Thanks for your support. When we were leaving we could take only some clothes and essential goods. I will not be able to cut new projects in the near future (even if I would get a scrollsaw, there is no place and no conditions to use it). For this moment we were provided with temporary free housing - a room in a hostel. I already bought a laptop here to contine making patterns (for this moment it is only one income for my family). As many of you already know I and my family left Ukraine and we are safe in Latvia now. We had to make this difficult decision and leave everything to be safe. I spent a lot of time to draw up many documents for different social and government services and finally it is time to return to pattern making. I used to make photos and video to show my customers how finished projects (mostly layered) look like. Unfortunately I cant do it now. But I started learning new for me program - LightWave 3D. Luckly I have experience with programs for 3D modeling and visualisation. I took my recent pattern (C198-fox) and tried to work with it. And here are first results. I had an idea for a Christmas pattern that I didn't get to do last year. I don't know what will happen tomorrow, let alone what will happen in six months, so I made it now. It is simple Christmas tree puzzle which consists of 9 smaller ones. Farm - my new project and pattern. Making this pattern took more time than usual - I wanted to make view of classic farm scene. I have never been at such place, but I looked through many photos in the Internet and came to this conclusion: it should contains barn, tractor, windmill and granary. I didnt added animals, because pattern consists of many small details, maybe later I will make one more similar pattern (barn with animals). Aslo I made 2 variant of size: 10,5 х 5 inches and enlarged 15,5 х 7,5 inches (pattern includes both sizes). I hope it looks natural, what do you think? Video of making Farm Farm pattern

I have not posted new patterns for a while, now I have enough free time for drawing, but it is psychologically difficult to return to normal activities when you constantly hear explosions outside the window. Hi everyone, firstly, I want to say that I am safe in my town Kherson, at the moment the town is occupied by Russians, There are many Russian military in the city (patrols, checkpoints). We try not to leave the house if it is not necessary. There is already a shortage of medicines in the city, there are practically no products in the stores, because there are no supplies - the Russians do not let anyone into the Kherson region, even humanitarian aid. There are many farms in the Kherson region and after the Russians allowed entry into the town from neighboring villages (with a full search of cars and checking documents), many farmers brought meat and vegetables to the city, but the prices are very high and there are long queues. Peaceful rallies are held in the town center almost every day. At first, the Russians ignored it, a few days ago they started shooting into the air to disperse the rally, and yesterday they used smoke and tear grenades, people were injured from fragments of grenades. Here's what's happening in Kherson. In the photos and the video you saw 4mm birch plywood. You can choose between 1/8 inch and 4 mm (not 1/4 inch). Firstly I made pattern for 4 mm (it is popular thickness of plywood in European countries). But USA use inches, so I had to made one more variant, as I know 1/8 and 1/4 are popular thickness, 1/4 was too thick, so I made 1/8.

My new pattern and project. "Cutest key hanger" - I hear when someone see it for the first time, it has kinetic mechanism, when you hang keys - cat (dog) appears from the box. Gone Fishing - my latest project, some of my customers asking me who I coming up with patterns. Sometimes idea of the pattern and finished pattern are very different. This pattern is nice example: fistly I wanted to make just a pike, then I remember that one of my customer asked for "gone fishing" pattern, so I added this sign, but this scene looks not finished, I added fishing rod, but it looks not realistic, I added fishing line with bait, it came out too fragile, I added seaweed to make more connected areas.
