Boy fishing cut from reclaimed rimu finished with 50/50 BLO and Rustoleum semi-gloss spray.  Black MDF backer.

 

 

 

Pattern is by Grampa and is in the library.

Rob first of all I really like this cutting you did but I think I like the wood better. I have been following your post on using Rimu so I Googled it this mourning. I can see why your country has limited the harvesting of this tree.

Great design and great execution Rob.

 

I am fortunate in that, over the years, I have spent a lot of time fishing with my (now 14 year old) grandson Ethan.  I'm now thinking if there is any way I might make some slight modifications to your design in order to make the scene look a bit like Ethan fishing from our dock.

Thanks Frank.  The pattern was designed by Grampa though, not me.
