  1. Thanks, good to know. For $100, I would too.
  2. Just wanted to give an update on the Seyco Drill being discussed here and noted to be out of stock now for months. I reached out to Ray and Seyco earlier this morning to ask about this as I have looked at them off and on, but was always put off a little by the price of it so wasn't sure I wanted to spend that much on it. This is the reply on got in reply to my question as to whether they would be getting them back in stock or if it had been discontinued: "We have had numerous delays from materials sources that has obviously caused us to have to delay producing the new design made necessary from unavailability of former materials. We are anxiously awaiting a promised delivery that should allow us to finish the tools and be back in operation within 30 days. We apologize for this unavoidable set of circumstances and appreciate you hanging in there with us. We promise they will be ready as soon as we can get our hands on materials needed to assemble the drills." I asked that they notify me when they had them back so I could decide if I wanted one or not. If they do, I will post here in the Village for others interested. @Dave Monk can you elaborate a bit on your statement that you wish it was built a bit better? Kevin - let us know how you like your setup. I have looked at some of those - I have also asked hubby to make me something similar to the Seyco tool - time is his factor more then anything else. I just haven't pushed it to the head of the list. Maybe I should. It looks relatively simple to make. What I like is the ability to move it around on a project and get to all areas easily.
  3. Looks great Dave. I have no idea on pricing, but, if you really don’t want to sell it, set what you consider a really high price for it so it probably won’t sell, BUT if it does, you will know someone appreciated your work and was willing to compensate you for it by paying that price. Win-Win.
  4. Yes, he posted yesterday in the subform - SSV News, Help & Feedback here:
  5. Welcome home to the village. I hope that your cancer care and treatment took care of that nasty disease. I look forward to seeing what you are doing with your old hegner.
  6. Hi David and welcome to the Village from across the pond. I am in the eastern part of the state of Tennessee, in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains. Glad you decided to break out the scroll saw and join us. Lots of great people here, always willing to help, give advise, show off work to inspire you, and cheer you on. Look forward to your participation.
  7. Glad I could be a source of motivation Paul. I agree, great use of scrap woods. I really like the woods you used. Looks nice and I am sure your son will love it. Thanks for showing yours.
  8. Which means you have yet to see the most beautiful part of our great long state Paul! Come visit us in East TN and see the Smokey Mountains!
  9. Good luck Ike and hope you have a good day in sells and you get to do the trial stuff you are interested in.
  10. Thank you everyone for your kind comments.
  11. Les and Wayne, I was pretty sure that Albert had added his pattern shop to that list previously so I just went and checked and he is there. Check here - scroll down - they are listed alphabetically: https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/pattern-shops/ It is listed as "Real Wood Crafts" and he is listed as the Designer. You an also give him a review there. Looks like nobody has yet.
  12. Enjoy Chattanooga and your granddaughter.
  13. Katie - that looks great an I can see why your Mom loved it. You better get to work on the summer and fall ones now so you are ready and can give them to her without her "hinting" - or wait for the hint and then she will think you are really fast!
  14. Nice, but I might argue about the computer - you do use it to store and print the patterns from.
  15. Thank you Paul and Kevin for your kind words. Paul, the dowel is glued into the bottom and then the friction/tightness of it in the top holds it quite well. I have seen some similar where some people used some tiny magnets in them however.
  16. I found these in the Spring, 2018 Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Magazine. The article was entitled "Heart Shaped Boxes" but there was also the pattern for the "guitar pick" shaped box and an oval box in the pullout section. I have not made an oval one yet. There are several guitar players in my family so I thought they would make nice gifts for them to store picks in. One has been given to my husband. The other two will probably be given to my niece and nephew who play probably for Christmas. (I don't know that I have had anything ready for Christmas this early before! ) The one I gave my husband is made of walnut in the middle and the top and the bottom are from over 100 year old oak. The walnut was from trees from the yard of the house he grew up in and was weathered in an old barn they had for years. The oak came from that old barn wood its self. He had taken the walnut several years ago and made some things with it. This was some scrap pieces. We tore the barn down last year. The other two pieces are maple on the top and butternut in the middle.
  17. Beautiful cutting of a great pattern. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Sorry to hear you have been ill. Glad to hear you are doing better. Hate it when we are kept out of the shop. Your’s is now welcoming with your great sign. Nice work. Love it with that font. Thanks for showing.
  19. Always fun to god a new toy, err tool. Glad you got to upgrade and are enjoying.

    About Me

Hi Tom and welcome to the. Ill age from just across the mountain in East Tennessee. Glad you joined and look forward to your participation.
  21. There is a pattern by him in the latest Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts magazine (mine was just delivered Sat.) it’s the Summer 2019, Issue 75. It is a pattern of a great white shark.
  22. And the raccoons are in the pattern library here in the Village. It is “raccon2” (note the typo in raccoon if searching)
  23. When my daughter moved to the Atlanta, GA area for school - i finally got my first couple of trips to Ikea in. (Closest one to me.) We bought her some of that self assembly stuff. Good thing she, my son and hubby is good with pictures and putting things together like that! I'd still be struggling with it and its been over 9 months now. They are all much more mechanically inclined then I am I'm afraid. My son used to love putting lego projects together when he was little, the bigger the better.
  24. Hi Ed and welcome to the Village from East Tennessee. I started scrolling a few years back once my kiddos were in college as well.
  25. It is. They are well over $100 usually. Nice work Larry. That's a beautiful box. thanks for sharing.
