  1. Amazing and beautiful! I always think of themself as patient, but that'd push me over the edge.
  2. I really like using boiled linseed oil on basswood. I like the amber hue it gives and it's easy to use.
  3. I work at a nationally known woodworking store and it's become common practice for most of us to recommend our customers to not buy Laguna tools for just the reasons expressed here.
  4. Thanks Bill. It turned out to be more difficult than I expected.
  5. Seems like it's been forever since I've completed any projects. The shop has seemed so cold since the first of the year and I just haven't had a lot of motivation. Anyway, this is a Christmas gift for my brother-in-law. And yes, I know it's 2 1/2 months late, but I think he'll still like it and probably get a laugh at it's tardiness. It's a Sheila Landry pattern, approximately 12" x 18", cut from 3/4" cherry. Thanks for looking!
  6. I love making toys and that one is a real winner!
  7. HA! I'm working on the very same thing. A Christmas (belated) gift for my brother-in-law... don't judge, lol. Might just turn into a birthday gift.
  8. Like others have said, if the cost and floor space isn't a concern, I'd keep both. IF I HAD to narrow it done to one, I keep the Dewalt. Delta as a company always seems to be questionable as of late and in years to come parts availability may be slim. Dewalt has been around in basically the same configuration for awhile and probably will have parts available. Just my thoughts.
  9. Never get as much done around Christmas time as I'd like to. I did get these done for a family gift exchange. I picked the patterns up on Etsy, I believe that they're for silhouette/cricut. Cut from 1/2" sassafras or 1/4" red oak, each about 4" long.
  10. I don't know what power it is, but I also have the one from Harbor Freight and just couldn't scroll without it. I was concerned about its longevity, but I've had it a few years without issues... knock on wood. I've go it mounted to the window sill directly behind my saw.
  11. I work at a Woodcraft store and prices have been going up so often we marked out the price on all the price tags on the "big iron". Jet and Powermatic (same parent company) had an increase in August and October. I wouldn't be shocked if there was another in early 22, not that I know that to be true. You know how prices (not just tool prices) are, they go up overnight and take forever to come back down. I'd be very surprised if prices came back down any in 2022. Demand is still high so why would they. I personally have a Jet drum sander and 8" jointer on order.
  12. Really, really cute.
  13. Love your work. I just added your Etsy shop to my favorites the other day.
  14. Those are beautiful. Should bring cheer to even the Grinch's Christmas.
  15. Looks great. A nativity was on my "to-do" list this holiday season, but I don't think it's going to get done.
