  1. You can try to reach out to @leescrolls he is the owner/operator for that magazine. Here is a direct link to their website: https://scrollerschoicemag.wixsite.com/home It has the "Spring 2019" edition showing. It notes that like JohnB said, that right now they are not able to send out print copies, but you can purchase and get PDFs. I got one copy once a year or so back. Right now, I would probably buy any single PDF copy that I might be interested in but wouldn't "subscribe." You can see his full details/explanation on the website. You can see the back issues that they have done here: https://scrollerschoicemag.wixsite.com/home/buy-back-issues I understand that it would be very difficult to try and get a magazine up and off the ground, I would hope that they can make it work but they have struggled for a while now.
  2. We bought a small metal can with a lid at Home Depot or Lowes that we use to put our rags in.
  3. I don’t believe you had shown that one yet Kevin. Very nice.
  4. Beautiful piece that your daughter is sure to love. Thanks for showing.
  5. Always trying to make the Ladies happy aren’t you Kevin. you must hangout next door at the Yoga shop a lot, are you taking classes? Nice work with a lot of bling.
  6. Great minds think alike. but @Trackman says it’s a portrait of his wife. So, she must be Brenda’s twin. Great work Brenda.
  7. All of my scroll saws have always been on manufacturer’s metal stands and we have always added locking wheels to increase flexibility and ability to move equipment around as needed. Pretty much almost every piece of equipment we have in the shop is on wheels. Some are on stands/cabinets with wheels that hubby made. The planet and the jointer I believe are on one of those stands which you “flip” depending upon which piece of equipment you need to use. We have never had any issues with the wheels on there and locked as needed.
  8. Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Lots of choices out there. Most are good saws. Look at the Jet. Look at the Seyco saw. Look at the Pegas brand. Look at the King Brand or look for an Excalibur. All of the aforementioned are some sort of reincarnation of the original Excalibur Scroll Saw. Look at the Hawks and the Hegners. Then when you see one that appeals to you, ask questions on it specifically and those who use it, or have used it, will give you an honest assessment from their personal usage. What one person likes or wants in a Saw, is not what someone else wants or likes. But, there are plenty to choose from, especially if price is no object. You just have to decide which is right for you.
  10. Hello Harry. Welcome to our village. Glad you found us and look forward to your participation.
  11. Welcome to the Village Bob from East Tennessee in the USA. Glad you have found us. Lots of folks here cut portraits, but I don’t know if that is the number one interest. Lots of people doing all kinds of work with their scroll saws. Might be interesting to do a survey and see. I think most of us cut many things. I have done a Intarsia, word art, 3D projects, compound cutting, and a little fretwork. I have yet to do a portrait. Look forward to your participation.
  12. Nice work all around, thanks for sharing the plate idea. Like others, I have not seen thst done previously. It works great as you have shown.
  13. Looks nice Kevin. The happy couple will love it. We will celebrate 34 years of wedded bliss in July. (Yes, I was a child bride. )
  14. Looks great Pete. I see you and my hubby graduated from the same husband school - you learned to say, yes dear, and understand the “happy wife, happy life” mantra. Now, she will be happy to let you go and golf.
  15. Looks nice Monti. Good to see you.
  16. Les, I think everyone here covered most all the bases. I did find using a skip tooth blade worked better for me then a reverse tooth. I mainly wanted to express condolences on the loss of your friend.
  17. Ralph, sorry to hear of your injury. What were you doing - playing tackle football with grandkids? Prayers said that all goes well with your healing.
  18. Hey @Frank Pellow Frank, not sure what the problem is with Al's site for you. I was able to go there, go to the Free patterns link and this pattern is the first one there. Here is a direct link to the pattern its self on Al's site. See if this works for you. http://baggetta.com/pebooks/Free_RetiredNoMyProblem/Retired Not My Problem Pattern.pdf
  19. Aw Kevin, it’s so nice to see what a great job you did cutting this out. Looks nice. I need to give it is try myself so that I can learn better how to space the wording better for cutting so as to prevent fragile areas. Thanks for showing it as a finished project.
  20. Nice job and your sister-in-law will love it I am sure. It is nice of you to do that for her. Thanks for showing.
  21. I feel your pain Kevin. I haven't used ours in so long that I think I will have to go back to square one and relearn what all I learned and fear I have forgotten. I may have forgotten how to use my scroll saw too. First one thing and then another has kept me out of the shop then not. Cousin's daughter's wedding this weekend. Maybe next week. I never figured out the touch plate yet either. I do have several successful projects with it, so I know it can be done.
  22. Thanks Al, Going to check it out shortly. However, it seems the link to your free page site is not the correct link. It seems to be linking back to this thread and not your free page.
  23. Welcome to the Village from a Neighbor just up north from you, in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains in East TN. I will wave as I drive back and forth visiting my children south of you. Both are in the Atlanta area right now. Look forward to your participation here and seeing what you do.
  24. I'm with Marge, who is "she" - thought you lived alone. Nice work. I hope getting rid of it means you are finding people to buy it.
