  1. Half the times When I looked through the pattern library ( which I agree is a great resource) I find too many I like I keep looking, get overwhelmed, I can make a decision before I know it I wasted most of my shop time. End up not cutting anything and not even settling on anything. I got problems. not sure if looking through the pattern library while standing on a ladder will help me. Maybe I’ll give it a shot.
  2. Beautiful just! Looks great
  3. Great job on both! I really like the owl.
  4. Finally got a time to finish this. It actually fit better before I glued it up. I shrunk down the original pattern to make a frig magnet. The glue up was tedious!
  5. Someone must have just started to fold up a tarp or some plastic and wind God’s decided to kill two birds with one stone
  6. Very nice! I really like that
  7. Thank you guys for your input I’m second guessing thoughts on selling anything maybe I will change my mind but I think I will just let them pile up and give away to people who definitely want. As far as cherities go ....careful you will strike a nerve with me lol. Most are scams and taking advantage of good people who think they’re donations are going to a good cause. I do donate on a monthly to st Jude’s tho. But most I make it a point not to donate. I’ll stop there before I get wound up lol. I also plan on a few military themed projects I will donate to local vfw. But most what I like is wildlife maybe I’ll to to fish and wildlife warden I know maybe he knows where can display maybe for kids programs or something. Thx for your knowledge guys I appreciate it!
  8. Iv never really been interested in selling any of my stuff.for the time put into a project and the price it would sell for ( imo) I would probably make about two bucks an hour lol. But I just enjoy making stuff. With that said I got projects piling up all over and my wife is not interested in any of it. I give some to family and friends but I hesitate cuz I don’t like to push on people who may feel obligated to take something they’re really not into anything and then feel as tho they have to display when I’m coming over lol. anyway I never sold anything on eBay but that’s my knee jerk reaction to go if I were to sell. I’m not interested in doing craft shows but I’m wondering why it seems no one here really sells on eBay i here Etsy more than anything. From what I know about Etsy it’s a store I’m just doing this for relaxing not sure I want to run a store. But I guess that’s the point of my post. I really don’t have any knowledge or experience with either. I would appreciate any input from u guys. Thx.

  16. Beautiful job. I use them basswood blanks a lot. I usually oil them. But they will turn a much more yellow color which is ok but just warning you lol

  18. I’m sure they will love that great job
  19. This is my first attempt at whittling. It’s a little rough but I’m happy with it for first one.
  20. To keep it simple. There are two main types of drying oils used for wood working. Linseed and tung oil they come from a seed or nut which are drying oils. Non drying oils are mineral, olive oil and some others usually used for food grade (cutting boards). I'm sure it gets more scientific but The main point to take away is the two major players are linseed and tung oil. The major companies take these oils and mix with other components and twist the names for there own type of oil finish usually just adding a quicker dry time and poly for better projection than strAight oil. So really just like anything else u have to try them and see if you find a favorite. But just know they are all just oil finish.one company may do a better job of mixing or use higher quality materials but in my opinion most of it is marketing. Personally on most of my projects I use BLO first solely to bring out the beauty of wood then oil based poly for protection.
