I think he would really like a train clock that i made just for him you did such a lovey job on the clock i sure do hope the one i make lookes even at least half as good as the one you made!!
  17. thank you everyone, and just in case you didnt read my first message SPIKE GOT MY OLD SCROLL SAW WORKING!! And i found the message with the pictures and note you send me and he looked at that too....Hes in the wood shop now and im not going to bother him lol I have no idea how he got the old one working again or what he might be doing with the new one.....as i we talked about just letting it be to use to cut simpler things like when hes building stuff....so far hes built a salt box for my oldest daughter then he built her a dog toybox for there new puppy...a hound dog and my hes big already!!! and hes no where near growing into his feet.lol I had made lay overs for each box...snowmen and there names on the salt box and then i cut out a hound dog and then a bull dog for moose who died a few months ago and a shar pai for her coco who was her first dog after moving from home and they loved them. Then we decided i needed a new footstool...the one on my chair is to hard to open and close for me so i always just left it opened....lately though im been tripping over it when getting in and out of my chair....spike built it but i desgned it. since he didntwant to leave it hollow inside for me to put stuff in it I had him build like wood pockits for each side so i could put some of my stuff in those.........IT CAME OUT GREAT!! LOL i have the laptop with linex on it in one of the pockets, my dvd drive external harddrive and the usb thingy that lets me plug in more usb in there too...and of course cords.....the one side has my bible and bible study works in it and the other side has my graph paper wrighting paper and all my little notepads so there off the tables by my chair....now id best get to these dishes!! thank you everyone!!!
  18. im sure you are creative in your own way.... I used a pattern for the doors and windows....and then i used knowlage i have from doing other types of crafts to help me figure out what else i could do. thank you for the comlament.... My brain is running over time now trying to figure out how i can make a swingset and a few other things with out needing the saw lol
  19. well I dont know where the first post is I put up with my knobe house project pictures so i'll just put them all up here. the first few pictures are of the door and windows and then of the stick i cut in half before I made a grove in the middle of them. these are the window flower pots well for some reason the pictures are not in order! the last 3 pictures are also of the door and window boxes before i got them finished...lol now then the rest of the pictures are of the window boxes after i made the groves I drilled little holes in the groves and then i tooks some plastic flowers i had in the craft room and glued them into the holes. to make it looks nicer i glued some moss in the groves and around the flowers too. then it was off to the craft to get the box of small plastic birds and butterflys and the little medal birdcage i picked up some years back. I got a small stick from the stick pile and a little red bird cut a grove on the bottom of the bird and glued the bird to the branch then glued the branch inside of the birdcage. oh! I cut some small sauares from a plastic bag to make curtins for the windows cut them down the middle and then glued them to the back of the windows pulling them off to the side so they looked like they were tied back....sounds simple enough but easy it was not lol then i glued the window boxes to the windows Now i just happened to see some really small wood fllower pots in the craft room so i grabed a couple of those and painted them then glued some moss inside them then glued some plastic flowers in them as well..iv got some other ideas for the knob house to when and if i get them done i'll put those up too....lol now we just have to wait until it stops raining before we can go about figureing out how to put them on the stump outside
  20. realy beautiful work!
  21. I agree they all look just wouderful!
  22. beautiful work!
  23. wounderful! and i think i like it even better with out the eyes
  24. ok heres some pictures of what iv beening doing lately.as you can see I still have a long way to go before I can even consider my self a beginner wood carver lol but pratice makes perfect. the first picture is of the compound cut knob I got from here and i did a little carving on it and gave him a cig in his mouth...Im going to try to enlarge the pattern some so i can see if i can make a grove cut on the bottom of him to put on the rim of thin flower pots. Thhis second one is spikes birthday present. this was just a flat design I decided to try a little carving on. The next picture has a cowboy leaning against post. as you can see I really messed up the hat but better luck next time lol and then theres some waist peices from compound cuts that i decided to make into plant pokes and im not sure what im going to do with the flat fish lol add some pretty eyes maybe and theres a small knob waist peace i did a little carving on not sure what im going to do with that either....make a magnet or use in a layered project of some kind. Then theres the pumpkin I tried to carve from one of my carving mags....and the picture from the mag of what its SUPPOSE to look like....as you can see I have a long way to go but im also learning how to use my electric carving tools...and as you can see i really messed up the painting!! I didnt have the mag picture when i painted it it might have looked better IF i had the picture fromm the mag to look at while i was painting it....oh well lol then theres a little duck i carved from a chunky basicaly just rounding it some and definineg the tail...and then the dalphen on the wave chunky i did a little carvinging on and again mostly just rounding it some and trying to make it not look so much like a chunky and a flat moose....and then the compund cut knob i got from here again.I cut out 2 of the mag pumpkins for carving and im hoping i will do a better job on the second one then i did on the first one....and i'll cut out more of the knobs and see if i can make them look better. and i'll countue to try to add detail to some of my other chunkys as a way of praticing....unfrountly i dont have detailed pictures of the chunkys to use as a guide for drawing carving lines and doing the carvings..
  25. there all beautiful but my favorite would be the bottom left
