Very nice cutting. I like it. I buy Poplar at Lowe's or Home Depot. Just bought some today but I only found 1/2" which was what I wanted. However, I did not see 3/4". Did you buy it locally?

One saw has to go and I'm considering selling the Hawk. The Hegners cut so well and the Hawk stand takes an inordinate amount of space. The Hegner stand are triangular and just slip into a small corner.

The HF has no casters. That's a no no for me. In my small shop I just roll where I need to go. -

The 14" Hegner is a terrific little saw. However, cosmetically it is pretty scratched up. The 18" is in beautiful condition just missing the table insert which I ordered last night. I don't have room for three saws so I'll have to think about this.

That's a dilemma Ray. The 18" Hegner has turned out to be in literal perfect condition. The rust was only very light surface rust. Brass bristles on the Dremel removed all of it. The only thing missing was the table insert which I ordered last night. The Hegner is such a nice heavy machine and the Hawk is set up just perfectly for me and is smooth. I think the 14" will have to go. Hard to do since it works so great. The Hawk has the nice big table and the Hegner works so well too.
