Not that I know of, I just thought it looked really cool.

Had this pattern for a while now, not sure why I hadn't cut it before. Can't recall who the pattern is by (name is not on the page) but I believe I got it out of the Pattern Library here. Had to fiddle around with the clock insert diameter to get the right size, but finally managed to get the hole to the size that would fit the clock insert I ordered from Amazon. Not a lot of interior cuts on this one, most of the time is spent on the exterior.

Handmade Gifts Scroll Saw Challenge 2022

Been one of those years. Best I can muster is this piece, going to a co-worker who I know will get a kick out of it. -
Nicely cut! Coloring doesn't look all that bad, considering some of the "color schemes" I've seen requested.

Nicely cut! ...if there's no junk in the background, is it *really* a workshop?

Nice!! Sooooooooooooo glad my daughter is past that stage.

Not being a motorcyclist myself, I think it looks great!

After finally finishing up the multi-layered phoenix, I needed some quick-n-easy designs. These are patterns by Sue Walker, from the Pattern Library. Most of them are really quick cuts. 3/4" "whiteboard" from Lowes, stained Minwax Honey, cut with Pegas #3MG's.

What do you call a grouping of Snowmen???
RabidAlien replied to barb.j.enders's topic in Bragging Rights
If they were less....cutesy, I'd call em a "Calvin". Always loved Calvin & Hobbs' forays into snowman/snowmonster creations. Nicely cut!! -
Honestly, I'm probably the LAST one to get advice on something that is going to come into contact with food or hot pots/pans. I think the wood is pine from Lowes, and finished with the usual Minwax (probably Honey, its one of my favorite colors). I know you're supposed to seal them with something (urethane?), but since they rarely get used and only contact the bottom of the pot, I've never had any scorching or discoloration issues.

We're more of a "hang around the breakfast bar/counter and eat" than a formal "sit at the table" kinda family (mostly cuz the table is reclaimed 150-yr old barn wood table that my wife bought: its uneven and leans alarmingly, but is still rather sturdy). So no fancy centerpieces to put folks into any festive holiday moods or inspire Martha Stewart, but I do have the occasional trivet that get used during the two times a year we use that table.

Rope (or a porthole frame) goes better with the theme, IMO.

Been a long time in progress...multilayered Phoenix lightbox
RabidAlien replied to RabidAlien's topic in Bragging Rights
The two on the left, and the wolf howling at the moon on the far right are lights (wolf was my first lightbox, ordered the LED's and didn't notice it was a battery pack power supply until after I'd attached the lights and went to connect the power. Oops. Need to scrounge some batteries for it, they died. The dragon warrior and WW1 dogfight are just straight wood, no lights behind. -
So I started this multi-layer papercutting-lightbox pattern last year....then a bunch of family drama hit, and my cutting has been slowed down. Finally finished the pattern a month or two ago, but I really dislike cutting frames. Nope, dunno why, just don't care for it. So I finally got the frames cut, trimmed to size, a couple of pieces of opaque plexi sourced, LED strips applied, and final assembly done. One less project stacked up and moved from convenient-horizontal-space to convenient-horizontal-space in my shop. Stack-cut these, stained one with Minwax "Natural" and one with "Honey", and then alternated layers so that each layer stands out from the layer above and below. Still waiting on a power supply for one LED strip (the box that Amazon touted as having two....did indeed have two strips, but only one power supply with two ports to plug in both light strips to the one supply...so, technically, it works. But these two are going to be 20 miles apart and I doubt the cities of Austin, Cedar Park, and Leander would look kindly upon an extension cord of that length), but the one that's working is now up on the shelf at work.

Thx!! Its a quick cut, actually.

Not sure what to call this, exactly. My boss has an open-door policy, but fails to shut his door whenever he's on a Teams call or in a meeting, so I came up with a quick flip sign so folks will know if he's available or not. Font is "Old London" from dafont.com. Text/backers are 3/8 bbply, stained Minwax "Natural" and "Dark Walnut". Center piece is a piece of scrap red oak I had, posts and base are some scrap mystery wood (cedar, maybe? My allergies weren't happy with the sanding). Attached the text so that they're readable when the sign is rotated.

Stack-cut a couple of H.Botas roses. Backer is rattlecan teal, it'll match a couple of other pieces my wife has hanging around the house.

Not much of a horror fan, but.....dang, this is awesome!!! Is there a pattern for it?
-
Very nicely cut! I would've recognized both of them without the post title. And I suck at putting names and faces together. I'm with you on their music for the most part, Bowie puts a good tune out, but I never really *got* his lyrics. Queen, however...the more I hear them, the more I like them.

We don't get as many at our feeder, but usually have a dozen or so each summer. One or two emeralds, and the rest are .....black-throated?

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaat...is one big spider. What type is Zelda, do you know? I had a wolf spider living in my garage for a while, wish she'd come back because its cricket season again.
