  3. WOW, you have been very creative. A project well done!
  4. I know nothing about these clamps but wonder if there is possibly a way to refurbish them.
  5. Ray, you are correct about the reach. I have the rear quick release on the 14 inch because when I got it the long screw had a slight bend to it. I could use it but it was very irritating. However, the 18 inch has the regular knob. I find it a convenient reach and do not have to reach too often. On my 20 inch Hawk the reach was a pain. Two inches further than the length of my arm. About fret work, I love it because I was already used to bottom feeding in my Hawk.
  6. Both my Hegners were purchased used. The Multimax 14 looked rough but runs like a dream. Slight rust removal and a little cleaning up was all it took. They are nearly indestructible. I think the rear tension adjustment upgrade was $75 and the Quick clamp was $35. plus the $100 I paid for the saw was a steal. So the up-grades are really not expensive considering the kind of saw you will end up with. Don't really know what can go wrong with them unless dropped from a second story window. General saw reviews do not mean much because the Hegner is too much different than most saws due to the difference between parallel and the link mechanisms. I don't think I said that right but most know what I mean even though I myself do not know what I mean. :>))
  7. I particularly like the way the animal patterns appear to be coming out from somewhere rather than the usual straight on view.
  8. I'm fortunate to live only 10 minutes from Office Max. All fretwork is converted to red.
  9. I'm waiting! :>)
  10. Congratulation on you sales and your terrific cuttings.
  11. Dynamite piece. I love the beautiful slab and the great cutting!
  12. I'm cutting fret work from 1/4" BB stacked on 3/16" underlayment. I am using a 2/0 Pegas MG blade at 1300 SPM. A blade only lasts about 10 minutes and then breaks. I can feel the blade getting a bit dull and then snap. I don't mind buying blades but am just wondering if my blade breakage is unusually excessive. I'm aware plywood is a little rough on blades.
  13. Kinda pricey for sure. I had a Dust Deputy but it was very tippy and clumsy so I gave it away. I recently purchased a DustStopper from Home Depot for $40. Pick up at store and hooked up to an old Filter Queen vacuum. Sits on a 5 gallon bucket. Very cheap and inexpensive. The vacuum runs constantly. Since the picture the extra long hose on the vacuum has been shortened and it all tucks out of the way under the small table.
  14. So sorry for for your unfortunate stroke. I wish a rapid recovery for you. Your patterns are terrific!
  15. But Barely! :>)
  16. Very nice cutting. The frame gives it a realistic outdoors feel.
  17. That is so very well done. It will be appreciated!
  18. Thanks for the pattern Travis. I've been cutting things with so many drilled holes it was nice to just relax and do something easy and fun. I cut this from what I think is 1/4" underlayment. It is a beautiful piece of plywood. Equal to the BB from Woodcraft. The reason I think it is underlayment is although both sides were very nice, one side had small green streaks every six inches or so. I guess to show which side is down. The stain is MinWax Gunstock. The base is just a pine stick stained the same. Might give it a shot of poly. I had to cut something because I ran out of 2/0 blades. Should come in by Tuesday.
  19. Much deserved recognition for sure!
  20. You are blessed my friend!
  21. Pretty cool pattern. Thank you.

Now that is classy! I love it.
  23. Thanks to Travis and to your great cutting!
  24. If the elephant was surprised then the eyes are good. My eyes get bigger if am startled. :>)
  25. I'm deaf (practically) so I can't hear a twang so I flip the tension lever on. I press down on the upper arm firmly. If I see the slightest bow the blade is not tight enough. My blades are very tight. Perhaps that is why I break a goodly number of 2/0 blades.
