Dragonkort

well im going to start all over again with the mosics. not because i lost a couple of peices I can fix that but because i do not have the paticenc to try to put all those little pieces back together again. shudder! I was going to just toss them out but spike said to just put each one in a bag in case i want to try to put it together at another time. so ok thats what i'll do but i know im not going to want to try and put it together later lol now this time im going to make a 0 clearence for my saw and i will put a little table next to the saw so i can put each little peice into the frame as i cut it out!! lol I tried numbering each peace thinikng that would work but it didnt at least not for me!! lol so its back to the drawing board. maybe i'll just cut one out this time , that way if i mess it up or get frustrated trying to put together i only loose 1 peace of wood. lol

Well I saw my dr on monday and they ( all my drs) want me to start getting out of the house more now that its starting to get nicer out. Well I told them the main reason i havent been trying to do that is because i can no longer walk very far before i have to sit down and catch my breath, and most of the places we go dont have those little scotters for coustmers to use Well they have an answer for that.... a wheelchair. I know my brothers and sister will have a fit as my copd they say isnt that bad, but with the moderate copd i also have congested heart failer and i genaritive disk deseaze. That the dr said is why i get so wore out and tired when i try to do to much. I know there right after we got home fridayon i was exhausted and slept for the rest of day after i got off my nebulizer. Now this shouldnt be a shock for me I have known for quite some time that eventually i would need one but some how eventually always seemed sometime in the distance furture. I dont need to use it when im home, just when we go out. it will be a regular wheel chair at first because the motorized one is to big to fit in our little van. I have pushed pts in wheelchairs off and on all my life as a lot of my jobs were in hospitals and nursing home, but iv never sat in one and tried to move around in it. I dont know if trying to wheel myself around will be any better then walking as far as breathing goes. but spike wouldnt be pushing a shopping cart in most of those places so he could push me if i need him to. The wheelchair will be given to us free....all we have to do is pick it up tomarrow or tuesday at the latest. We'll proubly just keep it in the garage or van after i finishe praticeing how to stear it. I wont tell my siblings or my kids that i have it, so i dont have to justify using it to my sibs and it wont worry my kids. none of them every really go anywhere with us any way so inless they go in the gragre or look in the van they wont see it. You see im the oldest living kid in my family and having lived and worked with the migrines for over a decaide to them i am the strong one. Its the same with my kids, mom is stronger and indistructable, some day they will all have to come to the realazation that that isnt really true, but that time is not now. on the up side i will always have a place to sit lol no more looking for a chair or bench to rest on while im out and about. humm ill have to see what i can do to supe it up some..... I have all kinds of materals.....humm I could make a cover for the back and emborider a dragon on it. ......if the seats big enough i could maybe make some kind of padded sling or pillow for sheba to lie on. not sure how im going to handle that...Her bag will be to bulky to hold in the chair espically if im tryingto move it myself....maybe i can get a service dog patch to sew onto her sling and put her in that. Is cloth and gos over one of my sholders and then theres openings on either side and it makes like a little sling for her to line in so my handsare free. and she has her banndana if she sits on my lap saying shes a service dog..... dont know guess i'll have to wait until i get it to see what if anything i can do to make it look nice and be compatable with sheba....and now i need to take a nap....this is not really a bad thing....just another step in learning a new way to live and like i said i dont have to use it here at home at least not yet, but its a good thing we didnt sell the wheelchair ramp that came with the house..i'll proubly need it eventually......

well i started cutting out the 3/4 inch mosic and so far iv lost 3 of the teny tiny peaces to floor and i cant find them anywere. spike said he will look when he finishes doing up the taxes. If there findable spike will find them. He's a retired prison garud and hes search many a cell for wepons and other things the prisoners werent suppose to have. if we cant find them after i get everything dried fitted together i will TRY to trace around the hole and hopefuly be able to make replacement peices..if that dosnt work i'll try to see if i can salavge any of the projects one way another and if i cant well then we will just chalk it up to gaining experence. lol I do however know one thing i will NOT try to do another one until i get a 0 clearence made if we dont have plexis glass i do have 1/4 in plywood i can try to use. The only reason i havent made one already is because i didnt have a pattern and as we know i cant draw but i have a large roll of tracing paper now and maybe i cut off a large portion of it and tape it to my saw table and trace around it to get the pattern. all is not lost though..I have 3 sets of the first armor of God wood paper dolls cut ready to sand and paint and i have a box of compound cut and waist to carve up...and thats just in the woodworking lol hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!

well I spent the morning in the woodshop. im working on the unicorn patterns i traced out from my mosic pattern book. So far the cutting isnt hard, very basic stuff. Im cutting it out 3 times. 2 in 1/4 inch wood so i can make one mosic and one puzzle out and the last one i'll be cutting out in 3/4 inch wood....all of them will have a 1/4 in backer. So whats my problem you might ask? I dont have a 0 clearence on my scroll saw and so far i have lost 3 very small peices through the hole and onto the floor and i cant find the darn little things... grrrrr!! and as much as i love making puzzles and cutting things out to put back together again i hate doing puzzles!!! and i have to put the 2 1/4 in peices back together again so i can try to trace the missing peices. But nerver let it be said that i do things half way!! now when i cut out the peices i put them in bowls so i wouldnt loose them....IF i had been thinking i would have gotten 2 different kinds of bowls but of course i didnt....nope i grabed 2 bowls that look excetly alike...and then just to make things more interesting I got the 2 bowls mixed up!! lol so im taking a break and am going to crochet and watch tv for a little bit befor cutting out the 3/4 inch peace and hopefuly IF the really small peices fly off the saw or fall through the hole i'll be able to find them as they are thicker then all the other stuff on the floor and if spike tells me this wouldnt be a problem if i cleaned up after i cut out a peice im going to bop him up side the head!!! lol ritia gave me some plexaglass so im going to look and see if i have a peice big enough to use on my scroll saw table top so i can make a 0 clearence for my scroll saw....lol nothing like putting the horse before the cart!!! hopeful the rest of you are having a better day!!! lol

i know God has a sense of humer because if he didnt he wouldn't have made you men so aggravating and annoying!!! Do you have a reset button you push every night that makes you forget everything you know? Spike and i have been together 17 years and you would think he would know by now if i say i'll be out ( of the wood shop) as soon as i finish cutting this out, i MEAN i will be out as soon as i finish cutting this out. now i dont really mind his comming into the woodshop every now and then when im scrolling, i kind of like it really. But he has got to learn that i weeze....its what i do now and im not going to stop everything im doing every time i get a little out of breath. it bothers him more then it does me. it dosnt make any sense for me to stop what im doing go into the livingroom get on my nebulizer then go back to scrolling where im just going to get out of breath again. When im finished doing what im doing then i'll get around to resting or using the nebulizer if i need to. its the main reason i waite until hes gone to vacume and clean up around here. now i know i do not have stupid written on my forehead. Dont you think if i thought i should stop and take a break i would ? then he decides to help me clean up around my chair, because i am not a neat person. lol is he just figureing this out. lol The airea around my chair is always a mess. i always have baskits and bags around my chair with the materal in them for the projects im making. so we got all the plarn put in a tub this evening. actuallly i started get that sorted out this morning. i do how ever think i'll wait until tomarrow to get my crocheting baskit with the cotton i need to start crochetting some barbie clothes out. lol now i think i will go suck the ornary out of him so we can enjoy the rest of the evening!!! lol

i only take an animal i cant keep to a no kill pound or shelter. If i could keep every stray i find id have a house full of animals, lol frountuly for dogs and unfrountly for me most strays i find are birds fallen out of there nests, raccoons bunnies, and such. and spike wont let me keep them lol but thats not a problem i always let them go once they were healthy enough to be set free again Since iv been an adult i have had a multi animal home, even more so since my kids are grown. The first thing i thought of was jealousy. it happens in all spceses including human...so I make it a point to treat all the animals as much the same as i can depending on spices. With dogs i have a rule that spike sometimes finds hard to follow...what ever you do for one dog you do for both. Actually Henery was getting more attention then sheba. Being a much younger dog we could play together, mostly fetch as i can no longer do anything for any real length of time. lol at 15 she tends to spend most of her days sleeping, butshe does that mostly on the floor these days as she cant get comfortable on the chair with me. The only real difference is sheba being my service dog she goes out with me anytime i leave the house, I cant change that and you cant really leave dogs in a car anymore even if its not to hot or to cold. so I give the dog who has to stay home an extra treat and i rotate the dog toys so i can get one out thats not been played with in a long time to give them that has always worked in the past.... but iv never had a shitzoo before and different breads of dogs so at time have different inborn instincks and trates.... what it seemed like it was to me power struggle....he wanted to move up in rank, which i wouldnt let happen. some dogs just have to be the leader of the pack or at least the alpha dog. Henery couldnt be either. but we could guess forever and never really know what happened i suspect a combanation of all of the above. I am looking for another dog but this time IF its a breed iv never had before i'll goggle it to see if they have any trates im unfimular with it. and how to deal with them if i decide to get the dog.... spike would like me to start thinking about what kind of dog i will want for my service dog after sheba dies, but im not going to get another dog to take shebas job ( no dog could take her place anymore then she did chariles place my first service dog) and start training it while shes still alive that just wouldnt work. if i started leaving sheba home and taking another dog when i go out she would die. shes been literaly at my side 24/7 since she was 6 weeks old. oh well all we can do is our best and lean on God for everything else...im sure he will lead me to the right dog to add to our home...my main mastake with henry was not asking God to guide me to the right dog in the first place, it never works out well when i dont and always does when i do youd think at my age id remember that lol

well we did have a bit of sadness this weekend. At the end of the summer spike and i got a cute little shitzoo dog. He was 8 months old at the time and everything was going just wounderfuly until this past 2 months. For some reason I can not figure out he started getting mean. it started with little fights with sheba but that i figured was instint. sheba is like 17 and i know wolfs and ferral dogs push the old and weak out of the pack so i just made sure they were never alone together espical when it was feeding time. But then he started bitting us. The first time was when we were giving him a bath that he didnt like and not knowing if he had ever had a bath before i chalked it up to being afraid. but then a few days later he was lying on the head of the bed on my pillows and when i went to move him he bit me and there was no way it was due to being afraid of something. he bit me again a week or so later when i took shebas food from him and gave it back to her and then again when i was brushing him. each time he bit he was put into the wood shop away from the family for a little while. then on friday he was sitting in my chair and when i went to sit down he didnt move like he usuly did and when i went to push him over he snaped at me then spike got up before i could do anything to pick him up and take him off my chair he bit spike...not a nip a growling hard bite. so we started talking about taking him to the pound i had just decided to give him one more chance and see if i could get through to him when ritia came over and he actually attacked her. this was not the first time shes come over since we got him. so sadly i had spike take him to the pound. now i checked him for signs of any wounds or discomfort....hed been eating good and playing with his toys other then the bitting he was the same as hed always been. im still baffaled as to what caused him to start getting mean...the only way he was treated differently then sheba is the fact that he couldnt always go with us when i had to go some where. iv had dogs all my life and iv never had one turn like that. spike and i are the only 2 people in the house so i know no one was hurting him... now when we got him like i said he was 8 months old and had already had 4 different homes, it makes me wounder if maybe bitting was a reason for his having so many homes before we got him but it seems like he would have displayed this behavior sooner if that was the case. i sorely miss the woundeful little puppy he was before but i cant have a dog that bites as my grandson comes out and then there was the attacking of ritia... since being an adult iv always had 2 dogs...being pack animals i just think there happyer if they a cainine friend at least thats what i tell spike....i know im happer with 2 poor spike he dosnt want to live in a mini zoo so im limited to having only 4 pets he dosnt care what kind they are for the most part although since the insodent with the german shepard he dosnt want me to have anything but small dogs....oh well there must be some reason he started getting mean i ust wish i knew what it was

My friend Ritia has tried to teach me how to paint better..... i do a bit better now then before her help but i dont think i'll ever learn the more complex stuff like shading and making things look far away or close up and to think my youngest daughter is an art teacher!! lol she must have gotten that talent from her father lol he always drew up my patterns when i first started before i got the scroll saw magazines

oh and frank i used the clear expoxy resin. Iv only got one side finished because i want to make a few more small things that i can use any expoxy reasin on that i might have left over from doing the other side of the dragon house sign

I dont do a lot of really complex stuff mainly because the more fret cuts in a picture the project always wound up breaking the closer i got to being finished being on here let me know that the only thing i really did wrong was not using the right kind of wood. There are some things you just dont know or take a really long time to figure out when you teach yourself from books. Iv looked through a ton of my scroll saw books at the patterns to see if i missed something where it tells what wood to use and i didnt, the patterns all just say 1/4 in baltic bearch. After I use up a good portion of the wood my friend gave me i'll ask spike to get me some of the more expinsive wood. Right now im working on the armor of God wood paper dolls and i printed out a few copies of a unicorn mosic that im going to cut to. one of them im going to turn into a puzzle...i think all i have to do in order to convert it into a puzzle is to make the little tab like things here and there when i cut it out so the pieces hold together better when put together. We'll see how that goes before i try to turn some of the other patterns into puzzle. Since i cant draw a stright line with a ruler i'll have to see how the first one looks. Then im going to do one mosic in 1/4 inch wood for top and bottom and one with 1/4 inc wood for the backing and 3/4 wood for the pieces and see how they come out. and of course iv printed out more of the compound cut carving patterns. and inbetween all that im trying to clean off my lath table as iv found a few begers lath patterns i want to try out when i get a minute. we wont mention the yarn and cloth patterns i have in the planning stages waiting for me to get to them. lol i usuly wind up doing one kind of craft most of them and then switching to another for awhile so we'll see when i get around to actualy setting up the sewing machine and emboridy machine. lol

When we get it hung i'll take another picture and i'll see if spike wants to get a post to hang it on...not sure how hed hang it on the flower post. lol The wood i think was out door plywood like you use for flooring, thats one of the reasons i chose it. lol i also put weather proofing on it before painting it and last the expoxy resin. Should hold up for a year or two or more lol id like to turn our yard into like a fairy land but spike hates to have to move a lot of things to mow and of course most everything that cant be mowed he weed wacks around so we'll see how much stuff he'll let me make for outside lol

Got a call from my Brother, Tricia's out of surgery and in recovery. It was good news all they had to remove was the growth...no cancer YEA!!! She will come home either later on today or tomarrow. My brother will call and let me know. Thank you every one for the prayers.

ok iv finally finished the Dragon house sign and im ready to put the finish on it. I put weather sealent on it before i painted it. My girl friend gave me some epoxy reisn, The directions are worn off the bottle which is ok as i know how to mix it but what I need to know is will expoxy reisin stand up well outside and if not what would recomend I use as the finish? Thank you all so much

Thank you every one. This is not the first time our family has had to live with and through cancer. Several years ago my sister in law had breast cancer...so of course she went through cemo and eventualy had her breast removed. my brother was so understanding....He even shaved his head in support of her as she lost her hair. anytime she went out or had company she put on her cancer baseball cap with hair attatched to it that looked just like her real hair, and then about 5 years ago my mom had lung cancer we all pratcialy lived at her house until she died.... it was to say the least hard watching her get worse andworse wewere all at her bedside telling her it was ok she didnt havetofight anymore, that wed all be alright and it was ok for her to let go. of course it wasnt and we all still moran herlost.... we've been told our clansih ways is unusuly these days but mom was the head of our familys....even after we married and had children. dad died from emphisma and copd, so you see we have all been here before oh and my sisters name is patricia or tricia never pat or patty ! lol She tossed a boy across the room once for calling her that lol she has a brown belt in ki fin do... dont know if she got her black belt before she had to stop. Her eye dr told her she couldnt take any more hits to the head as her retna i think it was might detatch and leave her blind.

Hi guys , Havent been on for a day or so because my sister has been having a lot of medical tests. She has a very large tumor in her left breast. it takes up most of her breast and is causing her a great deal of pain. The fast rate that it is growing is also a cause for concern. She called me the other day to let me know that she will be having surgery to hopefuly remove just the tumer....or if the biopsy comes back and shows it to be cancer she may have to have her left breast removed as well. they will do the biopsy right after they remove the tumer.....and since she has to have her gall bladder out to they will take her galbladder out while waiting for the biopsy results. my little sister is 10 years yunger then me and she has never smoked anything other then pot now and then. because of covid none of us is allowed to go with her and be with her befor or after the operation. He best friend is going to drive her to the hospital and then he will go to the caseno for a few hours until the surgerys are done.....and then hopefuly he will be able to pick her up from the hospital and take her home. v asked her to come stay here for a day or so after her operations but she is planning on going home. we will have the bed ready here for her if she changes her mind these are the first surgerys she has ever had and i dont think she relizes how draining any operation is let alone 2 operations at the same time. Please pray that the tumor is not cancer and that both her operations go well and perhaps maybe ask God to help her change her mind about comming here for a few days after her surgerys. Although i never worked as a medical assistant because of the agoraphobia I do have a degree as a medical assistant and when i was much younger i worked as a nurses aid so i am more then qulitfied to take care of her IF she dosnt decide she HAS to be independent and handle all this by her self and alone. Well iv spent the last few hours working on the Dragon house sign. If you remember the picture of it i have in works in progress you will see that under the feet and then wraped around the tail theres a rectangle of wood with like a frame around it.... Now my orginal idea was to lower the wood inside the rectangular frame and the paint our house numbers on it. Well that was taking a really long time so I decided to see if i could find my carving chisals...I couldnt but i did find the small box some of my little knives was in and i tried that but it wasnt working the blades are in great need of sharping so then i grabed a couple of spikes big chisles which was working better but since i have nothing to clamp the sign down on the darn dragon keep moving on me while i was trying to chisiel out some of the wood where the numbers will go. This of course made spike nervious lol ( iv never had anything to clamp my projects to so i just hold them or hold them down on the table) so he got a small clamp and tried to clamp it to the kitchen table but that didnt work either. So i decided id go back and forth between the chisels and the dremil until i got the sign lowered on each side so that the letters will look like there in some kind of frame. well spike watched me do that for a few minutes and decided it was to dangerous lol so he said he had an idea and took the dragon into the woodshop. I have no idea what hes doing lol but im sure it will be fine and it saves me some work. lol then i finish line carving the lines of the dragon and see if spike can tell me where i need to lower some things and such if he dosnt know maybe if i take a picture of it someone here would be able to help me from a picture if not....well iLL just have to pray more and hope God will guide me and i will understand what hes telling me to do lol if worse comes to worse i'll just leave it with the line carving put weather proffing on it and then paint it..... spike just came in and said i dont know how you have managed to keep all your fingers the way you go about doing things!!! lol but he has a great idea on how to lower the wood and smooth it out some on each side so it will be ready to paint. wounderful!! that will cut 3 or 4 days off the time it will take to finish it

i do wish i had a spell checker!!! anyway i was getting ready to find some wood so i can start one of the patterns in my new woodworking book and print out some compound cut and carving patterns so i could glue then to the wood while spike went out to check the mail...I never did get into the wood shop because when spike came in he had a wood carving mag we got in the mail. Since neither of us can remember ordering the mag we are woundering who did? we both checked our credit card accounts and looked back through all the receits we have from on line stuff we bought and there is no record of either one of us ordering the mag. so we checked the address on package just in case it was delivered to the wrong address but nope, it had my name and address on it....so i turned the heater off in the woodshop and im looking through and reading the articals in the mag. We figure IF one of us ordered it we should get a bill for it sometime in the next month or so.....but like i said neither one of us remembers ordering it....and cant think of any one else who would have ordered it for me.... humm just a tad bit of a mystory well im off to read through the mag and enjoy myself maybe tomarrow i will get some new projects put on wood lol

Thank you. i have a large pile of twigs, branches and sticks in the back yard, as well as small logs iwe've llived here going on 6 years now and spike still hasnt gotten rid of them. Now i wont let him lol im trying to think of other things i can make out of them.....i think i can make a fairy house out of an empty soda bottle and sticks glued to it, instead of using little stones.....and maybe make doors and windos out of some for the fary houses i make with stones. I'll have to see how that works... i think i can take a rather thick branch and cut it verticaly to make a couch....and who knows what else i might be able to think up

its those really close cuts that always get me....you did a totaly fantastic job!!! i love it!!! my friend gave me a ton of wood she cant take with her up north so im going to see about getting some more expensive 1/4 inch wood for doing some nicer fret work....not right away of course....have to hit spike with the can you go to the lumber yard and get me some,,,,,,,,,,for doing harder fret work? after he sort of forgets how much wood i now have in our little shed lol now could you guys tell me what kind of 1/4 inch wood you use for your fret projects? i wont try the wizzard right away...i'll try something a little easer then that but harder then what i usuly do. and hopefuly i wont wreak it stronger wood and smaller blades i do believe you guys said i needed.....i still have some of the real small blades and will get some more...but its the type of 1/4 inch wood i need to know to tell spike to get for me... and now i really need to get off of here will look at more posts next time im on and thank all of you for shareing you beautifull work!!!
