Jim McDonald Posted November 6, 2016 Report Posted November 6, 2016 Sounds great. Now I wish I had lined up some shows. I just counted and I did 31 birdhouses this year. Most are gifts, but I am going to raffle one for my radio club as a fund raiser at our Christmas dinner. LarryEA 1 Quote

LarryEA Posted November 6, 2016 Author Report Posted November 6, 2016 (edited) Nice job, Larry! Where was your show? The show was at the O.L.Davis Fire Station in Endwell. At Hooper and Country Club Roads. It's a small show, Only about fifteen crafters were there. A couple 'bakers', cookies, bread & cupcakes. Knitters, jewelry... I was the 'lone' woodworker'. They have the show twice a year, fall/spring. It is a nice small small show that I enjoy. Glad the birdhouses were good sellers for you. Well Larry, you didn't get rich, but, you did make a descent amount of money for a one day sale. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures after you've posted them. Len Really,,, I enjoyed telling people about making the bird houses....because some of my houses are 'siblings' ....or the 'step child' houses these are called the J&S Houses or "The Negatives' These are the scraps everyone else tosses away after they cut the 'parent' houses. I would start telling about how I make them and that attracted other customers. This promoted the selling of the 'Positive' or the 'Parent' houses. ...... but regretfully.....I have no pictures of the show. At one point I had to quit making notes of what houses I was selling so I could attend to another person wanting a bird house. My notes show I sold eight 'Parent' and one 'J&S' houses but I know I sold more than one J&S. (J&S stands for Jesus and Susan .Without whom there would be no J&S houses...Susan is my Wife) I refuse to do an inventory ... to much of a hastle since I really am not sure of how many I've made I think I've cut about 72 houses and from that have made an additional 50 J&S houses... Think I'll do a BLOG... to be continued... Lucky2 1 Quote
