  1. I like that one Jim. Can I ask what price you plan to sell them for? I know @Denny Knappen also made some and put in his shop As well. Maybe he can share what he is selling them for as well. What I have seen online, they sell for $20-$25 (or listed for that anyway. ) I bought both the sets from online and showed them here before. Enjoyed making them and then started designing my own. I need to get photos of them to share. I have given several away, and people always ask about them. I keep tossing around idea of trying to sell some or not. considering an Etsy shop. Kevin, @kmmcraftshas planted the seed. Just trying to decide if I really want to go there. also, trying to decide exactly what I would sell in shop. I also do other craft type items and tossing around ideas in my head. Need to decide and “get off the pot” as my dad used to say. It’s the whole shipping that keeps me hesitant. Maybe some of you guys who ship can give some helpful info.on that. I was considering starting with a local show this Fall at a college homecoming and talking to a local store that sells handmade items and going from there. Just need to take the plunge.
  2. Hello Miran and welcome to the Village. Glad you found us and joined in. Look forward to your participation. Beautiful pups and children, yes, you can mention websites and sources. As you indicate you are new to the Saw, you might check out our pattern area where you can find lots of free patterns contributed by fellow villagers. Plus the resources section that gives you links to lots of great sites. If you have not already discovered Steve Good’s blog, where he gives away a free pattern almost every day, you can find it here: http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/ you can search his blog and see what he has provided over the years or you can see and search his full pattern catalog here: https://www.stevedgood.com/catalog/index.php
  3. Glad it was just the honey do list keeping you busy and yes, the wife is always right - you know that. Never question.
  4. You get one for you, and one for me and then you can come visit your friends here and deliver mine to me.
  5. Yes, as you discovered it can come in handy for several things not just doing actual scroll work. You are right, it is harder then it looks - especially if you are trying to cut a straight line. Give it time, you will get there. In the interim, be sure to ask any questions you may have here in the Village.
  6. Thank you @JimErn and @John B for answering my questions. We have one of those food vacuum sealers that I had used previously with my animal puzzles like Iggy makes. But then, I was just mainly sealing them up to keep them together and gave to friends or family. Not selling. I am sure that they are more "expensive" probably to use however.
  7. Amazing work and the patience to do that. My hat goes off to you for sure. Your daughter will treasure it no doubt. Thanks for showing.
  8. What a neat idea Charlie. I had not seen those before. You did a great job. Thanks for sharing. I was just thinking the other day that I hadn't seen you on here in a while. Hope all is well with you and your's.
  9. Nice work Les. One of my favorite hymns. Like Kirk, I love to hear it on the bagpipes. Thanks for showing. Afraid I can't help on who did the pattern though.
  10. Sorry to hear your employment is going through changes that effects so many and their families. Glad you were able to find a job, good luck with that and hope it allows you the shop time on those days off. Glad you were able to make this for the family. Thank them for their daughter's service. You did a good job. They will love it. I may steal your idea and make one for one of my husband's partner's family. There son graduated high school in May and has started his basic training for the Navel Academy. I know they would love it. Thanks for showing.
  11. Seems there are a variety of sizes on Amazon. Found here: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=impulse+sealer&ref=nb_sb_noss John, on size - you said you have the 400mm one so it shows that would equate to be about 16" - can you give some insight into why you find that a good size? Do you think smaller would work - looks like they also have 8" and 12" for example that cost even less - for most puzzles like Iggy does, 16" would definitely not be needed. I am assuming that you can use smaller with the one you have but clearly are limited to no bigger on that or any of the smaller ones. I assume it is like those food vacuum seal type machines and bags - it is just "heat sealing" the ends of the "bag" cellophane? But does not pull the air out?
  12. Wooden Lace, would love to see your wine glass caddy if you would care to share. Thanks. I have considered a SandFlee but since I have taken up the woodworking hobby a little over 3 years ago, I have not found any for sale any where. If anyone knows if they are selling them again, or has one they want to get rid of let me know.
  13. Some more great projects Kevin. Thanks for showing.
  14. Looks good Edward. Thanks for showing,
  15. We. An be our own worst critic. Looks good to me. Thanks for showing,
  16. Nice job. I really like the two sided colors for different seasons. Kudos to your sister for thinking about doing it that way.
  17. That is EXACTLY why, when DH bought my Seyco saw for me a couple of years ago, and then wanted to move out my Excalibur saw I said NO - I NEED them both. I want to use the Excalilbur for angle cuts like this and want to be able to set it and leave it. Not sure he understood exactly why since he doesn't use the scroll saws and I'm sure he rolled his eyes at me but he set it up so I still have them both in "his" workshop.

  25. Please feel free to share anything I ever share here. We all learn from each other and I am just glad when I am able to give a little back here on the Village. I am sure it could be put together a little better then how I put it down - just as the thoughts about blades came out of my brain!
