  2. The bowls and trivet are beautiful. What woods did you use on each? I am assuming some work was done on a band saw. Am I assuming too much? At any rate the work is beautiful!
  3. Welcome to the Village. My pockets are not deep either. Keep looking at the used market. I bought two very nice Hawks for $200 each. There are bargains out there. Again welcome.
  4. I'm surprised no one mentioned www.penturners.org., International Association of penturners. It is the place to go for new turners. It is not limited to pens but lots of other projects. For a new turner it is loaded with how to get started, what to buy first, why to buy it, turning instruction, suggestions on finishing and so many more things. WARNING! It can also be addictive.

  18. Even with all the gas fireplace inserts the bellows make a wonderful decorator piece making the gas fireplace seem a little more authentic.

  22. That is beautiful work. What blade did you use to cut 3/4" material. Sounds like hard and slow cutting.
  23. FD stands for Flying Dutchman scroll blades. Your web site is really interesting.
  24. Scrolling and turning seem to compliment each other really well.
  25. My mother was kinda like Grandma Moses. No art training, just a farm girl with no education, but she painted amazing murals with little cans of colored enamel. So you can use anything that works for you.
