  1. Hey Keefie...I know Newquay well. I met my wife there 15 years ago. We were in b&b's across from each other (just near the little church on The Crescent) it's just by Corkers & Cheyanne Moore, off Fore Street. We used to spend hours talking on Fistral (as well as in the surf). Beautiful place, which will always be special to us. Haven't been able to get back recently though...3 children and too much work. I really hope that you make the best of the great weather and atmosphere. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  2. Hey Roly...thanks for the nice comment on my latest piece. I think it's time to get outside, before we hit Autumn next week! It might be too early to tell as yet...but it may be time to blow the dust off the Pimms.
  3. Something REALLY ODD is happening here in the UK! There is a strange yellow circle in the sky right now, and I'm very unsure what it is. It feels nice - and I've been informed that it could be something called 'The Sun.' No...seriously though - I thought I'd share my latest piece with you. Our local Chinese Take-Away is more than accomodating. Over the past month, I have seen ignorant drunken fools, demanding that they call a taxi for them, and generally abusing their hospitallity. The owners are extremely nice people, therefore I thought a little gift was in order. (I will call in sometime this weekend). By the way - the symbols are 'Eternal Happiness' in Simplified Chinese. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  4. Top quality, Kev. Well done.
  5. Whoa...I say we all campaign for a 'Slap Button' LOL.
  6. A toast to us...and our new friends is certainly what is required - (but we all must spare a thought for the suffering families, so far away in Arizona). I will never support war in any form, but for the real hero's-protecting innocent people from natural disasters...I bow down to you. With My Deepest Sympathy, Nick (Bridlington - UK)
  7. Welcome 'Newbies'. We're pretty lucky here - Travis really does look after us. I (as well as many others, I'm sure) am looking forward to seeing your work. I've travelled around quite a bit in my time...but this really is the friendliest village I've ever known. Great to have you all here.
  8. Hey Kev...great work. Looks like your single-handedly bringing down the forests. Maybe it's time to plant a new tree every so often LOL
  9. Nice one, Gator...as always.
  10. Welcome to the village. This place is packed with talented people, so you're in safe hands. Any questions...just ask away.
  11. Yeah, I know Lancashire pretty well. I used to drive to Leyland and Blackburn a couple of times a week in a previous job. I'd always take the scenic route home through Nelson and into the Dales (Skipton). Small world eh?
  12. Hey, I know London pretty well...it seems that the 'Brits' may well be taking over. (I'm from Bridlington - East Riding of Yorkshire). Keep up with the practice...it'll come good with a little time.
  13. Hey Bob. Fellow UK'er, so to speak (Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire) - also a proud shed owner...I think maybe that is also a 'British Thing'!
  14. What an amazing achievement. 100 years old is really something - I'm pretty sure that this special lady has kept healthy all her life...and so rightfully deserves to reach this milestone. Great scrolling by the way.
  15. I just wanted to take this opportunity to welcome all our new members from Free4All. I am looking forward to checking out your work. Kindest Regards, Nick (East Coast UK)
  16. Hey Mark. Feel free to add any content you wish (photos or text) there is really no need to feel inferior - everyone has to start somewhere, and even if it's just mistakes you've made...someone will benefit from your experience. I'm sure you'll soon find out, but there are some really talented people here, with a vast amount of knowledge (many with individual specialities). If you're ever in doubt...just ask. Welcome to the village.
  17. Wow...what a piece of work. Really not my thing, but I can appreciate how much work must have gone into something so big. Great job - you're clearly talented.
  18. Hey Kev...I see that 'The Font Guru Strikes Again'! Consistently great scroll lettering yet again. Keep it up. Regards, Nick.
  19. Hey there...welcome. Don't underestimate the skill and experience of many of the villagers here. Please feel free to ask any questions, no matter how trivial - there is always a specialist ready with the answer you're looking for. We all like seeing new work, so try to post photos if you wish. Have a good look around, and once again - welcome. Nick (Bridlington - East Coast UK)
  20. Really cool DW. Just goes to show really - I know what I do, and I know what I like...but although we work with the same medium - they really are worlds apart. You're shell work is excellent, and a million miles away from anything I could ever produce. Again, another case of "The Wonder Of Wood" - both versatile and beautiful. I look forward to more of your posts.
  21. The font-work seems to be your trademark, Kev. Your lettering always seems to flow smoothly, which leaves a great finish. Nice work, again. I'll keep an eye out for more.
  22. Humming bird & flowers is my preference, but both are great. Nice work (I lived in Nuneaton for 5 years - my wife is from Warwickshire). Keep up with the good pieces, and good luck with the display.
  23. Intarsia isn't really my gig, but that looks pretty cool to me. Nice work...keep it up and keep posting.
  24. Thanks Kevin...I must say, you've done some pretty handsome pieces yourself.
  25. Love it, DW...particularly the ribbon loops on the box. Great work.
