  1. Very nice cutting and very nice pattern. Thanks for explaining Reclaimed Rimu.
  2. I don't recognize the emblem but the cutting is beautiful, the blank is awesome and I know it will be greatly appreciated.
  3. That is really a great piece but I do not understand what I am looking at.
  4. Really good and cute cutting. I like them.
  5. Very nice. Fishing used to be a passion. Brings back memories.
  6. Beautiful cutting. I would not paint it, but what do I know?
  7. Really nice. I like it.
  8. I also would like to know how to handle the dust. I don't have a dust collection system. I could possible rig up a vacuum cleaner with sort of a funnel like receptor. The vacuum would drive me nuts though.
  9. Fantastic!
  10. Really a great display! Beautiful cuttings.

    Hello

Welcome Rodney! You've come to a great place.
  12. Thank you for the reply. I understand and all is well. I owned a business with up to 30 employees and understand things do happen. I'm still a Hawk enthusiast. If my ship comes in before my pier collapses I'll own a new 220 VS.
  13. Funny thing. Yesterday my wife was doing her downsizing thing. While doing so she found our cremation urns. We purchased a cremation plan years ago. Anyway this got me to thinking by the time I learned a new software program I would no longer be around to make use of it!
  14. Stuff happens. I'll always give a second chance.
  15. What would I know? But from a newbie it looks great.
  16. Thanks all for the information. I have a complete selection of small drills down to 80. I was a model railroad modeler for 40 years. I think I will do the cutting. However I will use a larger blade. Fine cuts will just get filled with paint. Using 1X4 pine boards work as the individual parts are small , therefor quite stout. I also wanted the pieces thick enough so they will stand. Thanks again for all the responses.
  17. Thanks for the response. I understand the problem. I understand that an experienced tech cannot be expected to be available for every question. I guess I am most disappointed on the fulfillment of my order. Over a month to deliver. I am a real Hawk enthusiast and will continue to deal with them. I'm just old and crabby.
  18. Don't know what a mouse sander is. I have a palm sander but a mouse sander sounds interesting.
  19. Thank you. I would also like to hear their explanation. I have not contacted them. Since the sale was only $37 I just kept the parts and let the problem lie. I understand things sometimes fall through the cracks. I hope they give you a suitable response.
  20. Can you post a photo of how your lights are set up? I'm visualizing two lights mounted about 45 degrees on either side of the saw.
  21. I've ordered some sanding mops to use when I get them.
  22. Well JT is not the only one complaining about vendors. A few months ago I bought a used 14" Hawk. Never saw one before but always heard good things about them. Never having seen one before I bought it without trying it. After an hour and half drive home I went to plug it in and realized it had no motor.I called Hawk to inquire about what I had bought. The receptionist would not let me speak to a tech. Said she would take my information and get back to me. Next day she said the saw was no longer made and was made for a ShopSmith. I wanted to speak with a tech for details but could not. I motored it and it works fine. I bought a Hawk 16" VS. Very nice saw. Like new and just needed cleaning up. The tension lever was missing and was replaced with a knob which I did not like. I called again to ask for a tech. Again I was refused. Receptionist said she would take my order. I placed it with her on 9-15-16 and received the order 10-17-16. I am super excited with the Hawks but am disappointed in their customer service. The receptionist was pleasant but would not be helpful. In the mean time I have machine tools and made what I needed and now have spare parts.
  23. WOW! Enlarged the cutting is terrible. I was experimenting with quite a few blades. The FD ultra reverse whatever did whatever it wanted to. Hyper aggressive. The Olson skiptooth did also. The #4 FD Penguin Silver let me stay on the lines, The Pegas Modified Geometry, OMG. Never use those again. So what you are looking at is my experiment station. It is common 3/4" pine from the box store.
  24. I an cutting several simple puzzles for a two year old grandson. My question is, how do you cut the black lines indicating a detain on the animal like eyebrows, lines in the ears or folds in hair, etc? Do you use some kind of knife, wood burner or what. I hope I'm not the only one with this question.
  25. It's fun cutting things for children. Those are very nice.
