  1. Holy smokes! That's way above my pay grade. That is one beautiful piece of work.
  2. Beautifully done!
  3. Just for anyone who is interested the buyer of my saw posted a picture of it the evening he bought it, WOW, it had a mirror finish that I could not believe. Said he'll show me how to do that.I'm looking forward to visiting his shop. He is a welder and needs some machining from me and he volunteered welding when I need it. Guess I made a friend.
  4. Not really. Just my experience with an Olson #7 Skip Tooth blade. I'm cutting 1/2" poplar. That blade chews through lumber like an alligator on a cadaver. I'm not posting this as an endorsement just what I observed. Lots of fun experimenting with blades.
  5. Don't know that I should respond since I've never had to do this. But, what if one were to drill two 1/8" holes through the base and up into the object needing to be mounted. Glue 1/8" dowels into the base. Place glue on the base and dowels and slide onto the object. On the other hand, what do I know.
  6. Kevin, now I remember getting it from Wooden Teddy Bear. Fun to cut.
  7. Hi Brad, I don't remember where I got it but let me research it tomorrow. I'm sure I can find it. I'll let you know.
  8. I'd really like to see you happy with a saw whichever you do. I know how anxious I would get. I'm not too patient.Wishing you the best.
  9. That's quick.
  10. A big welcome to you from Colorado. Best place to be for learning. Lots of people here to give you help.
  11. Welcome Stephan from Colorado. Glad to have you here.
  12. I like it. You've done a good job.
  13. Beautiful cutting and framing.
  14. Clint's my man. Really cool!
  15. Beautiful! Love the wood.
  16. I think returning is a no brainer.
  17. Yep, I sold my 216VS Hawk for $150. I placed the ad on craig's list Friday night and got a call Saturday morning. Young fellow all excited to buy it. I assumed he was a newbie being excited for an old 16". I got out some helpful literature, a blade chart and some blades. I was shocked when he came Sunday afternoon. This guy has eight saws and has been scrolling for quire a while. Asked why he wanted this one. Said he had not seen a 16" Hawk before and wanted for his collection. Spent entire Sunday afternoon talking scroll saws. He brought over a three foot hammer head shark cut from 1" MFD. It is segmented and all segments can be disassembled. Never saw anything like it. Should have snapped a photo but forgot. Encouraged him to join the Village. Hope he does. He's made some short you tube videos under "Scroller Nation.
  18. Did you buy it new from a dealer? Can you return it or exchange it?
  19. Amazing King of Bling Kevin. You never cease to amaze.
  20. Ray, I have the FD XL blades, some of the many I have not yet tried. So far nearly everything I have cut is 1//2" and 3/4" material. The skip feature is very helpful. I've used Olsen skip blades on 3/4" pine and it worked well.
  21. Usually scrollers have favorite blades. For newbies it can take time to settle on favorites. It has for me. I sort of jumped in with both feet and ended up buying a dozen of almost everything. At gross pricing it was not that bad, but a waste of money. Should'a started with the FD sample pack. However, I have done more scrolling and am beginning to form opinions. I thought for awhile that I did not like reverse blades but after using them for some time I changed my opinion. JT, whom I have a lot of respect for, suggested some time ago FD Penguin Silver Reverse blades. I ordered them from Wooden Teddy Bear and received them yesterday. I cut Steve Good's Crescent wrench man cave the other day with a #5 FD Ultra Reverse blade and it cut quite well. This morning I started cutting five more from poplar with the FD Penguin Silver Reverse blades. What a great blade! It is like both a reverse and skip tooth blade. I think it will be a favorite.
  22. Gotcha Ray. We no longer see shows in Denver either.
  23. Lots of fun projects. I like the hammer.
  24. I love the spaghetti westerns. Clint's the man!
