ok you asked for a few more pics. the first one is just a little ol toy car I got out of a woodworking mag I think. the second one was I think another plastic canvas project I got from somewhere and decided to convert them into a kitchen set. I made the potholders with my girls when they were little. And I found the white rose. lol I the frog picture frame and toy fish I got out of pattern mags or book. I have a couple of books on how to make articulik toys ( you know the toys with moving parts) and I have a big book of wirggly gigs I havent done to much out of those because they don't have pictures I can trace and im not sure I could put them together. but im going to try and do some after I get everything going again with spikes help. he can hopefuly help me get the pattern pieces the right size and help me put them all together. He keeps telling me these days that I don't have to try to just make do with what I have....we CAN like you know buy the right stuff to do my crafts with. lol Spike told me he'ed go in half with me if I want to take the class's at johnsons workbench for how to use the lath. that's my big getting out of the house goal. lol

lol I know that feeling to, lol besides woodworking I knit sew crochet and do plastic canvas. then theres ingraving on glass with my ingraving tools. I also know how to do sandblasting. when my ex died I inhearetd his blasting cabnit. when we were together we used an old washingmachine for that. I have every thing I need to start doing that again, only problem is I don't know how to hook everything up to air compresser so it will do the sandblasting lol spike dosnt either...I hope this summer I can use the computer to find some examples and instructions on how to hook everything up.lol but of course that's not what were here for!!! im just taking a break from hunting up a new wood project to start. lol huumm I bet that's how i get a box or two of unfinished crafts!!! lol
-
right now amazingkevin with connor ( grandson) we do the simple things. lol his first project was to paint a wooden car envelop opener I had in my not finished crafts.( I hope im not the only one with a box or two of unfinished crafts just sitting there waiting to be done. lol the I found him a simple cut out to trace and put on the wood. after I cut it out and did most of the sanding with my sander I gave him some sandpaper and him finish sanding it. thennow he got to paint it. the last time he was here he found an old barn I had started making at one time or another but it didn't come out quite right so it was in my wood stash. when he asked if he could have it.....well whats a grandma to do...lol I had him trace some animals and a boy and girl and then while I was cutting that out he painted the barn. lol you would have thought id giving him a real horse or something. lol he played with it all the next day. lol oh and how proud he was when he showed it to daddy. lol now I haven't felt that good since my kids were little and we did the same kinds of things lol Thank God for grandchildren.lol

your right trackman, lol iv had several of those over the years....now you would think I would just forget about those pesty little old elephant phone charges but nnnoooo lol Iv dug out the spray adheistve and pick out some cloth to see if I can do some damage control lol some times it works and sometimes it doesn't. then I'll work on something else for awhile and then torment my self with those pesty little elephants again and again and again until I get it right, run out of wood, or drive every living thing is this house batty!!! lol but this time iv been able to get some expert advice and help. usuly I just have to keep playing with it and talking to spike who normaly isn't quite sure what im talking about. lol oh hes good at building things and fixing things but this craft stuff sort of takes him a minute or two to grasp what im trying to do. lol hes better at it now then he was years ago. the man has learned a lot about woodcrafts and I don't know how many times hes torn my sewing machine apart and fixed it for me. lol and to think 15 years ago he didn't even know what a craft was. lol

lol I know the feeling, spike often asks me if I EVER throw anything out!!! Now im not sure if this would work for you or not I havnt really done much as far a bowl...but I save all my little scraps of wood and the thin ones 1/4 inch I think it is I make magnets out of. and you don't have to buy or make your own patterns. you can make magnets out of any small picture you can get on the wood that can be painted. I'll look around and see if I can find or take pics of the magnets I have. the kids helped me decorate for the holidays and now I don't know where half of my non holiday things are. lol another thing you can do with these small pieces of wood is go to the winerfiels collection and get there small layered animanl patterns. there are a great way to use up scrap pieces i'll go through my boxes and upload some pics of those for you. Now I also do a ton of other crafts....forgive me if this is a little off topic....I take milk jug rings you kow the ones that area left after you break the seal? well I crochet around those then put a back on it and I make picture frames out of those, one of the things I do with my scrap wood the 1/4 inch wood I think it is is I cut out small pictures I trace from magazines and order books or where ever I can find small coloring book like pictures. I transfer the pic to my wood cut the out paint them and then glue them to the picture frames. I must admit im running out of plastic rings but its ok as iv figured out how to crochet poptab rings into the same kind of picture frame. lol you can also use them as overlays ( might not be the right term) I made myself a book shelf a few years ago and over layed some of the cut out scraps to the outside after I cleaned the up. im sure theres more you can do with the scraps but my mind just isn't giving me them right now lol

great pattern!!! she will love it!!

that is just beautiful...and so nice of you to make it for her. some one made a pattern for me ofmy first support dog Charlie but iv never felt confinte enough to try cutting it out. so many skinny close together lines lol iv thought of asking some one to make a pattern of my darling sheba but not sure if id be confanet enough to cut it out eithr a she has the same kind of hair. you did a fabuliouse job on that
-
fantastic!!! iv never seen a pattern like that before and you a great job on it!!
-
simply beautiful and stunning!!! and it was nice to see that some one else besides me uses the polyurethane as a finish. lol
-
I love your pattern!! My grandson wants to make things every time he comes out. lol and he bugs his parents to let him come to grandmas house for the weekend all the time because grandma does crafts with him!!! Now my youngest child is like 35 so I really don't have or can't find the really easy scroll saw patterns I use to have. This will be the perfect project for his next visit. Connor is 7 so I cut everything out, but he traces the pattern to tracing paper then traces the pattern onto the wood. I cut it and hes excited about his next project because grandma said he could use the electric sander. lol In Connors words sanding isn't fun. until now hes had to sand by hand. so thank you much bagetta . next time he comes out we'll make this and i'll take a picture of the finished project and put it up!!!

well im good at showing pics of projects that come out nice, but no matter how long you' been scrolling or doing any woodcrafting there are time when the projct just doesn't come out right! Im trying to make steve goods elephant cell phone charger thingy. (don't you just love my precise detaled way of talking? lol) Its another one of those slot and tab patterns I love so much but can never seem to get the slots and tabs cut out so the tabs fit into the slots. lol I cut out 8 of these things. 4 the size of the pattern and 4 after I inlarged the pattern. now I tried to do some fignatling to get the thing together and after about half an hour spike came in to see what I was doing. by this time I was very frustrated to say the least. lol so he said ok you go sit down and let me see what I can do. He did a good job of making every thing fit together and filled in the holes so once painted you wouldn't know the slots and tabs hadn't work out right and that was nice. well about 5 this morning I woke up and since I couldn't go back to sleep I decided to paint the elephants....they look like elephants but they really don't look all that good. I cerently couldn't sell them so now I have 6 of these cut out and im trying to figue out how I might salvage them. So far iv only come up with one idea and I don't know if it will work or not. first i'll have to get the tabs to fit into the slots as best as possible and then before glueing every thing together i'll take my spray adheasive and glue some fabric to the outsides of the project, hopefuly hiding all the fignaglie to get it together. if it still doesn't look good i'll keep the little painted one and the enlarged one im putting fabric on for my own use and just have to use the wood from the others to make magnets or other small parts for other projects. When I get the fabric covered one done I'll load up both pictures no matter how they turn out. I think its good for new scrollers / woodworkers to see that even those of us who hav been doing it for years cant always get the project right the first time around!!! lol

thank you kevin. a few years ago I did sell my stuff on ebay. I didn't make any money at it though as I never know how much to charge and we always lost money on shipping. after I make a few more boxes of crafts I might try selling them again....since right now they just sit in my craft room in boxes until somebody comes over and asks if they can look through the boxes to see if theres anything in them they might want. mostlyl family and there friends everybody likes to get free stuff. lol and thank you for letting me know what you think of them
-
you did him great!!! God is still working on me with paticence. lol

thanks every one, the only tricky part really was guleing the theard to that little piece of wire! lol
-
had well some day I will learn how to get tI he pictures and words on here properly! lol I do many different kinds of crafts and sometimes I like to combine them together. I went through a time when I was making boxes and I had some wood I wanted to recycle so I decided to make some round boxes. I was also just getting started with the compound cutting, so I decided to incopurated some compound cutting with my boxes and make some pin cousions. I put some doll hair on the ladies and then glued a small piece of wire to one hand and then a piece of cloth to the other so she would look like she was sewing. then I glued the girl to the top edge of the box. Next I cut a some styrafome to shape, covered it with cloth and glued it to t he other side of the top and wal la!! a pincouson was born with a little storage airea for extral pins tape messure or what ever. lol then theres the mini doll bed with doll. I had made several poker boxes an had this bottom part of the box left over so I made a little doll bed with some trim from my sewing trim stash, then I took a small piece of fake fur and my tiney tiny little doll.her hands and face are made from old nylon. lol then back to my small bits of cloth box and a pillow and blanket were made. I glued some yellow felt to the bottom of the box for a mattress. and lastly the little turtle pin cousiion. a friend of mine found this pattern in an old book at the laibary. well of course we just had to make them lol some wood, cloth, felt and trim and we have a baby doll, doll bed mattress and pillow an d blaket.
