Sparkey Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 I have some picture frame stock cut and just need the corners joined together. There are six places local that do this. The cheapest one is $15 per frame. Are they crazy. I have done this before at work and it takes less than a minute. Ok rant over. Quote

dgman Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 Hey Rusty, are your frames for portraits you cut? If so you don't need any mechanical fasteners. I use plain old Titebond glue and a band clamp. As long as each pair of frame sides are exactly the same length and the ends are cut to a perfect 45° angle, the frame will square up when you tighten the band clamp. After the glue is dry you can glue the portrait to the frame. Remove any squeeze out with a tooth pick and your set! With the portrait and backer glued to the frame, the frame will be just as strong as if you used mechanical fasteners. I use this method with all of my portraits and have never had a failure. LarryEA Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 Dick everything is already cut, I just need them joined together. Time to look for a machine. Try this once...it works!!!!!!!!!! Rusty, An easy method with masking tape. Example: frame sides are 8" x 10" ... total length 36 inches. Lay out a strip of masking tape 40 inches long. Lay a 10" on the tape, but an 8" side against it, then the other 10" side and last the 8'. Flip the 10" up to a 90 degree on the 8" and continue mating until you have your frame together. Align the corners and secure the tape end. Let dry and remove the masking tape. Quote

sullyscroller Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 Which Logan machine do you have? I'm not sure of the model but it sets one nail at a time. For 8x10 i use one nail per corner , larger get 2 per corner sully Quote
