Earthquakes in New Zealand

Just reading about the quakes. Are all you guys ok?

Fine here in Foxton....but down he road in the capital wellington...........It's another story..............

Then you got the South Island where the worst of the quakes hit ( lost two people) the roads are torn up some and several houses and commercial buildings are toast one town is shut of from the rest of the country..............

But ok all the same...hope to get some sleep tonite.....................

I'm fine thanks.  We are in Nelson at the top of the South Island.  We were rudely awakened on Monday night just after midnight with a strong shake for a couple of minutes.  Fortunately we suffered no damage but parts of Nelson lost power and many shops and supermarkets were closed to clean up on Monday.  Schools were shut too until checks could be made so the kids had the day off.  Kaikoura (on the east coast of the south island) is the worst hit area and is effectively cut off due to massive land slides covering the coast road and railway tracks.

Glad to hear you all weathered the shake up. Saw 3 cows stranded after quake. Hope someone can help them out. At least they are on a grassy section sticking out of the ground and can eat.

Just reading about the quakes. Are all you guys ok?

closest i got to feeling a quake was in high turbulence weather in a small aircraft

Glad you guys are ok.  I was thinking of you yesterday, when I saw the news.  Prayers going to the people that have lost family members and to those that have lost there homes.

Thank heavens you guys are alright, it has had to be an awful experience for a lot of people. I saw on the news tonight that the three cattle have been saved, a farmer made a path for them to walk down. They had a bit of food, but, they had no water. You could see where they had circled around and around on that small piece of earth, it was not much more than a spot of mud at the end.

Glad that Merlin, Rob, and the 3 cows are all safe and sound.  Sorry to hear of the devastation in other areas of your Country.  I pray for all concerned. Thanks for giving us updates.
