  1. You have done justice with both creating a beautiful pattern and tremendous cutting! Wonderfully done!
  2. Dynamic cutting on a wild pattern!
  3. Understood . I have neuropathy causing some shaking .
  4. Yes, $19 something. I tried reordering at $9 something but it immediately went to the $19 price. Lots available on Amazon at very inflated prices. Wish I had 3M stock!
  5. I realize the Hawk has an adjustment for aggressive cutting. Mine did. The question has come up in the past about front to back 90 degrees. Cant remember it but I think it was about the Hegner which I now have. My blade is ever so slightly off 90 degrees. There is no adjustment that i am aware of to correct that. I don't mean as if that were a flaw but as the normal arcing of the blade. Years ago a Hegner salesman told me that the Hegner is the only scroll saw in which the blade is perfectly straight all the time. I have now found that not to be true. Don't know if there are other machines that do. My bad! I just hijacked this thread so there is no need to reply. I'm probably talking through my hat!
  6. I went to Office Max this am for a new keyboard and inquired about 3M 77. There it was 1 can of 77 for $19.35. I grabbed it, went to the counter and realized it was Scotch brand. I bought it anyway. At home reading the fine print it is 3M. Im set. 1 is arriving July 6 or 7 for $9.75 from Amazon. I tried ordering but the price suddenly went up to over $19.
  7. Cute little tool. I'll have to consider it. Over the years I've purchased many things from them.
  8. I have no idea but it sounds interesting.
  9. I sincerely thank you for the suggestion. Having had a clock repair business for over 40 years I have well over a hundred files of every size and description including sets of pattern, riffler, diamond, Barrett, bastard, mill, slotting, safe edge and more. I inherited many more from a gunsmith friend. I find what works on metal does not work very well on wood for me. I use small pattern files, cosmetic nail sanding sticks, rolled up sand paper and whatnot. I use a Dremel with brass and fiber bristles, sanding mop and 3M buffs. I have micro torches which I have not used as I cut 1/8" pre-finished BB and the finish will melt. The micro burrs will arrive Thursday. I'll see how satisfied I will be.
  10. I just searched "Carbide Burs for Dremel". A thousand wil come up. I bought the first one that came up. Most are al the same with a 1/8" shank. I think I just paid about $10. Probably an assortment of a dozen tiny burrs. Being old and computer deficient I'm not sure how to post a link. Probably to old to learn also.
  11. An Ian Thorley pattern. Approximately 7" diameter. Pattern 1/8" BB, backers 1/4" BB. Rattle can paint. A fun cut. Just taking a break from fretwork.
  12. Thanks Frank. The burrs will arrive Thursday!
  13. Many years ago I owned a printing plant in which I had a power paper cutter which I would trim off the spines, drill three holes and put the pages into a three ring binder. Possibly Office Max could do that for you. I know they only have small cutters but may be able to do this for you.
  14. I recently purchased a set of small rasps about 5 or 6 inches long about the size of pattern files. I have many small files but they are really too fine to remove wood particles. These are unbelievably coarse and are not very suitable. Of course the were real cheap and chinese. Any have a suggestion for me?
  15. Duh! I didn't read the top intro line!
  16. You've done a ton of work and all done beautifully!
  17. It can all be found with Google.
  18. Good job!
  19. Darn nice work! If I had an idea who that was I'd be tempted to cut the pattern.
  20. I ordered 3M-77 May 4 for $9.35. Free shipping with Prime. Delivery estimate July 6. I started to repeat the order and the price is now 2 for $29.00. Have no idea what is happening. I'm OK till July but I found aan Elmer's spray adhesive I've had for several years. Sadly it would no longer spray. I have no idea what is going on. I may have to go to a dollar store to see if there something cheap that will work.
  21. Dynamic! You've done a beautiful job.
  22. Beautiful pattern and great cutting. .
  23. Very cool project!
  24. Here is a sample treated with 50/50 BLO.
