  1. Looks like time well spent. Excellent work. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Looks like they are back now. I see them under all 3 of your names next to your post. Looks like we got a lot more new emojis under the emoji face too. Thanks Travis for all you do to keep the village fresh and updated.
  3. Iggy, Scott, gave his explanation. I think he is right - it is mainly the "cuteness" factor. People do not buy them to actually use as a puzzle. They are like clocks and other items, simply decorations that people buy to display on their desk, a shelf, etc. They sell for the same reason your clocks and other things sell with different "themes" to them. The item or object has "meaning" to that person - their dog. They make a great gift for that person in your life who has that dog, for as Iggy said most people have a dog or know someone who has a dog that they love and adore. While I don't sell them, i have made several and given them away as gifts. They are always immediately loved for what they are - an image of their type of dog. The fact that it is a puzzle, just gives it a 2nd "cool" - and it might be put together once but then is displayed on a shelf. Because of that, I considered making them as a "whole" object rather than a puzzle but I didn't really like how the one i tried work. The extra "puzzle" cuts add that extra bit of detail that makes it look better on the whole. I figured you could do part of those cuts so plan to try again and see. I know Kevin is doing some as ornaments that are not cut out as puzzles for example. I think you might find that dog clocks - might be a good seller as well.
  4. I'm going to point out the obvious, as you can clearly see, woodworkers (such as we have here) typically are going to prefer the "plain" show me the wood look BUT if you are trying to figure out what a "customer" would like, you would get a lot more for the painted look probably. So, you might have both available if you are looking to sell and see which ones work for selling. You can always have a painted one to see and take orders for "painted" with color selections available and that saves from having to paint some until you "need" them. Good job.
  5. Thanks for sharing Kevin. Maybe if you ask nice, she will get you a couple rolls of wax paper of your own. I am usually the one repurposing items from the kitchen to my workroom. At least I don’t get in trouble that way.
  6. Hi David and a welcome to the Village from East TN. Glad you found a great deal on a saw. Look foreword to your participation here.
  7. @Clayton717 just wanted to add a note that you may want to add to the Intarsia sub-forum here - I didn't initially realize it was not there but just here in the bragging rights. Just don't want any Intarsia folks missing out on seeing your great work!
  8. thanks for letting us know Kevin.
  9. Excellent looking piece you have cut there. The green does make it pop for sure. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Nice work Dick. I am sure she will love it. however, one thing I would suggest if you want to take the moment to do it - is send a picture of it to Sue Mey and tell her that while doing it, you thought she needed one that was more "feminine" in nature then this one. I have seen where she seems to be very receptive to suggestions such as these where she might be "missing" something. Even though it won't help you this time around - it will help someone else - and maybe you next time. Plus, I think she is just like us - she enjoys seeing what people are doing with her patterns so she will be happy to see your work. Just a thought . . . .

  14. That is awesome Clayton. You did a fabulous job. Thanks for sharing it.
  15. Those look like a great idea Iggy. But also looks like you have a little work to do to fill them all. Back to work.
  16. Wow Dick, another beautiful piece you have hand crafted for your lovely wife. She will be thrilled with them both. Glad someday came early. Looks like you will be racking in the extra brownie points this month! Thanks for sharing.
  17. Nice work Frank.. Was this one of your recently created patterns as well? Thanks for sharing.
  18. Those look great. Thanks for sharing.
  19. That ended up very nice DW and a smart idea. Glad to see the visual of it. Thanks for sharing your picture, your pattern and the how to.
  20. I agree, excellent work and we never find it boring to see what you or the Puzzle Zombie master, or anyone else is making and selling. I find it interesting to see what people seem to like even if I don't sell things. Plus, we get to see the fine work being crafted. I'm with Marg and the others who like that bride and groom with the angel watching over them. I too have never seen that one before. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Listen to the Doctors and Mary Ann, BUT, remind that they have to listen to you too. You know what you need mentally, and if that is a little shop time, and it can be done safely then that can go a long way to helping you heal too. Promise them you will take it slow and rest as you need - then do that - so you will heal as needed BUT if they have legitimate reasons that you need to be out of the shop then listen to them. It's a two way street when dealing with our health. Continued prayers for you and your family and the medical staff.
  22. Awesome work Jim and the kids no doubt had a great time. thanks to your club and members for stepping up to the plate and helping out with such a great idea.
