  1. Hi all. I really had to put this in 'Bragging Rights'. The sun is warm, the breeze is minimal but refreshing and the sky is absolutely divine. I'm in the back garden, surrounded by endless wild flowers, and I can just about hear our children playing with friends down the street. The saw is running as well as I have come to expect from it, and everything's good with the world. Just had a small sip of iced Peruvian Torch juice, and 'Surrealistic Pillow' is playing in the background, while jasmine petals fall on the saw, as I work. The smell of Chandan Dhoop and Nag Champa are everywhere and the seagulls are circling. I'm starting to forget all the unjust people and suffering that inhabits our beautiful planet. (but I'll never forget). The world should have stood still in '67 (Hippy Hill, S.F) Sorry to keep-on but I thought, I'd share a rare, cool moment with friends. Sunny Wishes to you all, Nick
  2. My turn...DesigninG.
  3. Great work Marg...consistently high standard, as always.
  4. Nice work, Kev...as usual.
  5. Hey, Sully...maybe it's time for a longer vehicle!
  6. A true honour, Gator...enjoy. I'm just starting to find that local people are blown away by my work (mainly by accident really-I don't tend to show my work). If people see your work in that way, you should be proud of yourself. Relish the warm glow....then get back to the saw, and make some more. Well done, friend.
  7. I know I don't need to post 3 (just like 3) but this is probably my favourite...I'm sure you all already know this one though - after drilling all if the pilot holes, use a dremel drill with a diamond cutting cone bit and re-drill the holes slightly from the back (just enough to widen them) ensuring easy blade threading, when you're unable to see the holes.
  8. Inner sanding made easy...take 2 lolly (popsicle) sticks, and glue them either side of an old blade. Then wrap fine grade sandpaper around and glue it to the sticks. Fasten into the saw and...instant thin sanding blade.
  9. Whe stack cutting, make sure that the end of the tape (joining the pieces together) is actually on the top rather than underneath. This way, you can easily spin or turn your piece faster and smoother, without the edges of the tape curling up and sticking to the saw plate.
  10. Nice one Roly (everything seems more in Dollars!) LOL
  11. I'm sure it will be a welcome boost, Kev - which is only fair really considering all of our new members and how much people actually get from the village...for free.
  12. Absolutely...come on, what's $10 these days (£7) - and that is for a year! Huge benefits for very little financial burden. This is a great place, full of friendly & helpful people. Hmmm...where next if Travis were to close, eh?
  13. I couldn't have said it better myself, sir.
  14. I'm sure I can speak for Mahendra also, and say it was our pleasure to help.
  15. Thanks Roly - ya gotta find time for a good cause...It'll make a really nice keepsake for the family, I'm sure.
  16. Congratulations Sul...always nice when all the work pays off in the end. I'm sure there's a few happy customers of yours out there now...letting all of their friends & family know where they got the wares from. Regards, Nick.
  17. That's fine - no problem Katie. Please let me know how the cutting goes & maybe a photo? Such a worthwhile portrait. Regards, Nick.
  18. In my opinion (for what it's worth), the four images that I've edited are the clearest ones with the most contrasting tones. If you want me to have a go at any of the others, just let me know. As for the 4th, this one is quite clean really, but just need the facial features & skin folds just blackening-up. I tend to print off first, then go at it with the thin marker by hand. I really hope that these help a little, during such a sad time. Any further questions of help, don't hesitate to get in touch. Many Thanks, Nick.
  19. Number 3. Same as the others, only you may want to add a little detail to the hair - it seems quite flat, but the facials are fine. Again, with the shirt issues...I'd probably take out the lettering. Next. Nick.
  20. Right...Number 2. As before, you may want to work on the outer lines a little, and maybe do something with the shirt stripes. On to 3 now. Nick.
  21. OK...so I'll post them one by one as I complete each. I've basically taken out all of the backgrounds - these tend to take away the focus from the main image. You may want to tidy the outer image lines a little as this can be quite time consuming. You may also want to cut the alternate stripes on the shirt...but that's your decision. The 1st image is fine, except fot the right ear (no reflection). please wait for more. Thanks, Nick.
  22. Hi Mrs N. I've got a few minutes spare, so working on a few images for you. Hold on...the better ones usually take a little longer, so please bear with me. I'll be in touch soon. Kindest Regards & Deepest Condolences, Nick.
  23. Hi DW. Please find the pattern that you requested. I have also included the symbols - and the font can be found here: http://www.fontspace.com/jonathan-s-harris/chinese-asian-style Let me know how you get on with it, or if you need any more info. Kindest Reagrds, Nick.
  24. My pleasure DW. A little busy at the moment, but as soon as I get to the mac, I'll get it to you.
  25. Thank you all so much for your nice comments...it really is nice of you to say so.
