  1. Good idea. I just started making some flat ornaments. Some of the ones I have made recently would be too small to cut if I did that. I have been sizing them to fit my drill. I tried shipping some 3D ornaments in gift boxes, but it did not work well. The shipping packages had to be much larger, and the additional size and weight increased the price and caused some shipping issues I did not want to deal with. I have considered shipping them in a box that would make a good box for shipping and gift wrapping if they didn't mind reusing the shipping box.
  2. I do the work every day. Everything was steadily increasing. Profits and revenue were stadly increasing. A little over two years ago that changed and it has been in steady decline since then. I have had two months so far this year where I lost money.
  3. I asked Google: Do product listings need to have a white background to rank in Google search? The answer: No, product listings do not need to have a white background to rank in Google Search. In the past, Google did recommend using white backgrounds for product images, but this is no longer the case. Google's algorithms are now more sophisticated and can correctly identify products against a variety of backgrounds. However, there are still some benefits to using a white background for product images. White backgrounds can help to make your images look more professional and polished, and they can also make it easier for customers to see the details of your products. Additionally, some marketplaces, such as Amazon, still require white backgrounds for product images. Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to use a white background for your product images is up to you. There is no right or wrong answer, and the best choice for your business will depend on your individual products and goals. Here are some things to consider when making your decision: The overall look and feel of your brand. If you have a clean and modern brand, then white backgrounds may be a good fit. However, if you have a more rustic or vintage brand, then you may want to use a different background color or texture. The type of products you are selling. If you are selling products with a lot of detail, such as jewelry or electronics, then a white background can help to make the details more visible. However, if you are selling products with a lot of color, such as clothing or toys, then you may want to use a different background color to help the products stand out. The marketplaces where you are selling your products. If you are selling your products on marketplaces that require white backgrounds, such as Amazon, then you will need to use a white background. However, if you are selling your products on your own website or other marketplaces that do not have this requirement, then you may have more flexibility. No matter what you decide, make sure that your product images are of high quality and that they accurately represent your products. This will help to improve your search engine rankings and increase sales. --
  4. That is an excellent solution. I have considered using gift boxes, but I'm still struggling with what size shipping boxes I need to keep in stock.
  5. Fortunately for me, I don't have to do this. If I had to do it for a living, I would starve.
  6. That is what got this started. I have colored backdrops designed for photography I soon discovered that photos taken with a colored background would tint everything with that color due to the reflective light. The light-colored wood on the grey photo tent was easy to fix by adjusting the white balance but I had a grey background.
  7. @JTTHECLOCKMAN Your comments are appreciated. What started me down this road was trying to get the colors to display correctly. I figured out that if I wanted to fix this, I needed a quick way to remove and replace the background. I have a stand for the ornaments, but I don't want the stand in the photo. Love the birdhouse.
  8. Yep, the most valuable thing you have is time, and you don't know how much you have.
  9. Here are some green and blue versions. I like the blue best of the two, but I am a sucker for blue.
  10. That is a good point.
  11. I'm using all the versions and black for the primary. Switching to white for the primary photo is drag and drop. It would be relatively easy to make a photo with another color background. The hard part is getting rid of the original background.
  12. I think I have figured out an easy way to remove backgrounds from my photos and replace them with what I want. Here are three samples of photos I have edited. Everyone I have asked to look at them so far prefer the black background. What do you think?
  13. Since I began to have made-to-order items, I have been concerned that I would get more orders than I could easily fill. It might be a good problem to have. Congratulations.

Yes, they need this. I added a request to their feedback to integrate with QuickBooks. https://goimagine.sleekplan.app/?search=quickbooks

I looked, but I don't see anything that looks like any record-keeping I can download. Since I have not sold anything there yet...
  16. Yes, I do that. I don't often read Etsy stuff because it is mostly irrelevant.
  17. I think I will add a suggestion to GoImagine to add a connection to QuickBooks. I found the following by asking Bard. I haven't done it since it never occurred to me. I have a business account, but I buy everything through that account. It might be easier just to import them like I have been doing. --------------------------------------------- Yes, you can connect your Amazon Business account to QuickBooks Online. This will allow you to automatically import your Amazon Business purchases into QuickBooks, saving you time and hassle. To connect your Amazon Business account to QuickBooks Online: Go to the Amazon Business Purchases app page on the QuickBooks Online website. Click Get app now. Sign in to your Amazon Business account. Select the import start date. Click Finish. Once your accounts are connected, your Amazon Business purchases will be imported into QuickBooks overnight. You can then review and categorize the transactions, and match them to your bank or credit card statements. Here are some of the benefits of connecting your Amazon Business account to QuickBooks Online: Reduce manual data entry: You won't have to manually enter your Amazon Business purchases into QuickBooks. The app will automatically import the transactions for you. Get more details: You'll be able to see product descriptions, item costs, and fee breakdowns for each transaction in QuickBooks. This will help you to accurately categorize your expenses and track your spending. Easy categorization and reconciliation: You can easily categorize each Amazon Business purchase separately and match it to your bank or credit card statements. If you're using QuickBooks Online, I highly recommend connecting your Amazon Business account. It's a quick and easy way to save time and hassle and get more accurate financial reporting.

Yes, I knew that, but it was a blank page for the most part. They had to know to click on the stupid hamburger to see anything. I watched a video yesterday where they demonstrated how to do this and plan to do it soon. I used to do shop updates but could only post them from my phone. I had to transfer the photos and use the Etsy app to post them. The Etsy app was painful to use and sometimes did not work, I finally uninstalled it completely and never returned. It's a DNS thing, most likely. CNAME records in a DNS point to A records, so you can have an alias where multiple hostnames go to the same location. There are probably other ways to do this, especially if they somehow customize their DNS. There are books written on how this stuff works. I;ve used the CNAME record many times in the past.
  19. When I had only an Etsy shop, this was easy. I connected Etsy with QuickBooks; all I had to do was add expenses from outside Etsy and file my taxes. It was cheap at first, but they keep going up in price, and I am selling other places now and looking at other methods. Any suggestions?

My mosaic site is live. It took about 12 hours before it propagated to enough DNS servers for me to access it. IT works now but I need to tweak some of the images and I guess need make logo.

It depends on where you are and how the DNS you are using does it caching. If it is your DNS and you use it yourself, it is instantaneous, but not for everyone. If a DNS has your old address in its cache and the time to live is 48 hours, it will not update until it expires and someone tries to use it. At that point, the DNS will update. After 48 hours, everyone in the world can find your site.

I got four names instead of IP addresses, which Google domains wanted in the configuration. I did the configuration, and now I am waiting. It can take as much as 48 hours for things to propagate throughout the system.
  23. If you have an Etsy shop, you might want to watch this video.

GoImagine will configure custom name servers for me, and when it is done, they send me the IP addresses for the server that I add to my Google Domains as custom servers. You need at least two. I'm very interested to see how the shipping works.
  25. My expenses for October were more than my revenue. That's two months this year 2023. This never happened in previous years.
