  1. That has turned out great, the colours make it pop
  2. All very well done Joe, sounds like we both rely on Steve for a lot of patterns, he really is a hero P.S. My wife had me cut the rabbit with flower as well, I used 1" Oak though
  3. Sounds like you have created a Marmite cut Charlie, but love it or hate it, it's very well cut
  4. A pair of talented chaps, joining forces to make a super cute design, well done both gents
  5. That's a lovely bit of cutting especially on the joints they look nice and tight
  6. Beautiful Frank
  7. That's a fine bit of cutting there
  8. Cheers Katie, I did a basket not too long ago, on similar lines to this one, not on a wood slice though, I just have to get round pattern now to fit the wood, the one I have is for a square
  9. Cheers Barb, I will do a search for Carol Rothman and have a look
  10. They are great Jim, thanks for the ideas
  11. Now that sounds different
  12. Cheers for the heads up Tom, I do wear a dust mask when sanding
  13. What a lovely keepsake for her
  14. Sorry to hear about your arm barb, hopefully you will be back doing the Mandala's before long
  15. Daughter in law would love that, she's a wiz with the cupcakes as well :-)
  16. Wildlife is sounding a good idea, I will sand the surfaces down the next time I get in the shed, on the wildlife theme I might try a stags head on one of them, that leaves three more
  17. I've been given some timber (again), most is PAR but there was four wood slices amongst it, I was told it's oak but not 100% certain, the slices are between 7 & 9 inches across and 1 to 1 3/4 inch thick, now the rub what to do with them ?, I've thought of a nativity but it's wrong time of year, but after that I'm struggling for ideas, I've added a picture so you can see them, the marks on them are not splits and they are dry ready to saw, so ladies and gents any ideas or pattern suggestions would be appreciated P.S. I forgot to add they have bark on
  18. A man after my own heart Les LOL Two lovely pieces, both well cut Lawson56
  19. Really stands out well
  20. Thank you all for your wonderful comments
  21. I seem to have blinkers on at the moment, if it's not a box I don't see it, it might have something to do with the amount of 1 1/2" inch mahogany and 2" Oak I've had given me, they lend well to boxes lol, this one is mahogany top and bottom, Oak for the draw and Maple for the inlay, it is 2 inches high and 5 inch wide, the draw is 1 and a half inches high by 1 inch wide, Steve's pattern was for a glued on humming bird and flowers, but I altered it to an inlayed one, disappointed slightly with the birds tail, but as long as you don't all look at the original pattern I might just get away with it LOL
  22. Good bit of neat and straight cutting, lovely sharp edges
  23. That's an excellent piece of cutting Jeff
  24. That's a beautiful memento of the day for them, I'm sure they will cherish it
