it would make a great gift for my sister.
  17. Wow, looks awesome. I am in awe of your work. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Thanks Kevin - I will have to see if I can find some old threads on that. You're welcome. Glad I could help. They were great to work with but wish I could find more local to get to save on shipping.
  19. Thanks for sharing your picture of your work Edward. I am sure any Fireman and/or his family would love it. It is beautiful. Great job on cutting it out. Especially on all those stars!
  20. Hey Rick. Project looks great. However, I do confess that it is hard for me to think Christmas when it is in the mid-90s outside. As a newbie, I am always interested in finding new patterns and i really like this one. Dave mentions that he was looking at that plan in an old magazine, is that also where you found it? If so, could you all identify the magazine edition and such or tell me where else it might be found? Thanks. Thanks for sharing your photo of the finished piece. I enjoy seeing the finish work everyone does so I can "learn" something.
  21. Thanks for the info. MrsN - always good to learn and understand about how certain characteristics in wood come about. Especially for a newbie like me.
  22. Nice looking bird Kevin. Great that you have a friend fluttering around to keep you company now. Looks like you deserve that nap all the work you accomplished.
  23. Beautiful work. One day I might get brave and try one. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Wayne - i am adding in a link again to the Handsomewoodman site - not sure if it works any better then one Paul added. You might need to add in a www in front of it. http://thehandsomewoodman.com Be_O_Be - I think it may be more of a "regional" wood - regional being the mid-west Pacific West Coast. I have looked a little for it in my area (Eastern TN) and have not yet found it readily here. I will keep looking for it. I have checked once or twice at Jefferies Fine lumber which is close to Judy Gale Roberts studio and where she gets some of her wood from but haven't found it there. She had created a sample of her "trigger fish" for her beginner Intarsia class from some blue pine. She is using it in her Intermediate class in the Fall to make an elephant so I plan to ask her where she is sourcing it from. Would love to find somewhere a little closer to me. No Menards here but I have heard others say they found some there like Sycamore57 who is over in NW Indiana looks like. In the interim, the only place I really found it was at the Handsomewoodman site which is not really convent to you in Ohio or me in East TN. Which means shipping is close to the price of the wood. I did order a couple of wider and longer pieces from them a couple of weeks ago. They were received in excellent condition and look very nice. I have not yet attempted to cut anything from them but look forward to using it. I love the look of it.
  25. These look great and I am sure that they will be appreciated and then admired by many customers. Thanks for sharing the pic.
