  3. That is so pretty. Neat job Grampa!
  4. Pretty cool Dan. I like it.
  5. Can't get any better than that. The font is perfect. A saying to live by.
  6. This came up once before but I cannot find where or when it was. I'm a bottom feeder.
  7. Delta may be the same since they are a near twin. My Delta Model 1 is 4 years old. When did the model 2's come out.
  8. NO! If the arm lifts, you can feed either way. To me the only other thing that determines the way you feed is the design of the bottom clamp. Read Scrappile's post. Exactly right!!! " I think the answer is if the top arm lifts up it can be a "top" or "bottom" feeder as long as it has "quick" clamps in both top and bottom.
  9. Wow, that is so pretty. Very inspiring. I want to try.
  10. Thank God it's only top vs bottom feed. Just think if there were also a left and right feed. The older Hawks 2008 types were easier to bottom feed. The bottom clamp was designed to hold the blade permanent or until the blade had to be changed. The top clamp was the side screw clamp. A saw where the top arm lifts and there is ease of clamping on both the top and bottom are saws that feed either way. I believe todays scroll saws are designed for both top and bottom feed. The designers should realize that the blade can be feed either way or there is a loss of customers. Now the older saws ... Just my take, my thoughts
  11. I like your clocks, I like the design especially. Job well done.
  12. Very well done. A nice font for the words and yes lettering is one of the hardest things to cut.
  13. Sounds like a loose nut in your shop.
  14. That's a nice place to identify wood. Maybe it will help me. Thank you.
  15. I think it's a Gene thing. Or just a preference. Some people grow up buttoning their shirt starting at the top and others start at the bottom. I bottom feed on a Delta/Dewalt/Dremel
  16. Radio Shack # is 271-1716 This is premature because I havent been to Radio Shack to get it. I'll let you know if it is different #
  17. Merry Christmas Kevin. I like the good news.
  18. Blade will flex more side to side because the side of the blade is thinner than front to back. If side to side is tight then front to back is tight.
  19. I don't know and hope i never need to find out. I do think the replacement motor costs a heavy 50% of a new machine. The price at Ereplacementparts was upwards of $250.
  20. Your brother will enjoy that, it looks great.
  21. The old card may never quit, it does not have moving parts like the pot does. I would think the motor would be the next most possible. Thank you for the links. The lowest price I found was about $65 The Potentiometer is $3.49 at Radio Shack
  22. Happy Birthday tomorrow Doug. Thank you and I would enjoy a new saw. I would still pursue to have this one work. Radio Shack has the VS Switch which I might obtain on my Birthday. Again, thanks and my best wishes to you.
  23. A fine job you've done. Looks good.
  24. Use that old fashioned telephone. call and ask Mike or the Sloans... They will tell you.
  25. Kelly, at the grocery store is " Press N Seal ' by Glad. You've seen it, for wrapping foods. Tear off enough to cover your wood and use something to press it down. I use a roller. then attach your pattern to it. I like it because you can see thru it to attach your pattern. That ornament is looking great.
