  1. I recently ordered parts and had a question. The person on the phone said that she would reach out to the original owner for an answer. So it had been sold at some point. The warehouse pictured on their website looks like a third party distribution center. Advanced machinery must think it is cheaper to have a warehouse ship rather than having their own warehouse employees.
  2. This is for my grandson. He recently got a schnauzer puppy. Pattern is from Woodworkersworkshop.com.
  3. Very nice. The one with the house and sleigh is my favorite.
  4. Baltic Birch. Cedar frame. Sue Mey pattern
  5. Made this for my wife. Steve Good pattern from 8/23/24. 3/4” maple.
  6. There is a man in UK with a lot of repair information about Hegner scroll saws. His Facebook is Hegner A Saw Subject. Here is a link to some of his posts. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=122164891778219647&id=61556589420174
  7. Outstanding. I think you should share this in Bragging Rights. Not many will find it in the Intarsia forum and an art work of this quality should be available for all to view.
  8. This was a gift for my eight year old grandson. He picked the colors. Cut from poplar. Most of the parts were cut on the scrollsaw. My wife painted using DecoArt acrylic paint and coated using a clear lacquer Plans are from Toymakingplans.com
  9. My local Home Depot in Denton TX has 1000, 1500 and 2000 grit in stock.
  10. I am curious what tape Denny of Artcrafters uses when he ships blades to us. I received blades yesterday and the blades were fastened to a mat board for shipping. I was able to remove the adhesive tape from the mat without damage.
  11. There is a person on Facebook that services Hegner saws and wrote yesterday about the changes with the saw. He is hard to find because of his unusual name. “A Saw Subject” https://m.facebook.com/story.php/?id=61553162265142&story_fbid=122112633236105408
  12. I saw this sale too. I have a 1996 18” that I bought new back then. It has the quick release update. I had two quick thoughts. 1) At the sale price, it is not much more than I paid in 1996. 2) My current Hegner is still so solid, that I don’t know what I would gain in buying a new version.
  13. In the video, he used paper towels and also cloth rags. He had cameras on the trash cans nonstop. He set up 25 different scenarios with combinations of storage containers, rags and different products. Over a ten hour period, there were three fires. Up to now, I felt like I have bern aware of the risk. Seeing how quickly these fires started, I realize that I have not been careful enough.
  14. My son sent me a link to this video. A test was set up to determine if oily rags used to apply boiled linseed oil will actually self combust. The video is 30 minutes long, but if you use boiled linseed oil, you should watch this. Even the person performing the test was surprised with the result. Link to video
  15. Like most here, I almost always use a MGT #3. Once in a while I will use a #5 or #1 both MGT. When I first started scrolling, I saw a blade chart and ordered several blade sizes including #7. I used one of those; not sure why I still have them.
  16. Dave, if you find it locally, please let me know. I will look too.
  17. I like #1 best. Asked my wife and she said to stain #1 darker.
  18. Dave, I see you have a Hegner and a Pegas. Which did you use for this project. when you buy from McKinney Hardwood, do you go to their location?
  19. Do you know where I can find this pattern ? Looked on Russ’s Etsy and could not find it.
  20. I found the chart. They changed from green to black in 2012. So with an 08 owners manual, it was from between 2008 and 2012.
  21. Reading the ad, it seems as if the husband passed away or is sick and his wife is selling the saw. I don’t like to take advantage of people in that circumstance but $700 might be high. But I don’t know on a 30” saw. She said the saw is almost new. What would the youngest age of a General made Excalibur? The instructions shown have a publication date of 2008. The saw does look to be in nice condition.
  22. Mahoney’s Walnut oil is treated to remove the chemical that causes allergies. It is used extensively by Woodturners for a bowl and platter finish.
  23. This is interesting. Says that is is made of Aluminum, then goes on to say that it is hard to rust. I would like to know how it works too. Price is right if it actually has enough power to sand and it tracks well.
  24. I would probably combine the two. I like the top two but I would probably make the mountains white.
  25. Since this is a scroll saw forum, I attached one of the pages from the instructions that shows some of the parts. You would use a scroll saw to cut out the wheel hubcaps. Some of the other parts would be cut out on a scroll saw too. The designer is from Turkey, he used what looked like a hand coping saw for some of his cuts. Matt
