  1. Very, very nice and practical too!
  2. Someone makes a dedicated drill made specifically for drilling scroll saw blanks. I thought I had it in my bookmarks but apparently not as I cannot find it. Can someone help me here with a source?
  3. In that case my wife will use it with a cordless drill.
  4. Are not the Dewalt and the EX21 very similar mechanically?
  5. You are correct. It looks like an over grown broccoli. ;)
  6. I will never attain that talent but it is fun to make sawdust anyway.
  7. Just checking craigs list. Dozens of saws for sale. Mostly cheap and old. But better saws cheap. Examples: 14" PS Woods, mint condition with stand $150, 20" PS Woods used but in new condition with stand $195, 220 Hawk says excellent condition with stand $200, 2 older EX 21 $750 and $900. I am a bit suspicious of the EX's. They appear very old, do not have tilting heads and look totally different than modern ones and the price seems outrageous. I bought my two Hawks for $200 each. One is a 220VS and the other is a mistake. I bought it without knowing anything about scroll saws except that Hawks had a good reputation. I bought it in Colorado springs. The craigs list photo looked excellent. I bought it without trying it. It never occurred it had no motor. I just assumed the motor was inside the chassis. Found out it was made to fit a ShopSmith which I do not have. I did power it with a belt and pulley arrangement and made it a single speed saw. Outside of that it is an excellent little saw. However, if someone with a ShopSmith could use it I will make a great deal. Since then I have read and researched much. I am much better informed. Not smarter, just better informed.
  8. GO HAWK! I love em!
  9. There has been discussion on sanding mops. I purchased these on ebay. They are from China but they are three for $6 with free shipping which means they are probably only worth $2 with $4 shipping. I don't know. At any rate I thought for the price I would give them a try. They are NOT a sanding mop. They are 3" diameter and are a 80 grit. That is very course and must be used very gently especially on soft woods. They do remove fuzzies. I still hope to order a real sanding mop.
  10. First cutting? WOW, you done really good. Welcome to the Village.
  11. I have this same problem at times. My floor drill press easily holds 1/16 drill bits but the drill is on it's slowest speed for the torque and for large bits. Too much hassle to change belts so I think I will buy the Dremel and the router attachment. Seems there are several on this site that do this. I have bits to #80 and the Dremel will work with those.
  12. Where is the pattern from. I would like to cut that. My wife has been my anchor for 52 years. This New Years eve it will be 53 years. I wouldn't want to be without her. I know she would love it especially if it were done before Valentine's day.
  13. Really smooth cutting. I like it. The anchor is special.
  14. OK, seven minutes. So how long did it really take to complete that great piece?
  15. They are looking good!
  16. Others have said it looks like 3-D. That's what I thought I was looking at but not sure. Great work that's for sure.
  17. I have not sawed Corian but I like making pens from it. Nice stuff and your cutting is nice.
  18. Really great toys. They will be loved!
  19. You can vacuum your cubical but can you vacuum your lungs?
  20. Thing I like about my Hawks is their simplicity. Fewer parts to wear out. Nearly all repair parts come from the hardware store.
  21. Got that right. Who sells the pattern>
  22. Very nice cutting. So many straight lines and so many right angles.
  23. Great cutting! Pine is about all I can afford to use. Your cutting is so good. What blade are you using?
  24. My pier collapsed!
