I completely feel your pain... I have a display cabinet I've been trying to finish for 1 1/2 years, I keep knocking over the door which is mitered and it keeps coming apart. I glue it, set it and knock it - 5 times now. Next time it's fire wood!

Ok, I'm stuck :( I've cut a bunch of things and have no idea how to mount them. For example I have this plate I want to hang (bottom image).: Once I glue the silhouette to the frame then what? Do I add another piece of wood behind that making it even thicker? Do I add a piece of cloth? Every time I think I have it figured it out it gets too thick and looks dumb having a gap between the front rim and the backing :( Links to a tutorial or instructions would be great! Thanks in advance

Many are not aware, that some drill press can be turned to give more depth access than just the table access - just an FYI

I have a dremel with the drill press attachment - I've been using it all week as a sanding station as well as a drilling pilot holes for fretwork Mine is a variable speed dremel For the price it's a very nice set up! - just an fyi Problem with the dremel is large bits.

I bought this wood based on a recommendation someone made here about the exotic stuff they bought on sale. It is sold in 10 and 20 lbs boxes, here is their description:

I have a 12" craftsman I bought 1 1/2 years go (April 2016). I just sent it in for repair (after pulling what is left of my hair out trying to find out who to send it to), and was told yesterday by the repair tech, it came more damaged than when I dropped it off at the store that sent it. The reason I bring this up is, the repair was for a wobble - the bit would wobble slightly and wouldn't make a clean hole. The tech agreed that something had to be defective as it should have lasted a lot longer that 1 1/2 years. And of course it is out of warranty and I never buy extended warranties on anything So the moral of the story for me, is no more craftsman power tools - this is the 2nd craftsman power tool I've purchased within 2 years that have failed miserable (first was circ saw). Interestingly enough, I have an old craftsman circ saw and drill both over 30 years old and only the drill recently died. I'm liking the Wen line of products for inexpensive power tools - they're cheap (inexpensive) and work fine for hobbyists IMO I've bought a lot of things from HF and IMO it's hit and miss with them - at least they take things back no questions asked.

First, thanks in advance for taking the time to help - I'd really like to get to know wood types, and this is going to help me quite a bit.. I just received some wood I purchased and have no idea what kind they are. I do know one of the domestics is Cedar and I believe another is Pine and maybe a poplar in there as well. I have 2 sets - one of them is Exotic wood here (2 pics just in case): And Domestic Wood - #4 I know is Cedar - unmistakable, I believe #2 maybe Pine and #8 poplar but not sure

How are you trying to open it? Have you tried opening the file in ms paint? I'm noticing many viewers are no longer showing certain types of graphics files anymore but when you open them in paint, you can save it to a different format. Just a thought

Bought a stool for my scrolling bench: - It raises and lowers and is the perfect height for not only scrolling, but also working on my finishing and assembly benches. And best of all it was CHEAP LOL - got it on amazon 67% off AND I don't have to build another cart LOL (which I can't fit anyway)

Wait a sec - you cut that out of an old Vinyl album? REALLY? That is so cool! I have hundreds of albums - but only a few I could/would sacrifice LOL What did you use for backing?

So far I've only stood while scrolling. I don't mind standing, but being an old fart I'm finding it fairly limiting in that I only do a few pieces during a session? I don't have a sit down bench and don't really think I have any room to put one if I were to build one. Do you prefer sitting or standing when you scroll? Thanks in advance

I've done a few stack cuts, but am wondering how many pieces would/should I normally try and stack? So far, I've done up to 4 1/8" stacks - but they were silhouettes, all external cuts no fretwork For example: I've been using a #3 FD ultra reverse blade and liking it (I bought a combo set of FD blades). If I were to stack cut 1/8 pieces - would 4 be too much? That's what 1/2 inch? If I were to stack cut 1/4 pieces, would 4 be too many? That's 1 inch? Thanks in advance

I use packaging tape - I have like 6 rolls of the stuff that I finally have a use for!
