  1. Made a couple of hundred items and would give some away wherever I went since I didn't want to sell anything Our veterinarian has many dozens of items on display throughout his practice and all employees have received plenty of things as well. Was there yesterday and it's satisfying seeing my work displayed...
  2. VERY nice..... I should have stayed with the hobby a little longer..
  3. Wishing everyone and their families a safe and happy Holiday!
  4. Bring it on, not inspired enough yet!
  5. I saved a years worth of scroll saw blades instead of throwing them away and now I'm looking for creative ideas for what I could do/make with these???
  6. Very Nice!
  7. That's very nice!
  8. Wow, that's awesome!
  9. Forgot to mention it is UV resin...
  10. I had quite a few switch plate toppers and decided to use my new hobby to put a dome coating on them with some JDiction high viscosity resin. A little tedious being careful not to move the liquid too far using the little dotting tool tip. Now there's a thick hard, thick gloss finish I never could have accomplished with any spray.
  11. Awesome!!
  12. Sadly, a fellow scroller her bought my Dewalt and everything that went with it. Now I'm making resin projects and I can work inside the house instead of a freezing garage, that's so much cleaner now!
  13. Two months into my new hobby working with epoxy resin and it's such a different experience from scroll sawing not following a pattern and seeing your progress along the way. This is more of experimenting and hoping the resin Gods cooperate and do me proud. I do miss scrolling but as the weather gets colder that memory will fade some when the garage gets really cold and I'm inside where it's warm... Hope all are well.... Scroll On !

Too late.... Sold my saw and "everything" that went with it... Took saw funds to finance the resin costs. Amount fell short
  15. Wiw, that is very nice, and creative!

Very nice... Wish I learned that technique before switching hobbies...
  17. This site is home to some really decent helpful people and I will be stopping by to see what everyone has been up to and see their latest work. I think the reason I started scroll sawing is because I wanted to see if I could actually make anything and then I got hooked. When I start a new hobby I always go all in and then after awhile it's off to something new. I'm an old fart and want to try as many new things as possible while I'm still breathing air. Who knows, maybe someone might want to try out casting with resin after they see a few things. Been really into using alcohol inks creating what they call the Petri effect and it's very addictive.
  18. My Dewalt saw, blades, patterns, etc, left the building this morning.... Time to explore different things. I did enjoy all of the help and the wealth of useful information you good people provided especially grandpa for providing me with patterns I was able to cut of our seven dogs, of which six, have passed on. Having completed their portraits made this hobby all worthwhile. I will still be stopping by to see all of your wonderful creations. I figured I would post some of the work I did get finished in the last year and show the pile of blades I wish I started from day one. Again, Thank You All...
  19. We used to put those in a fish bowl and watch them grow back in the day.
  20. Some of my castings these last seven week into this unique hobby... Mix it up, wait, and hope for the best!

  22. Alright, this is the last and final project I will scroll because I'm selling the saw on Monday and switching my hobby to casting with epoxy resin. Made over a couple of hundred items and had a lot of fun but it's time for a change.
  23. The debate is over, my saw is being sold on Monday to a fellow scrollsawer on this forum. My back will feel better and my garage will be way cleaner. I did have fun while it lasted!
  24. It's not a question of just having different patterns, it's just time to change hobbies. My hobbies usually don't last over a year except this one. Retired and want fresh new challenges and as much as I enjoyed making scrolled projects, it's just gotten old for me. I'm into casting with epoxy resin for the last month and who knows how long this will last!
