    As Baltic birch portraits get older, I notice the wood seems to be turning yellow. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I put some kind of finish on them when I get them done? Maybe a flat poly spray? They don't look really bad I was just curious.

    I use a mask and I love the smell of that wood. I made a small jewelry box with it.

    Thanks everyone. I’ll work with Masonite and give it a try. I just find myself tipping my work up going off the edge.

    Has anyone come up with an idea to extend the front of the table further out? It needs to be 2-3 inches longer. Is there a “ home made “ way to do it?

    Thanks everyone. By raising them I glued small pieces of wood on the back side of the cross and to the inside where it’s cut from to raise the cross up from the surface a little.

    Thanks. The last Walnut one was my favorite too. It looked really nice on our dining room wall. No idea why I sold it. I’m glad someone else liked it too.

    You have a good friend! My Siamese will sleep on the hand rail by the steps. My shop vac doesn't even bother him.

    I did each of these with a #4 spiral blade and raised them a little. Each I finished with 321 or semi gloss poly. All the wood was given to me by my brother. I have already sold one at Art Z Studio for $75. My first one I did in walnut, the fourth one here, I went back to look at it but decided to leave it in the store, it sold three days later. That's ok, my brother is going to bring me more wood like this. The cherry one here is a little over an inch thick an is still in the garage. I think it would be too heavy to hang on the wall. I really like the grain in each one of them. Thanks for looking

    Spend the money if you can on a new saw. I replaced all the sleeves and bearings and still had problems. if you can, buy a good one it's worth it. I put mine on a credit card and I love my new saw.

    Thanks everyone. One thing I did find is you get two pieces of gum but you'll get 4-5 m&m's. I'm not sure which is better. My dad really liked it.
