  1. Thank you for sharing the details. You are definitely talented. Great job!
  2. Simply amazing especially freehand. I couldn’t do one that well with a template look forward to seeing the finished work and how you actually painted the letters.
  3. Looks great to me. I started using red lines to help with shadows and tracking the blade. I have started using a magnifier as well, but sometimes it actually makes my vision worse if I get the focal length off. What type blade did you use? Thanks in advance
  4. Outstanding quality pattern. I wish I could learn to do that. Do you you a particular software? Thanks for sharing
  5. Thanks for sharing. I agree with his logic. I have bought their clamps which are low cost. They bend easier than the better quality clamps but are fine for small low pressure jobs
  6. Great job on creating the pattern and the artwork. My shoulder would be sore for days from drilling all those holes for the cuts. Looks good!
  7. Absolutely great work! Thanks for sharing all the details to create this piece. I do have a couple questions if you don’t mind. 1) Did you spray or brush the clear coats (I struggle with getting poly inside all my cuts with brush) 2) Did you prep birch with sealer before staining to prevent blotchy look 3) Did you glue artwork to frame. Thanks in advance
  8. It makes sense. Thank you
  9. Great job! The area on the right side had to be very nerve racking with so little wood holding it. Any tips that you could share when cutting intricate areas like that to keep from breaking?
  10. They look great. Your lettering is perfect. I wish I could do that. The ones receiving these will enjoy them
  11. Sounds like you have received some good feedback. For what it is worth, I have had a Delta 12” planner since early 1990’s. I have built a lot of furniture using this planner and using rough lumber. Only issues has been a defect in the blade from a piece of metal in a board. It has been a good and solid woodworking tool. My one advise on any brand would be to not remove too much wood with each pass. My only regret is that I wish it was was wider, but cost prevented that. I hope this was helpful as well. Good luck.
  12. Excellent work Frank as always. I really appreciate your detailed comments on each of your posts on how you made the projects. Your comments are very helpful. Thank you
  13. I follow option #1. I modify the pattern to the size that I want, with enough margin for the over hang of the frame. I then cut the wood to size and sand it to a 220 grit finish. I usually paint or stain a 1/4” backer board. I have been making my own frames (which I hate making) that will hold both pieces. I have been gluing both pieces in the frame and then use a heavy kraft or decorative paper to cover the back. I use glue because I use 3/4” stock for the frames and I don’t have any room in the rabbet left to use the normal frame pins to hold it in. I worry about gluing the boards due to wood movement, so I generally just glue at the vertical centers of the frame. I would love to hear how others attach the work to the frame. Thank you.
