  1. I haven't been online in a couple of weeks and now here's this terrible news. I finished two of the SG "Slightly Rude" signs for my boy in those weeks (he loves them and has them in his bathroom). Sincere condolences to Steves' family.
  2. Good luck Steve. I'll be praying for your full recovery and return to your shop work!
  3. I finished a couple signs for Christmas presents, and then immediately after Christmas started "work" on my first small intarsia learning experiment (a small holiday bells ornament from a magazine pattern). I have 3 of them cut out and in various stages of fitting/sanding. I'm a slow worker!
  4. That's very sad news. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. Steve is really an inspiration and great source of patterns to at least this one novice scroll saw hobbyist - Many thanks.
  5. Preprius, So you know, your post is of help to newbies. In just my short time scroll sawing I have observed occasional blades that are just ‘different’ from bulk package purchases. I have found that sometimes it’s just that I did a not so great job of inserting the blade into the clamps. But some of them do various things like cutting nearly sideways (exaggerating) or dulling rapidly. Thanks for the info! I’ve learned to be like Hawk on those blades and quickly swap them out before they cause more damage than they’re worth.
  6. I think that is great Matt. I’m going to try to find the pattern. Joe
  7. Many thanks for all of the warm welcomes. I’ve been reading the forum for a few months, so I am well aware of how much information is available here! It is a great place. I don’t do a whole lot of interneting, so I’m sorry for this reply to all of your greetings being so late! :-)
  8. Hello, I joined the forum a couple of weeks ago but have not yet posted a short introduction: I am Joe, an entire newbie to scrollsawing. A couple of years ago I picked up a copy of a scroll saw magazine, subscribed, and after reading and becoming interested in trying it out as a new hobby, I purchased my first saw (ST-21). I’ve found that I really enjoy cutting patterns, beginner signs and such for now, as I find time. In the real world I have family, work, and all the time constraints that brings with it! I believe I’ve found a hobby that I will enjoy for a long time. And I look forward to learning and getting better at scroll sawing and possibly also trying out some intarsia.
