  1. Awesome display excellent work! I don't do shows but word of mouth and family I sold 23 cheese cutters, 8 charcuterie boards . I did so well I am going to have a garage sale in December next year. I made $700 without trying but I did work more on that stuff than I expected.
  2. The porter cable bandsaw has a 1 1/2 hp motor. I see no problem resawing with it. You need to get a good quality 1/2" resaw blade. I have used a grizzly and Delta 14" bandsaws where I taught woodworking and it is every bit as good as those.
  3. I installed the Carter stabilizer on my bandsaw it works great. I use an eighth inch blade that is the only size used. I have another bandsaw with a resaw blade. The best part of the stabilizer is you don't use the lower blade guide. Once you setup the stabilizer you're good to go. My old blade guides are in a drawer.
  4. I gave my 10" rigid miter saw to my son. I have a 45 year old Dewalt radial arm saw for doing cutoffs. I have had it for over thirty years at it still works great. I can cut a board close to 16" . I have room for it, it's placed between the garage doors. I planed it that way when I had the garage built.
  5. My best storage place is
  6. Tuff choice Tablesaw or wife(lol)
  7. I have a Delta Unisaw 5hp works like charm for the last 8years. I had my choice between the 5hp Unisaw or a 3hp Sawstop. The Unisaw was $500 cheaper and more power.
  8. I quess I got lucky my Delta works fine. The only thing I had to do was tighten the bolt on the motor after six months. It came loose and started making noise. I track it to that problem 20 minutes later back working fine and no issues for the last two years.
  9. When I get tired of tripping over it or it falls off the shelf too many times it gets burned. I have a tub of pen blanks I will never use up. I give some to my neighbor or take to the club shop and give the blanks away.
  10. I own several Delta products a 8 year old Unisaw 5hp, 18-900 drill press, 13" planer and the 40-694 scrollsaw. The only thing I have had to replace was the planer blades. I have not had any issues with the machines. I wouldn't trade my Unisaw for any Tablesaw on the market. My machines see heavy use because being retired I am in the shop almost everyday.
  11. I use the scraps to make cheese cutters.
  12. I have a Bosch colt and made a router table from Woodsmith magazine. Works one easy to remove from the table when needed.
  13. I have used cherry, white oak quartersawn, and maple to make small to large shaker boxes. I used a hot water bath or a steam box with a wallpaper steamer for the steam.
  14. No drawings just a thought when I change out bathroom exhaust fans. I did see a couple of designs in shopnotes magazine. I will use one of those with modifications. I know it's bad being an old industrial arts teacher but so much of the things I make are on the fly. If it's something that works out I will draw it up when I sub for the cad teacher at the Vocational School. Which is about 4 or 5 times a year.
  15. I am going to make a downdraft table and use the bathroom exhaust fan when I replace it with a new one. I will post picks when done. It might be awhile because I am procrastinating climbing in th attic to replace it.
  16. Awesome shop I only get 2/3 of my 990sqft. Garage I built before retirement. I couldn't afford to build it now that I have retired. $35,000 is harder to come by now.
  17. I own a Delta Unisaw made a year before they moved production overseas. I have a 5hp motor and I wouldn't trade it for any other saw on the market. I. Have used lathe major brands powermatic ,sawstop, jets still like the Unisaw the best.
  18. I would like larger planer. My wife ask me when she bought a jointer if that was the last tool I needed. Of course I said yes. Since the jointer I have gotten a router table and lift, a new scrollsaw, 2nd 14" bandsaw, lathe and a grinder so I stretched the truth a little bit.
  19. I use the Steve Good holder design. It holds ten and it cost nothing but scraps and time.
  20. Awesome job! I made my nephew a pen for his retirement from the Air Force last month after 20 years.
  21. That's the setup my woodworking club shop has. The down draft table works great. Between that , a dust collector, and air cleaner the club shop has very little dust in the air.
  22. I have a Delta Unisaw, drill press, scroll saw, 13" planer and have had no issues with any of them. I have had the Tablesaw 7 years used heavily, drill press 7 years, 13" planer 6 years and scroll saw 3years. I am either lucky or got well made machines. I wouldn't trade my Unisaw for any other tablesaw on the market. I taught woodworking for forty years and used powermatic and sawstop tablesaws they can't match my 5hp Unisaw.
  23. Great saw at that price. Not much difference between it and Dewalt, basically the same with minor changes..
  24. Here's a picture of a beer tote with zombie dust as a theme.
