Well I know I said id have pictures of the ark of the covent im making from Steve goods pattern but spike is polyurthing them right now. I made 4 of them and I broke one of the pieces of the people holding the pole that the ark rests on. Well I remade it and this time spike broke the darn thing!!! lol but luckly for me he was able to gule it back together so I don't have to remake that piece again. lol yea!! I must mention that I didn't follow the directions exactly. It says If I remember right that the piece is suppose to be made from 1/4 and 1/8 inch wood. Well I have a hard time getting 1/8 inch wood here. lowes and marnards don't seem to have it and that primarly where I get my wood. Im going to ask my son in law if he can fnd me some 1/8 inch wood as I can't always fudge the pattern im using. lol So what I did was I made the ark out of the 1/4 inch wood and the people I made out of 3/4 inch wood. this worked out pretty good and I think it looked nice as it gave me some wood to practice carving. I ran into a few problems doing this however ….. or one problem times 4! when I made the side bars of the ark where the notches are....I didn't figure in the larger wood of the poles!! lol grrrr so now I had to either toss out what I had made or try to think of some way to get the wider poles to rest inside those little notches from the sidebars of the ark....well I am not one to redo something and waist the good parts when If I can find a way to fix it. So what I did is this....I cut 4 very small pieces of the 1/4 inch wood and then drilled a hole with my very small drill bit into the side of the 1/4 inch wood and then on cut a small piece of toothpick and glued it into the drilled hole. I did this for all for of the side bars then I set the side bars on the the part that's suppose to be the pole and drilled a little hole where the notiches lined up and insirted the other other end of the toothpick into the hole on the bar the people were holding. this will make more sense when you see the pictures. im afaired im not explineing it very well. but anyway now the sidebars of the ark rest on pole parts better. I also seem to have trouble when making notch and slot projects. no matter how careful I am I never seem to be able to get the notches to fit into t he holes!!! grrrs lol so it takes a lot of fanagleing to put the darn things together. I used all 1/4 in wood for the ark so you would think the notiches would fit nicely into the slots.....but no the notches were all to big to fit into the slots. well spike helped me put it together by making the slots bigger until the notices would fit into them. unfrountly this made some of t he slots to big!!! well neither one of us wanted to redo all the ark pieces again (espicaly since I have this problem with all notch and slot projects I do. (you proubly already know this trick but just in case you don't heres what we did. )we used white alex pluss acrylic latex caulk plus silicone to fill in the holes then sanded it smooth before painting it. lol I wouldn't do this on toys or anything that's going to be used for food,, but for something like this it worked great!! the first 2 look a little rough so I'll keep one of those and give the other one to my daughter. the 2 that came out good i'll give to the 2 people who asked me to make them one. lol today I finished cutting out the elephant phone charger thingy and yes the notches don't fit into the slotes!!! grrrr!! this time however instead of trying to make the slots bigger i'll take my trusty dermal and work on making the notches smaller. im making like 10 of them so hopeful at least half of them will come out good enough to give away and if im real lucky one or two might be good enough to put in the stock box. lol i'll get the pictures up asap hopefuly tomarrow so this post might make a little better sense. lol tomarrow i'll fagle with the elephants and tonight i'll just sit and crochet a bit or maybe cut out some plastic canvas. lol

I saw the mouse screamed and jumped up on a chair until spike got it away from her finished killing it and put it in the trash. lol silly man started to bring it to me to show me hed gotten it, I screamed again.lol DONT BRING IT OVER HERE !!!! lol he informed me it was dead and I informed him I didn't care if it was cut into little pieces I didn't want it any where near me!!! can you tell im scared silly of mice. lol

This is a little sea turtle box. I had a little sea turtle named spock but I have to give him away. He was getting to big for his aquriem and I couldn't afford to keep buying bigger ones, although I think I would have tried to find different container to him in if it wasn't getting just to hard for me to clean out his aquarem. I had to make sure I had a top over his container what ever it was so ivy our cat couldn't get to him. I miss him terribly but we do what is best for our animal children in the long one. Im sure hes proubly happier in his new home. One of the teachers at the elemantry school took him. He stays in the class room wth all the kids during school and whenschool is out she takes him home where she has several other turtles of varies kinds.lol owl always love you I made because it was cute and I needed stock for me craft boxes. I did this cocatial in memory of my little napolen. This is another reycyled project. i''ll try to find a better picture. Its a gulf ball bird. I cant make to may of these because I don't play golf. lol I just happened to find a small bag of old golf balls at my favorite thrift store and picked them up. my poor spike he looked at me shook his head and said what are you going to do with old golf balls? lol now this little guy wasn't a wood craft project all at!! I got him out of one of my plastic canvas pattern books. lol I didn't have any plastic canvas at the time but I wanted to make this for Halloween so I just redid it into wood lol well that's enough for now i'll add more pics of some kind or another tomorrow. lol now this ghost

LOL Fedido, I can't do math either. lol We live about 15 minutes from johnsons workbench and I once went in to to fill our a job application. They sort of knew me because Id been going there off and on for years to get supplys. Well anyway they gave me a test to take and I looked at it and if was all math!!! Well I knew right then and there I wasn't going to get a job there. lol So I took the test back in and told them Id changed my mind. Since like I said they sort of knew me they asked why? It seemed to them that this would be a great job for me. When I told them I can't do math they wanted to know well like how much math could I do. Sorry to say I can bairly do first -second grade math. I even have a spical tape measure that has what all those little lines between the numbers means. lol spike made me a wood size gage thingy for me by cutting small squires of wood out of the main woods I work with and wrote down on them what sized wood they are the thickness of them lol I have memorized those so don't have to really look at it anymore. lol Then they asked just HOW did I manage to do woodworking and scrolling with out math? lol befor spike made me the wood gage thingy id just look at the picture of the finished project and then find a piece of wood that looked about like what was In the picture. lol so thanks for shareing now I know im not the only one who has to just sort of wing it when im doing my crafting lol

I have GOT to get spike (bf) to look at and read this theard!!! lol He just cleaned and organized my workshop! lol Why pray tell do you ask? Because this is a quote....YOU never put anything away or clean this room. LOL he's given up on my craft room. lol When we brought this house about 5 years ago one of the selling points was a fairly good sized work room. I have enough room in it to have all my power tools in it out and up and ready to use!!! I even have room to walk around in there and theres a wood cabinet that runs all across the short end wall I can put stuff in and on. I'll see if spike can take a pic of it before my messy disorganized self winds up messing it up again. lol Before that I lived in the back apartment of my moms duplex. There was a very long narrow room with shelves along half of one long wall where I had all my pattern mags and paper patterns as well all my paint, and tools and supplys. lol I had to move things around the shelfs to get what I wanted half the time and if that was't bad enough I I had like 3 big boxes in there full of plastic bags packing stuff and unfinished crafts and finished crafts. lol My wood was kept in a plastic garbage can, now that was fun trying to get out the wood I needed. lol I stashed some wood under our bed as well as broken down shipping boxes in our bed room. lol where the majority of my other craft supplys were in bags. lol now for painting I had a small desk behind our bed and rolling drawer thingy on wheels for small bottles of paint. lol The bigger things I painted on the kitchen table. But it seemed pretty big to me at the time because before that I lived in a little trayler with my kids and for awhile my tools were in moms basement about 3 miles from where I lived, that only lasted a few months before I decided this was not a good aragrement. Which means I had my brother and father help me bring my scrolls and drill press to my trayler where I made room for them in the kitchen!!!! lol my hand held power tools were stashed under the kitchen table and in a small metal cabnet I put under the bar sepreating the kitchen and living room. It worked out pretty good there and there was still room for 3 bar stools under there too. lol that seemed like heaven at the time because before my ex left me he would have to haul my scroll saw upstairs and into the kitchen of the house we lived in at that time after I lost the basement. lol its true where theres a will theres a way! lol i'll look and see if I can find any pictures of theses as it never really accured to me to take pics of my working aires. even though I have a good woodshop now I usuly do all my paitig and putting together of projects in the kitchen.lol gezz I talk a lot.lol on posts anyway in person I hardly say a thing. lol

Not sure if im doing this right or not so just let me know if I should just add to the first topic or start another one when I add pictures. Now this piece is made from scrap wood I had from another project. I thought it looked to nice to toss out so I went to my emboridy machine and emboried this saying and picture. When that was done I used this scrap piece as the frame. lol I have a few more of these scrap wood pieces that I will use as frames for other things. lol second picture is the mouse pincousin opened from the other post. LOL it was just a sitting there saying I don't know why you didn't see me before. lol. then we have paul bunin. yes yes I know horrable spelling. lol anyway paul is from one of my compound cut books. I used dowl if I rmember right for the tree stumps. Then I used 2 scrap pieces of wood and fitted a broken sawblade to it to make the saw. the wood the saw is inbeded in is an old plastic branch from a cake decoration I had left over. I made the bed roll from a scrap piece of denim and the little rocks are really left over pieces of puter I nabbed from a friend of mine before she could put it back in her casting pot to remelt. lol behind paul is a plastic fern tree. not sure where that came from . I don't think you can see it in the pictures but my friend donated a leadbased cast ax for paul to hold. my poor spike every time I say DONT THROW THAT OUT! he says do you HAVE to save EVERYTHING!! lol I say no but don't throw anything away before you ask me first. lol He doesn't listen to that lol so I have to try and catch him before he tosses out a potential craft item. lol i'll post more next time. when you are tired of seeing all the wood stuff iv crafted over the years just let me k now. Right now im working on the ark of the covenit pattern that I got from steve goods patterns. I'll post that one when its finished.

you asked for pictures so here goes. now remember I' do easy things so be kind. lol The first one is a squarll ( I work in wood don't ask me to spell to! !) my younger cousin lives in California and someone told me they don't have squarlls there so I figured I d send her one. lol the second one is a clown lamp I made for a coworker years ago. then we have the lucet. you use it with yarn to make bets and such. I made several of these...one for each of my daughters and me and the craft box.lol I made the bag it goes in to.im real big on recycling thus the cow planter, candy dish or what ever. lol I got the patterns for the layered animals from the winterfiels colloction and I make all kinds of things with them.another thing I make with them are banks and pin cousions with a storage airea well somewhere I have a picture of the mouse pin cousin opened but I can't find it right now.lol to open it you just side the hind end up over. theres a dowl pin in the body and the back legs part. my mom asked me to make her a go away sign so that's the last picture. let me know if you wan to see any more.
