Roly, Stand aside while I get a cup 'o your coffee.
I'll have that with my Pillsbury biscuits and raspberry jam.
Rasp...RrrrrraassPPPPPPP ... accentuate the 'P' as RASPPPBerry jam.
Sip of coffee....um um good
Well actually, I should be silent like the "p" in ras'p'berry.
Good morning all !!
Had a thought,,, Dan the two saw man...
Buy a piano bench, set up two saws.
When you get tired cutting on one,
just slide down a couple feet and start
cutting on the other. Efficiency to the max.
Larry
Two sugar Dan, Looks like it's a pot of old coffee for me. Glad you left some even if it isn't hot.
It'll be good with a few of ChelCass' choc chip cookies.
RR, why don't you fix that leaky roof? Will a bucket of tar do it for a while?
Well it will quit leaking by itself. It's like a squeeky wheel when it ain't turning.
Larry
Hey Pat, looks like you are a 'natural' scroll saw addict. Welcome !
I'll bet all my sawdust there is a member from Maryland.
Keep us updated on how your chainsaw mill works.
Just bundle up for that cold weather. It's four degrees here in the Southern Tier of New York.
With my kerosene heater, my shop warms up to an almost comfortable 35.
And again, welcome..
Larry
I too am welcoming you to SSV and since you enjoyed scrolling with your Dad, scroll on
and each piece will be in memory of him.
Hey Richcop, I thought it would be "Rich Texan"
Ok, lets "scroll"... friend
Larry
A neighbor gave me a slab of wood from a pear tree.
I cut these earrings from it ( with my new bandsaw blade )
No finish as yet.
The dangles on the small set are resistors.

I have not seen a scroll saw on display in any store. Scroll saws are not a big sell like
table saws, drill presses, compressors
Home Depot and Lowes sell Dewalt also. Dewalt is a good saw. But
if you are not satisfied, it is earier to return to a store than repack and ship it back
to "Granger"
Delta and Dewalt are basically the same saw.
Used to be that Delta came w/stand and Dewalt did not. You had to buy stand separate.
Enough from me...
Larry
Hans, You kinda told the temperature there in a post about scrollsawing out doors.
"All year round", you said.
Well, good morning Richard, don't think we've met.
I could handle 33 degrees with just a hat and coat.
Off to the shop with coffee in hand.
Larry
You are blessed! You are blessed! Oh, I already said that.
Well, you were blessed!
There is a limited supply of misquite even in Texas, I would think.
It is beautiful...You were blessed.
Larry
There is no denying that is a beautiful job.
Haven't seen those in many a year.
They remind me of a daily job I never liked.
But still, a very good job.
Larry
I thought I would ask what your temperature is there in
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Our temp here in the Southern Tier of New York is a
chilly minus nine ( -9 F ) ... ( -24 C ) < (does -9F convert to -24C ?)
I will guess your temp is...uhhhhh -30C ... about -19F

Go to this link and read... won't solve pin to pinless but will give you an idea what you may want to do.
In reading, there are sawyers that use pin end saws for patterns that have no (or very, very few) inside cuts
and pin end saws work for Intarsia artists.
Scroll sawing is addicting to many, as I am one, but I imagine almost all started with a pinless saw.
Sloans wood shop say 'Sorry but no one makes a pinned spiral blade'
