  4. As I take on more difficult projects, I was thinking of what tools and materials I would need going forward. Would you all like to share your opinions and contents of your tool box and work bench specifically for scrolling? My current list includes: Of course the Saw Dust control - I have my saw hooked up to my HF Spray Adhesive Painters tape and packing tape Blade assortment Holders for blades - I have those tubes set into a pegboard holder I made Sanding sticks and sanding paper Disc and rotating sander - I also have one for my drill Files - does anyone use needle files? Assortment of Finishes - I have Tung oil, Danish oil (natural) and mineral spirits Assortment of stain colors - I also use prestain Assortment of acrylic paints - I'm using model paints at the moment Drill press - I only have my dremel at the moment since my craftsman took a dump. I'll replace it soon with a Wen most likely Awl - I've been using this on the tiny holes to make them large enough to thread the small blades through Band saw - I have the Skil 9" - it's not a great saw, but seems to do the job for scrolling - not so much for other woodworking Glue/spray box Table saw - I use it to cut my sheets down to size Patterns of course Wood/material supply Anyone else care to elaborate? Thanks in advance

  13. I think it's a great idea - I wish more forums had something like this. I don't have but can get a pdf copy of my Wen 3920 if this proceeds I usually keep a pdf copy of all my tools as well as the hard copy
  14. I cut a light house and it has straight lines :(
  15. I thought I'd post something that helps me see the burrs on the blades for mounting on the saw. I don't have magnifier attached to my saw - once I get my final saw I will probably mount one. In the mean time I use these glasses - they work really good for very small items and close up work Just thought I'd share - you all probably have much better ways, but perhaps this may help another newbie
  16. Ok, even before I ask this, I think it may be one of the dumbest questions I've ever asked LOL When mounting the blade, I know the burrs are supposed to point down correct? However, does the blade mount with burrs facing the front of the saw or the rear? I have mine facing the front, but when I hear/read articles about the direction of moving the wood, it sounds like the blade is facing the rear of the saw. Thanks in advance
  17. I feel your pain deeply as I have the exact same problem and can't figure it out I've tried: Painters tape + spray adhesive on pattern Painters tape + spray adhesive on pattern + packing tape on top Shelf liner + spray adhesive on pattern Shelf liner + spray adhesive on pattern + packing tape on top Left all 4 on for hours Left all 4 on for a few minutes Nothing I've done works either when I get to small, close cuts :(
  18. Thanks Dan, LOL - that's what I was using - a new Pegas reverse 3r
  19. Going back and forth between trying to get my taxes entered and scrolling, I was able to cut a few items: The Lighthouse - needs a few more cuts and sanding and finishing. But a question - there are little "lines" (you may see them) should they be cut with a bigger blade to stand out more? Wife cut a new rim for the plates (2 stacked) - she doesn't like them, but I think they're fine And the waste from the rim we're turning into Plate stands Feel free to critique with advice and tips Thanks in advance
  20. I just can't seem to get a straight line cut no matter how hard I try. I know about the burr on the right side of blades, but still I can't seem to follow a straight line to save my life! Any help is greatly appreciated - it's really pissing me off now :( Thanks in advance
