  1. Then also be sure to take a look at Don's 1933 Ford Coupe Pattern found there at: https://oldcrowscrollwerks.weebly.com/store/p254/1933_Ford_Coupe_Pattern.html a bit harder to tell, since Don's pics are intentionally blurred to keep people from freely lifting them. Speaking of Don, has anybody communicated with him in a while? Not sure if those are the right cars/time frame but look close.
  2. He has a number of cars - two that look similar but not quite the same are the 32Ford3window and 34Ford5window patterns- besides being flipped the other way - there are some other slight differences like the roof top on this one is a bitter "flatter" then those two I think. However, they may be close enough to give you what you want to do.
  3. Good luck Ike.
  4. Looks awesome Jim and I am sure will be a hit! Thanks for showing.
  5. Looks nice. Let's tag Russell by adding @Birchbark to make sure he has a chance to see it. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Nice work Jerry. I would be interested in learning more about your hour meter. Sounds interesting.
  7. I agree, beautiful indeed. Both your granddaughter and your work. Thanks for sharing.
  8. John, it doesn’t “matter” when something is made. Since you sell your pieces, it makes sense you would not want a date on your items. I don’t sell mine presently, not sure I ever will. I make what I make for fun, love of it. I then either keep it, or give it to family who I make it for or who like it. As a result, I do date mine. I date mine so I know when I made something. By dating, I can also hopefully tell the progress I have made over time. As a relative newbie to the saw, it is good to see that progress. Maybe with more experience, that becomes less a need or reason.
  9. Hey Ray, here are a couple of threads where people discussed the different ways they “sign” their work. http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/25953-signature-question/?tab=comments#comment-284650 and http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/29115-signing-your-projects/?tab=comments#comment-324737 and http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/26482-branding-the-product/?tab=comments#comment-291693
  10. Congratulations. I look forward to hearing more once though get it. Don’t fib to your wife, just gets you in trouble when you get caught and you will get caught . It’s kinda hard to hide a scrollsaw much less 3. personally, for me if I was choosing, I would get rid of the Dewalt because as you noted, it’s very similar to the Excalibur but most would consider the Excalibur to be the better saw but only you can decide that for yourself. You can tell your wife you need a little time to “decide” and then maybe she will forget. Edited to add: you could put two of them on one of those flip stands you can build and flip them up and down as you choose. Saves you on space and sorts hides one from your wife.
  11. Excellent - sounds like I need to get some of those Pegasus modified geometry blades and give them a whirl. thanks for sharing.

  15. I am glad you find all that lettering relaxing me, not so much. excellent work. Thanks for showing.
  16. Welcome to the Village from East Tennessee. Congratulations on your new saw. Look forward to your participation here.
  17. I like my Seyco. It is a good saw. I was happy with my Excalibur. The issue for hubby is he struggles with getting me gifts as I am not into the typical things you get a lot of women like jewelery. I am more into the tech and gadgets. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, my birthday is about a week or so after Mother’s Day which can compound his issue. they had just reviewed the Seyco in the scroll saw magazine, he saw it and decided it would be a good gift even though I told him I didn’t need a new saw yet. (At that point I had just been working with the saw about a year.) But he got it anyway as my joint gift for Mother’s Day and my birthday. It was one of the first one shipped out. He put it together for me with my help. Unfortunately, he did it before Steve did his video on it. Might have saved a few choice words if we had had Steve’s video. However, once it was together it worked great. I have seen Steve’s reviews on it and pretty much agree with what he has said. The magnetic top is “different” and I still don’t like the “hole” under it. I think it has to be there for the tilt mechanism to work right. We added the washers like Steve did to lift it up so the hole underneath isn’t really an issue that way. Maybe you can order a back copy of that issue of SSWC magazine and leave it laying around with a sticky note on it suggesting Christmas is coming.
  18. Welcome to the Village and Happy Father's day. Time to break out that saw and make wonderful things with it. Look around the forum and read the info. shared here. Lots of it. Ask if you have a question and share your work with us. We love to see pictures.
  19. You can check with Ray at Seyco and get his opinion/information. He is the King of the Excalibur as they sold them and repaired them for years. Seyco.com should get you to the "contact us" information on their site. Best to call as he prefers that over emails I gather. I bought a used Excalibur from them that they had taken on a "trade in" I think a couple of years ago. Other than a little worn on the table top, it was and is a great saw. I still have it but it is my backup to my Seyco hubby bought me new last year when they first came out. It will tilt more then the SEyco does.
  20. Our daughter just moved to Georgia for her graduate program in Physical Therapy. She graduated with her undergraduate degree on May 20 and had about 2 weeks before she had to be there to start her grad program. No rest for the weary. She was in a college close to home and was home for the summers. Our son has been in college out of state for the past 3 years (in Georgia also). However, he has been home for the summers up until this one. He has one year left (says he is on time ). Not sure if he will come "home" or not - we don't think so - at least not right away unless he has too (meaning hasn't found a job when he graduates! ) Since both have been "off at school" for the past 3/4 years - the empty nest issue has been sorta dealt with. This is just first time they haven't been home for the summer even. My son was on a "Maymester" overseas in May so he wasn't here for Mother's Day, my birthday, or his sister's graduation unfortunately but she was here. While both are in GA, they are at different schools about an hour or so apart. We may see them next weekend as we may go down to daughter's to do some "handyman" work. Our son could then possibly come over to visit. He has kept himself busy pressure washing the back deck and working on the irrigation system and swimming with the dog - his only child "here". (He is one who needs to be doing something anyway. Doesn't like to sit down.) His dad will be 92 later this week, but he too took off for the beach with friends so with my dad gone, we didn't have anyone to see ourselves for the day either. Enjoy your kiddos - and have a great day with them. They grow up quickly as mine have shown me!
  21. Happy Father's Day to all my "Father" friends here. Hope you have a great day. My hubby is having his first without our children being here - both are presently at school out of state now.
  22. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
  23. Nice work as usual Kevin. Keep the customers happy.
  24. Ralph, while we waited for Steve's reply, I thought I had seen that pattern before so I had a little time and figured I would check Steve Good's site first as I suspected that was where I had seen it. I was correct. Here is the direct link to the butterfly on Steve Good's site for anyone else interested in it: http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2014/08/monarch-butterfly-sculpture-scroll-saw.html
  25. Nice work. If you really want to get fancy - Steve Good has a pattern on his blog for a man or woman to "lift" it up from Gary Parks it looks like. You can find them here: http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2014/06/gary-parks-introduces-dee-and-walt.html when I was using my DeWalt, I had made one for it. I added a magnet inset on its backside so that I could keep it on the side of the saw when not in use.
