Love it, and love the idea!! Something practical to make to remember the class by, instead of just some random heart-shape thing that'll get lost a week later.

Found it! Patriotic Eagle SVG Layered Papercut File for Cricut 4th of July Crafts - Etsy ElenaShowShadowBox

Now I kinda want to try my hand at segmentation again. This is awesome!!!

Sorry, just got home from work. I did find the pattern file, but it had no makers' marks or signatures or any info on where I got it, but yeppers, that looks exactly like the one I cut.

Me too, but the colors do contrast nicely....I don't hate the red/silver one, at least.

Wanting to say I found this one in the Pattern Library. Picked it up some time ago, though....got it enlarged, printed out, laid out on 3/8 bbply, pilot holes drilled....and my old 16" Wen was too small to run the piece. Didn't have room to turn it around or get to some of the interior cuts. So it got set aside in the "oops too big" stack. Upgraded to a Pegas 21" (almost got the 30", but my wallet growled at me....as did my wife....). Spent a couple of months doing some small projects here and there to get used to the tensioning, top-feeding, foot pedal, basically getting comfortable with the new saw (which absolutely ROCKS, btw), and pulled this one out of the stack. Pegas ran it like a charm. Went through a bunch of Pegas MG 01 and 1 blades until I figured out the tensioning (do NOT push the tension lever past the first "tight" spot...hard to explain without one in front of you, but there's a little notch where the blade tightens, then you can push it a smidge further and click it in place...I thought that last step was necessary. It isn't. You'll twang a blade in no time flat.). One is stained Minwax Natural and Honey, the other is rattlecan silver sparkle and fireengine red. Honestly thought my daughter would go for the silver/red. She likes the Minwax one, though. LOL

Just finished, first big project off the new Pegas 21". Measures about 18" across, I believe. Giving one to the daughter, not sure about the other one. Celebrating God's love for us, as well as the first big project completed.

Been some rough days around the household and the office for a while, so I haven't done as much sawdusting as I'd like. Had John 3:16 on the saw for a while now, so this weekend, to get the motivation back (as well as needing some more bookmarks....never can have enough bookmarks!!) I grabbed a couple of quick cuts from the Pattern Library (maybe one or two from Google), resized for the bookmark blanks that I have, and knocked a couple out. Still have several more to cut today, but this is what's in-progress. I've been using one of the blanks with a really intricate wolf head cut in it, and

2024 Year In Review - Scroll Saw Challenge
RabidAlien replied to Travis's topic in General Scroll Sawing
Some of my favorites from last year. John Wick is always a fun pattern to cut. The two lovers is one I'd wanted to do for a long time, and I had been wondering what to do with a small scrap of live-edge. And The Shadow...move over, Batman, the original brooding detective is back! The Shadow knows...- 53 replies

Some recent stuff. Scrooge is, of course, hanging up at work during December. Santa countdown is at my wife's desk, and the gnome ornaments usually find a spot on the tree somewhere.

Had a lot of fun with this one. Pattern is in the library, I did some quick on-the-fly modifications as I went. Pegas MG#02 blades, Minwax Ebony for backer and frame, Natural for project. "Awesomeness" is rattlecan sparkly silver spray. I used some scrap cardboard to block off the areas I wanted left Ebony, sprayed, and I guess my measurements were correct.

Nothing cozier than a comfy chair (gnome), a cuppa strong coffee in the morning, a tub of hot gooey cheese in the evening, and the unconditional love of your dogs.

Nice! Felt-bottom, or flocking?

Grew up with Duck Tales as my after-school unwind cartoon, Darkwing came a bit after I'd moved on to other things, but I do recall catching some of the shows and he was always funny. Besides, Launchpad McQuack was in it (dude sure made the rounds of Disney Afterschool cartoons), so it *had* to be good. Pattern was picked up on Google Images, can't recall which font I used. I can post the pattern in the library if anyone wants it. Minwax Natural and Honey stains, with some rattlecan Purple on the backer behind the lettering. Pegas #02MG blades on....3/8 bbply.

Oops, I'd bought two sets. That one was part of this pack: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1517282432/mechanical-coaster-laser-cut-turntable?ref=yr_purchases If Etsy won't cooperate, look for mechanical coasters by seller "VectorPortArt"

They were all fun to cut (the spinner not as much as the rest....repetitive cuts of the same shape get boring to me), that lovers one was my fav, pretty quick, I think I did that one in one day, 6 or 7 hours of cutting. Interspersed with caffeine and food breaks...
-
Recently finished these up while taking a "use it or lose it" week off from work. The fidget-spinner came from some Etsy 3D print patterns, that one was fun as I had to modify the pattern a bit. It had 3D printed clips holding the top and bottom together. The other three patterns came from the Pattern Library, here. The two lovers were done in some live-edge oak, I had a small piece left from another project that I didn't want to throw away, and had been looking for something to use on it.

Done at the request of my wife, Jack Skellington. Just found a cool pic on Google, same with his bow-tie. Also, done at my daughter's request (double-stacked this one, cuz its just that cool), John Wick. AKA, Baba-Yaga, the Boogeyman. Pencil holder was kludged together from some scrap, cut and sanded to size, and two holes drilled in for the pencils. Ignore the nail file, that was there to keep the pencils from leaning against the frame as the glue dried (also, they're great for sanding in hard-to-reach places, easy to cut to shape for awkward sanding, and a pack of 50 cost me $1 at WalMart).

Been wanting to try epoxy out, myself. Thanks for answering most of my questions!!! One more, though...is there a way to reliably figure out how much epoxy you need for a project/color, or is it mostly experience and eyeballing it? My fear is running short and not mixing up the same color on a second batch, or mixing too much and wasting or having to dispose of excess epoxy.
