  1. Nice work on those Les - by the way - M-e-l-a-n-i-e is how you spell my first name for mine. Just saying because people often misspell it.
  2. Nice work - any piano player would love them. Thanks for showing.
  3. Nice work. I like it. Mine is on the same train with Marg's - leave's and quite often never returns.
  4. I am sorry to hear that you lost one of your precious daughters. I am sure she would love that cute little frog and the significance behind your usage.
  5. I like the frog! He is cute. Ray, that is my mug in my profile pic.
  6. While they have pointed you to Iggy / Scott as King of the puzzles - his primary puzzle is animal puzzles that stand up and do not have a picture. It sounds like you are more wanting to do more of a traditional style jigsaw picture using pictures of yours adhered to a backing - is that correct? If so, I know it has been discussed here in the past, but I may have to do some digging to see if I can find some old threads on it.
  7. @octoolguy Ray - I only remember because sometimes I am on my iPad and its a little frustrating because its a little different and when I look for something and can't find it easily or quickly - like the birthday list!
  8. Ray - gave same answer I was about to give when his popped up so I edited.
  9. Thanks everyone for the nice comments. @kmmcrafts Kevin. Those cell phone holders as I am sure you can tell, do not take much time at all to actually cut and put together. You could probably get them done sometime when you have just a little free time and before your ADD/ADHD kicked in. @wombatie - Marge, glad I could motivate you with those cell phone holders. I am trying to decide if I want to get the animal patterned ones too. Not sure what I am going to do with them, since I don't sell. I did take the one kicking out for my own use. May set them out at Easter and tell family take what they want. But then my feelings might be hurt if they take nothing!
  10. Nice Work Mimi. Glad you have been able to make the sawdust fly. What is the plan for the Mickey heads? Trivets? Something else> Thanks for showing.
  11. Some beautiful projects you have crafted. The Chalet is amazing. I don't believe you will ever see me doing that pattern. glad you persevered and got it done. Thanks for showing.
  12. That looks great Al. Thanks for sharing it. My husband's great-great grandfather was a blacksmith. We have some of his old tools, his homemade desk, and bench from the shop and his "book" where he kept track of the work he did and how much he received in payment. I think I will download this pattern and maybe make it for my 91 year old father-in-law or my husband. Edited to say, Al - I went and downloaded the pattern - thank you. I also looked around at all your other free patterns and downloaded a few more of those. I then quickly glanced through some of your "for sale patterns." You have lots of nice patterns on your site and for a very reasonable price. If you haven't already, you need to add your site to the Pattern Shops area here in the Village so people know to check it out.
  13. You are doing some great work. Love the latest ones. I have that "cracked" one downloaded to do at some point. Thanks for showing.
  14. Hi Al and welcome to the Village from East Tennessee. Of course you may join the party - the more the merrier. I have family in the Cinn. area - I was born around there and grew up a Reds fan with the Big Red Machine in the 70's. Look forward to your participation.
  15. Here are some recent projects that I have been working on. Some others still in the works. First one is an Intarsia piece. It is a JGR pattern. I left the star hanging off the tip off. I used Aspen and blue pine as I recall. Then this one is also one I just added to the scroll saw challenge for boxes so you may see it twice. The directions and the patterns for it came from the staff of Woodworker's Journal - Keepsake Box from Aug. 20, 2014 and was found here: http://www.woodworkersjournal.com/keepsake-box-project/ I used poplar because I had plenty of that on hand and THEN read that it is not a good wood for staining. (It's grain pattern tends to absorb unevenly.) I had it because that is what I use when I am cutting out Iggy/Harvey's animal puzzles and I don't "stain" those. I did apply a pre-stain wood conditioner. Then applied American Chestnut wood stain about 3 or 4 cuts. Then added a shellac finish. It turned out ok I think but next time will not use poplar when I want to stain. I am still trying to decide on what I want to put as far as a handle (if at all) and whether I want to flock the inside of the box, and if so, what color. Then, these are cell phone holders that I got the patterns from scroller online here: http://www.scrolleronline.com These still don't have a finish on them but I am going to be a clear coat poly on them. and finally, these are the latest "band saw boxes" that I have created from David Picciuto's book (I previously shared the first two.)
  16. Ok, this will be a duplicate post as I am adding this box to my "what I have been up to lately post" with some other things but this is the box I made on my scroll saw last week. 17. It would probably take up a few months of weekends if I attempted it. Lovely work.
  18. Brenda - I bought his book and have made a few of them, including that “Chicago” box. I really like that one. I previously posted pictures of the first two I made. They are in this thread: https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/32407-first-boxes-i-have-made/?tab=comments#comment-363644 I have since made 3 more from the book including the Chicago box and have another that is glued up that I need to cut. I really need to post my pictures of the last ones I have done. Been procrastinating on them while I did other things. You will enjoy making them. I look forward to seeing what you create. I will try to get photos of the most recent ones done posted tomorrow. Edited to add links to the most recent patterns I did from David's box including the "Chicago box" - https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/33097-some-recent-projects-i-have-done/
  19. Nice looking projects all around. Great use of scraps. I can see why you would want to test drive them. Thanks for sharing.
  20. I always admire these. Think they are beautiful. You have done your usual outstanding work. Maybe one day I will give one a try. Thanks for showing yours.
  21. Excellent work all around. I really like the basket. Thanks for showing.
  22. Nice work Lawson. All 3 look great. Thanks for showing.
  23. Welcome to the Village from East Tennessee. Look forward to your participation.
  24. Doesn’t every project require multiple trips to HD or Lowe’s? or, is thst just my hubby? I don’t mind, I usually go along to see what I can find.
  25. Happy Birthday to your Grandson. What a handsome young man he is. Looks like a fun little guy too. Great job on his cake topper. I think he will be getting lots of things made by Grandma over the years. They will be treasured for sure. Thanks for sharing.
