  1. @mahendra did a great job I. Making you the pattern. You did great working cutting. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Travis, I too will do my best to get you 5 newcpatterns. Hopefully we can get to at least 10 this year. Maybe more. for those considering it, they don’t have to be complicated. Simple is good. Makes for great use by beginners. Who else is joining us? Come on, you know you want too.
  3. Love the feathers Brad. Thanks for sharing how you use the scraps. Hope this means you are doing better and getting some shop time in. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your daughter. I can only imagine how difficult that was for your family, prayers said for your wife’# knee replacement to go well.
  4. Beautiful work for an excellent group of servicemen and women. I send my thanks for all branches of the service. Thanks for sharing your project.
  5. Nice work Steve. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Whew, just in time - but actually still a few hours of Halloween left! These "Ghost Goodie Holders" were from Paul Meisel (www.meiselwoodhobby.com) and provided for free last Fall by Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts magazine on their website and can be found here: http://scrollsawer.com/2017/08/01/ghost-goodie-holders/ - (This is cross posted on the magazine's forum.) I have been meaning to make them but I tend to procrastinate, and life (including a week of vacation a few weeks ago) always seems to get in the way as well. Of course, my dear hubby has been asking if I was going to get them done in time for Halloween and I did (barely). There were a couple of reasons for making these. First, I thought they were cute. Second, as I think I have previously noted, my husband's Aunt use to do a lot of painting of such items. Her husband would cut them out for her on the scroll saw, and she painted them. They were the ones that first got me interested in owning and trying to use a scroll saw. Though they are now gone, I have many things they did that I love. Especially holiday items. She would have liked these and done a much better job painting them then I did and would have added a lot more "detail." I was just happy to get them done! I have actually had them cut out for a few weeks, that was the easy part. Then I procrastinated on the painting. Now I remember why I think I like the look of "bare wood." Now, I just need to put some "treats" on them. Everyone have a happy and safe halloween.
  7. Glad to hear that your move has gone well Kris and you have a great room for your hobby. Look forward to hearing more. Glad you were able to move close to your family.
  8. Nice work Kevin (as always ). I have never seen the top one, Jesus, with the words added. I like that. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Hi Michael and welcome to the village from East Tennessee. Glad to have you join us. Congratulations on your retirement. Glad you rotator cuff surgery went well and you are able to start using your saw. Look forward to your participation and seeing some of your work. My Golden Retriever doesn't seem to care much at all for being in the shop while I am scrolling. She prefers the comforts and little noise of the house it seems.
  11. Hello from East Tennessee. Glad to have you join the Village Fran. Look forward to your participation.
  12. Beautiful Helper! Nice job on the project. Lettering still scares me I am afraid.
  13. Welcome to the Village Andy from across the Pond in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains in East Tennessee. I had the pleasure of visiting Scotland a few years ago. it was a beautiful area. I forget where all we went though!
  14. Here is a link to his obituary that was shared on the SSWC Magazine's Forum. Looks like they may have an Intarsia pattern of Homer and Carol's already planned for the next issue. https://www.eliasfh.com/notices/Homer-Bishop The article index for the magazine shows that Homer and Carol had 11 articles previously in that magazine. http://scrollsawer.com/article-index/ - If you put Bishop in the search box, it will show the articles they did. I did a screen capture since the link wouldn't show just their articles for those who might want to see. If you click on it, it will show up larger so you can read it.
  15. Nice work all around Pete. I too really like the birdhouses. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Welcome from East Tennessee. Glad you have joined us. Look forward to your participation and seeing some of your work. I have not been brave enough to try spiral blades yet. I hear it can be a love or hate relationship with those. I originally started with Intarsia work about 2 1/2 years ago. Thanks to all the great folks here in the Village, I have expanded that out into other areas of cutting,
  17. Kevin, try these links and see if you can get there. The first one is two the three jack-o-lanterns you did above. http://scrollsawer.com/2017/08/01/nr-festive-jack-o-lanterns/ and then this one will get you to several other Halloween patterns: http://scrollsawer.com/2017/08/01/halloween-projects/ and this one should take you to the first page of all their free patterns on their website. Hopefully you can get ther and find some patterns you like and can use. http://scrollsawer.com/category/patterns/
  18. Nice work all around. My daughter did competitive gymnastics for s number of years. Great memories. She is now in graduate school.
  19. Welcome to the ill age from East Tennessee. Look forward to your participation.
  20. Nice work as always Kevin. I think the top pattern, the one with the 3 jack-o-lanterns, is a freebie from the SSWC magazine and can be found online on their website. They also have some other Halloween stuff there you might check and see if you have. Also, Steve Good has posted several Halloween patterns this past week or so.
  21. Nice work Charlie, even wondering where you have been. I understand how “life” gets in the way. I am sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Ny condolences. I hope your sister’s surgery went well. Enjoy those grand babies any chance you get, they don’t stay little long.
  22. Hi Janice and welcome to the Village from the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee. Glad you found us and joined in. Look forward to your participation.

  25. @Rockytime Les, besides the others we have provided above - I also just found a couple of "bonus" patterns for a bunny and a kitten on the Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts site here: http://scrollsawer.com/2014/01/10/creating-pull-toy-friends-bonus-patterns/ Apparently, there is a dog pattern that was provided in the Spring 2014 Edition (Issue 54) of the magazine if you have that edition or the CDs. Then these two were "bonus" patterns added to their website.
