Just finished up my Excavator. 90-95 % was cut on the scroll saw. It is made from yellowheart and walnut. With some birch dowel rods, axles and wheels. The plan is from toysandjoys.com. All natural colors. Most all parts move- booms, bucket, tracks and it rotates. This will be entered into our county fair next month. There is a video of it working on my crafts Facebook page if anyone is interested. I couldn't get it to post here.

Looks great, nice work. Is that for you to play with or do you have a child in mind?

Thank you. It's a fair project and I just had someone from my facebook page ask about buying it. So after the fair if he doesn't buy it I will put it up on my shelf with the bull dozer and trucks.

You should have no problem selling anything you make !

Nicely done Clayton, it's nice that you may have sold it already. Can you sell these for enough money to cover your time and materials, I imagine it takes lots of time to make one?

Len

I have just over 33 hours in this. I don't charge a lot for my time, but yes if I get my asking price I will be happy. It will cover materials and time.

This took second place, and got a first place memorial award(sponsored by a local business). It was in the same category as my Founding Fathers cutting.

Congratulations on all the wins at the Fair.  Piece looks great.  Thanks for sharing your photo.

Very nice Clayton. Making toys is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I wish I could see the video but I don't do Face Book.
