  1. Nice work Kevin. Good to see you. like the Rose and word art combo. Thanks for sharing your work.
  2. One of my favorites. This is beautiful work. Love the reclaimed wood you used. One day I hope to try and make one of these, but first will need to get over my fear of letters.
  3. Good luck Iggy. The way the weather has been lately, who knows but I hope you get 3 good ones in a row. Yesterday was good around here - not so much today!
  4. Excellent work Dick. Quite a career for your grandson. Please thank him for his service to his country and the world. He and his fellow soldiers and their families are appreciated for their service and sacrifices on all of our behalf’s.
  5. Looks great and I can see why your daughter wants her's done. Like you, lettering scares me too. However, my second lettering project didn't look that good I assure you.
  6. Nice work and the customer is always right.
  7. Congratulations Susan on taking on this task and beginning it. I know you are so excited. It's really fun to accomplish something like this and you should be proud of doing it. I am sure it will be quite helpful information for people looking to get started. It's also great to see a fellow woman sharing and teaching so other women can see that its just not men doing it. Good luck with your project as you add more videos. I look forward to seeing more.
  8. I agree, cutting the puzzles were/are a great exercise in learning to cut - on the line and keeping it properly aligned because if you don't you will be out of square and your puzzle pieces will not slide back together from both sides - front and back but only one. That's the goal - you want the puzzle pieces to be able to slide back together whether they push it from the front or the back. Plus, @Iguanadon need some more puzzle Zombies buying and cutting puzzles. He needs more in order to implement his master plan to take over the world with animal puzzles.

    Newbie

Hello Robert and a big welcome from the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains in East TN. Glad you joined us. Look forward to your active participation. We'll hope that @new2woodwrk doesn't see the steal of a deal on a DW788 you found in Florida, he will be jealous.
  10. More nice wine boxes. Soon you will be the king of the wine box.
  11. Nice work, but hindsight is always 20/20. You should have made 3 - the 3rd one for him to sign and for YOU to keep with the photo.
  12. What a great looking box Dave. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Beautiful job repurposing that Frank and I guarantee you, even if he doesn't, she will keep it for sure. What a great way to tell their story! Thanks for showing.
  14. Nice work Dick. I can see why your friends loved it and wanted another. Glad you were able to meet up and spend some time with your buddies.
  15. A depiction of some treasured memories it sounds like for your friend. A wonderful surprise for him from you - bonus and will be treasured for both reasons I am sure. Thanks for sharing. Good to see you back some Dick. You have been missed around here.
  16. Excellent work. Looks like you will be giving Kevin a run for his money on the title "Name King".
  17. No doubt you will make her day Kevin. Great job as always. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Glad you have such a wonderful and supportive wife to go through life with. She sounds like a Gem to be treasured. I have been blessed with a similar gem. Don't know what I would do without him. Thanks for sharing the stamp - it is a beautiful sentiment indeed.
  19. Oh, I'm definitely guilty. Patience is not one of my virtues though I will say that I have gotten better.
  20. Like Iggy and Kevin, I tend to use a #5 blade to cut the outside shape. I cut the outside shape out first. (Well, if there are interior cuts, I drill those holes first, then cut the outside shape first and then the interior cuts with the #5 blade.) I then usually use a #3 blade to cut the letters out/apart. I have also learned if there is an inside cut that will be "accessed" when cutting letters apart, I don't mess with drilling holes there and cutting them out ahead of time. I do that cut as I cut the letters apart. This means only "fully enclosed" inside cuts like inside an "O" or a "P" or a "D" do I drill holes for and cut. That space in the middle between letters for example - I cut that out when I am cutting the letters. Saves drilling the holes and moving in and out on them. As far as putting them back together or waiting - I tend to either slide them back together as I cut them out - or set them together in order and then put together then I pull the pattern off each piece one at a time.
  21. Hey Charlie - I just report what I read having never tasted one myself. Ms. Saige is cute as a button. Happy birthday to her. You need to scroll her a Grapico bottle.
  22. Nice work Kevin, and whatever changed for you to allow you to sleep better is worth figuring out and bottling.
  23. Marg, I suspect many of us didn't know anything about Grapico - you were the only one willing to actually ask. So I think that means you are not dumb because you are willing to admit when you don't know about something. I admit it, I had no idea, but I turned to my good friend Google (or any of his close relatives as I often do to figure out what I don't know anymore ) to see what I could find. Best I could figure out, it is a Grape, sickly sweet (one site said almost tootsie pop sweet) soda type drink that originated in the the State of Alabama here in the USA well over 100 years ago. Not sure if it is sold anywhere outside of Alabama. I have never seen it here in TN and I am not that far away from Alabama. I would be interested in hearing why her brother nicknamed her that before she was even born (perhaps Mom was always craving a Grapico? So I assume the party will be serving the drink and have at least a purple theme. Perhaps Charlie will enlighten us some more.
  24. Welcome glad to see you back and doing well Charlie from your neck surgery. This is an excellent looking piece. Congratulations on creating your own pattern. I am sure your granddaughter may not realize it tomorrow, but you have created her an heirloom for sure. Thanks for sharing it.
  25. Thanks for sharing. Masks are definitely an important accessories I am afraid, but like you, I tend to forget to put mine on. Sometimes I think its just going to be a minute or two at the sander, then it turns into much longer. Or I set down at the saw and just don't think about it. Then my husband comes in and sees me and reminds me. I have another one I like - using it is my biggest thing. This is the one I got after seeing several good recommendations. I do wear it with safety goggles and don't have fogging either.https://www.amazon.com/GVS-SPR451-Elipse-Respirator-Medium/dp/B013SIIBME/ref=sr_1_69?ie=UTF8&qid=1523915467&sr=8-69&keywords=dust+mask
